At VBS tonight the pastor came and talked to me. He was thrilled to see us attending. I told pastor that we are not leaving our church, but would like his church to become our secondary church. They have a great children program so I plan to take LO & DGD4 on Sunday & Wednesday evening services. The pastor understood and welcomed us to attend anytime we aren't at our primary church.

LO asked for spaghetti when we got home. I fixed him a double portion. He ate it then came and asked for a snack! He must be going through another growing spurt.

Tomorrow's T-ball game has been cancelled due to the baseball field being flooded. That gives me an extra 3 hours tomorrow morning that I wasn't expected. I have plenty of things to fill the time.

Hello, villagers ~
It has been a pretty fabulous day, especially around 4 p.m. when The Man who was working on the library's air conditioning unit finally turned it on. That's really good timing for the big book sale tomorrow.

We really could have used the a/c last night when we were setting up tables, and this morning hauling boxes of book out of storage and setting up the sale. I had to make several trips up and down stairs with boxes and supplies as well. I should have been wearing a pedometer, I'm curious how many steps I did today.

Tomorrow I'll be volunteering at the sale all day. We will be short-handed for workers, but it will be ok. We don't have as many books to sell this year as in previous years, but that's ok, too. In previous years, we kept the sale running a week. This time since we are under construction, we can only have the room to hold the sale for 1 day.

I hear the dryer buzzing, better go fold that load right away. It includes the jeans I need to wear tomorrow.

After that I need to prep the cash boxes with change.

dgs and I are walking around outside... Picking up sticks and hickory nuts and dandelions.

Lucylee, that sounds like a fabulous way to spend time with a special little boy.

Haven't cuop. There's wifi in the conference room but this site is blocked. I'm on my cell-data right now.

Drive was easy.

Been on the go since 10, though and am exhausted. Still have physio to do.

My apartment-mate hasn't shown up yet. Not sure if that means I have the place to myself or if they are still out. I left the wine and cheese early and there's a coffee-house after.

Tomorrow starts very early with breakfast at 7:30 and me at 'work' in the book room by 8:30. Will miss a lot of the day, just as I missed things today, but we are overwhelmed in the book room and people don't leave during the 'boring' bits so I have to stay there and miss stuff. I can hear but can't always concentrate.

Flooding - just now hearing about a new band of storms over TX/OK and thinking this must be so hard for so many.

Where to begin to tell about this crazy day. Hmmm...

Raced to make it to Big City to the Government Center. Let dd out at the plaza, told her be brave, run, and just get in there on time. Then I set about to find a parking space. Paperwork clearly said to be completed during the session, so she hadn't done it in advance. When we arrived, they expected it done. I pointed out those very words with my finger on the paper. I only got a "sorry for the miscommunication". Sigh.

We sat with her friends from her high school, all young men, and some of their mothers, to complete paperwork. We were on our own to do the paperwork with no one speaking or even welcoming, and several mothers were saying this was not what they expected.

Mothers were trying to find something to occupy time. I asked the young men about school, plans, etc., and kept embarrassing dd because, well, I have no social fear at my age and she is embarrassed by everything at her age. Then another mother took out a cell phone and was checking something and suddenly a Kevin Hart comedy routine came on with the first shout the "N" word very loud. From then on, I wasn't the embarrassing mother any more.

Our table was the last one they got around to. Dd made a brief video pan of the room and sent to all her friends proving that she was last to leave and just documenting the room they'd all found themselves in for 1.5 hours. Good grief. Traffic home was a bear with HRH waiting on us wondering what we wanted to do for supper.

Back home with a few groceries, we encountered a black snake of granddaddy proportions at the back door. HRH came out to deal with it (remove in an unpleasant manner - not kill) and the phone rang so I was blessedly relieved of duty.

Unfortunately the phone call was about extended-family upset and lasted 45 minutes. In the meantime, HRH got way too hungry to keep waiting and ordered pizza - a bad idea. Then the pizza delivery went dreadfully wrong and an hour later after some worried calling, we were getting a free order of exactly what we had no business eating in the first place.

Hi again everyone! I was greeted by an awful smell when I got home. Eau de catbox, I believe, so I set about doing some cleanup. Unfortunately, before I had made much progress, a neighbor dropped by with some mail that had been mistakenly delivered to his box. Embarrassing. I now have a sewing room with: a cleaned off sewing table, a small amount of decluttering, a catbox that has been extreme cleaned, and a swept and mopped floor. Also windows opened all over the house for obvious reasons. I am finished with scanning the will and am working on a readme file. Then I will burn two DVDs and mail one to my parents. I have not completed the garage door repair yet, but will eat something before I tackle that.
