SEARCHING SUNDAY

I'm searching for a balance between living daily life and packing for the trip north to spend the summer. Whatever you search for today -may it be easily found.

I remember Mystery's 2 dds, Harriet, but I simply can't remember that photo with the Stanley Cup. DD has turned me into a Lightening Fan -so I expect we'll be watching the finals between the Blackhawks & Tampa Bay Lightening. Most of it will be up north -we are thinking positively here and trusting we'll be able to leave this Friday.

Been awake since before 4:30 and finally gave up the ghost and got up. Bed made and meds done so far. Think I'm going to throw in a load of laundry so that will be done before we leave for church. Our time changed from 10 to 10:30 a.m. as of today. So have a little more time to fiddle around.

Those lists helped me get a lot done yesterday. Have a lot of packing done. Instead of loading our really big suitcase I've packed several clothing items in the cloth grocery bags. It will be much simpler for me to pack, think they'll fit in the car better and I also think it'll mean easier unpacking once we get up north. Few things I have removed from the packing bunch so my bags are getting smaller. Dh has decided that some things he wanted me to bring -he no longer does. So that helps.

We've decided to sell our sofa bed in our RV (double). So I posted it on FB in our camp's page. Think it's already gone. Dneighbor went over and took a picture but I think some people were already seriously considering it. We've decided to go with our two recliners (really never use the sofa) and replace it with a desk. Right now all my computer/printer stuff is on the table. I would really like being able to use it as it was meant. If we have overnight company dh and I sleep in our recliners anyway. So, perhaps even today it'll be out of there.

Dee - BWTG on getting things done!

Today is a full day. I woke up after 4 hrs & 36 minutes sleep. I told myself that I would take a long nap this afternoon to get to my 7 hours of sleep goal. After I got up and made coffee, then I looked at the calendar for today and see a nap probably isn't going to happen.
9am -12 church
12:00- 1pm lunch
1:00 - 3:00 birthday party (at chuck-e-cheese...ouch my head already hurts with just the memory of how loud will be)
5:30 - 8:00pm Vacation Bible School

There is a sliver of time available between the birthday party and VBS. If everything goes perfect I might be able to grab a short nap.

who knew getting 7 hours of sleep at night could be such a challenge! ARgh!

Good morning all!

Searching - so appropriate for my weekend!

Yesterday was jam-packed, once ds and I got going. We had a late start in the morning, but we were both exhausted from traveling so I think we needed that. We left the hotel around 11:20, went to ds' apartment to move him in - only to find out that he couldn't move in until 4 pm. We left 1 box and 2 large bags at the front desk since we'd already brought them from the car, which involved one elevator ride and walking 1.5 city blocks since I parked in the nearest legal spot in a nearby parking garage. Then, we went to the nearest Target (different town) and did some shopping for things ds will need. Then, we met a dfriend for lunch in another neighboring village. (She and her dh were part of our church small group for several years while he was finishing his grad studies. She was also a part of the church moms group and the book club I used to attend.) After lunch, we finally moved ds in, making several trips to the garage and back. Lo and behold, ds' roommate had moved in a week ago. . So. . .why couldn't he move in before 4 pm? We're not impressed with the company that is managing the housing for the interns. I then took a short unintentional nap on ds' bed while he unpacked his stuff. We hung out in his place for another hour before heading to the T (subway) to go to our dinner reservation in N. Boston, in the historic area. Very nice restaurant and food!! We then meandered around, walked through a Boston Park. Then, we took the T back to ds' place and I managed to use my smart phone to get myself back to the hotel, driving on unfamiliar roads in the dark. That was a bit stressful - I don't see well in the dark - and I wore my glasses, which I'm not used to doing, but I made it back without a hitch. It was late, though, a little after 11 pm.

I think I'm in love with my new phone now. It seems clear we could not have found our way around the cities here as easily as we have done without smart phones. They made searching for various locations a breeze. And I'm glad I'll have mine to help me search for a route to the turnpike later this afternoon.

I am s2s-ed and have had some bfast. I'll be leaving soon to check out and go to ds' place - with the help of my phone. I will park my car in the nearby garage and we will visit a church together via the T. There is a T stop very close to ds' place. One of the couples in our small group both did grad work in the area, and they recommended this church. After church, we'll have lunch and then I'll get on the road asap.

I wonder how dh's half marathon is going? The forecast says it is in the 40s and raining right now. I wouldn't be surprised if he was running anyway. He is not in as good a shape as he'd like so he's not too particular about his time this race. I think his best time was around 1:40.

Sounds like Helia and her ds are having a great time in Boston. Glad the phone is being so helpful in your searches, Helia. Have a safe trip home.

I hope to get my car washed and the inside detailed today. Also need to give my dog a good brushing. Vacuuming the house wouldn't hurt either.

Just peeking in to say hello. Problems around here too numerous to mention. Redone computer. Redone office here also, all furniture pulled out and computer stuff hooked up differently to the point where I am seeing almost all of the floor underneath and I can now clean under all the work stations. I don't think it's ever looked this good back here.

Business problems mount up also. 2 trucks broke down, helper to the hospital and now out for a while, guy who was supposed to do something for us didn't show up and after waiting a week, dh and other helper spent Saturday out doing said job. I've put 250 more business miles on the car this month than normal. We've just been running back and forth and working as hard as we can.

I'll get back when I can. Checked J&C first, been thinking about everyone.

Home from Montreal. Arrived home exactly when I expected I would (the stop along the way included a rest stop for my traveling companion and dropping him at his home.) I hadn't counted on the much longer route he took me to his home (added 15 minutes) but I enjoyed chatting with him about the area (near where I grew up.)

I did get out to the reception and then to the pub last night. Found one member of my posse and she didn't want to go out alone but did want to go, so we went together and then met up with people there. Got home at 11:40, in bed at midnight.

Up at 6:15 in order to get to the 7 a.m. service which was a walk for Reconciliation since we couldn't be part of the big walk in Ottawa.

Finally got to attend a worship service. It was nice. The business part of the meeting this morning was interesting as well.

I'm exhausted now and will go to bed for a nap. No idea what we're having for supper.

I'm slowly, steadily working toward getting packed. Putting like things with "like". Some things I am deciding to leave here. For instance do I really need to pack 2 new boxes (100 each) of lancets. I've got at least that many going with me already. If I ran out I could order more but I doubt that will be the case. Some clothes I've decided to leave. Now I just need to jot down those things I'm leaving here so I don't go searching up home.

Went to church this morning. Found dpastor had left some things in the announcement side that were outdated and I just didn't catch it. I did sort of do the bulletin for next Sunday and sent it to him. Now if he will only use this as his template the margins and everything should be correct. Wish I could do it from 1300 miles away but I don't think I can. The other secretary will be back from MI around the middle of August.

Went to lunch with 6 others after church. Had a very nice time.

Unfortunately we had gone to the pool store and picked up 3 gallons of chlorine for the water pump. On the way home dd looked back and thought it was spilling out into her jeep (OH am I ever glad we didn't use my fairly new car!). She pulled off and looked but determined she couldn't do anything until we got home. Sadly 1 can had sloshed all over the back of her car. They were finally able to clean that up but the carpet is ruined. Dsonil was really in a snit over this. THEN they discovered that it had leaked down below and ruined even more of it. DD tried to convince him that it's a "car" and has 100,000 miles on it. He's so angry right now but I'm sure it's more than the car. It was an accident. She is calling the pool place however to tell them one of their containers was defective and she has about 1 quart of chlorine left in the one container. Say nothing about the damage it did. Don't know what dd would have done differently on the trip home. She had her church clothes on for one. He'll get over it.

Not excusing dsonil, b/c some men are just high strung like that -- HA HA I am not naming names but the one I live with, I sometimes refer to as Ralph Kramden/Barney Fife and last night, Sgt. Carter -- BUT... I am sure the tension in the household over the last forever, and especially the last few weeks, has been bubbling up in other areas, seemingly non-related to dgd completely, but it all has to be based in this cloud you have all been living under. Praying so much that things will calm down SOON SOON SOON with this week's events.

Slow day here... but I am so proud of myself for finishing the vacuuming last night, and for getting my Sunday chores done before I settled down to read the paper and nap.

Also sending lots of (((BIG HUGS))) and good wishes to Harmony! Y'all have been under a lot of stress lately too, it seems...

Hmmm... (((LadyM))) is probably going to need some hugs after an afternoon at C C!

Me too, Lucy Lee. And I'm sure it's more than the accident in the car. It was probably the 'last straw' for him. He'll settle down. Not usually like this. I haven't heard any of it -only second hand. DD plans to go to W M for dye tomorrow and paint the carpet where it needs it -after it's dry.

Net has been out play offs again seems to be a reoccuring theme. Wrnt on a drice neatly 300 mi. With h yeaterday was goid to see the counrty side glzd to be ho e ane chickens were fine.

I had the wrong week for spinning mtg. So was glad I went it was fun. Got some white edged sage and tri colored sage and by-colored mint & a copper colored lily, 2 more tomato planted them other stuff can wait. It was fun in the jeep yesterday.
