(((Dee & family))) living in continual max stress mode is so very hard. I hope this coming week brings relief.

I decided keeping up with 2 little ones at C&Cheese was going to be hard to do, so I txt DD and asked her to met us there and watch DGD4 play at the party. DD agreed. When LO, DGD4 and I were one block away from C&Cheese, DGD4 calmly announced "I pooped in my pants." DGD4 never has this type of accident, so I don't know why she did it. DD took DGD4 to her apartment and cleaned her up while LO and I attended the Birthday Party. DD didn't bring DGD4 back to C&C to attend the party so we picked DGD4 up from DD and brought her back home with us. DGD4 was devastated that she didn't get to attend the birthday party at C&C.

LO and DGD4 are at VBS. I stayed awhile, but they are well staffed and there was nothing for me to do. I came home for an hour then will return for the end of VBS program.

Proud mama brag:

Ds called. He woke up to an email today saying the woman he performed CPR on was released from the cardiac ICU. Her family wanted him to know that he saved a life. The daughter even sent a photo of her with her sister and her mom at the sister's wedding just 2 months ago.

He says he does lots of nice things for people (including working 16.5 hours yesterday to cover shifts for people) but nothing can match the feeling that he made a difference in the world like this. He was practically crying when he told us.

Kathryn, that's lovely. Must have been so meaningful for you and Ken. I had almost commented before, but knew there was a distinct possibility the lady didn't make it.

I have two young sleepover guests who will expect a snack soon.

And sending thanks for the off duty paramedic who got me out of swamp rollover, while I was unconscious, many years ago.

Sunday news.
I did get to church.
It was the anniversary of my dds baptismal day (I remembered as 2 young boys were brought up for baptism.) so I rang both in the afternoon.
dd1 may get a promotion to 2ic in city store. dgks doing well. dgd new to HS is still tired with the increased work load. But has found her place in that huge school. (as the first year of changed school age requirements there are 50% more cldn in her year, so I'm guessing 700-800 students in her year level.)
we talked mobile phones. I'll probably get the one on sale at tj's. It is the same as dgd's. (I'd wondered. It was stuck in an unopenable til bought box when I looked at it on Saturday. I couldn't decide. we spoke of plans too. I need plan a day to get back there to buy it. and get a sim card. That phone is unlocked. (not tied to one provider)
She told me of the 6 mth long plans she has for dgks, and I'll compare it with another with a 365 day plan.
dd2 is doing some serious decluttering. Has gotten her 2 into family day care one day a week to get some unhelped time. dd2 has had serious sentimental attachment to things so this is huge for her.
dgd4 is doing 'spontaneous maths'. dd is aiming for home schooling at this point.

helper is coming today so I have things to do first.

Weekend Check In:
The library's big book sale fundraiser yesterday was fun and exhausting. We had a boy scout who was earning service hours by helping our customers carry heavy bags of books up the stairs. He was a sweetheart. Four committee members stayed with me through almost all of the clean up, which was a huge help. I still need to do a final count of the money and prepare the bank deposit slip.

DMIL's health has been up and down and she has had many serious complications since she broke her leg. She was still in the hospital until this afternoon. She has been moved to hospice care so that her remaining days will be much more peaceful. All the family is glad that she will soon be pain-free and back with DFIL.

My library paid work schedule this week will be intense. Of course, all is subject to change depending on DMIL situation, but the planned schedule is:
Mon: normal evening shift 5 hours
Tue: new morning shift which will continue all summer 4-5 hours?
Wed/Thu/Fri: 6 to 8 hours each day, all hands on deck
Sat: possible 2-4 hours but not probable

The library closes for 4 days each summer during the TinyTown festival because the streets around us are closed for carnival rides and the carnival employees' campers. (The side street where the campers usually park is already blocked off for our construction, so I don't know where the campers will be this time.) We use the days to catch up on things that can't be done while patrons are coming in -- like taking inventory, cleaning carpets, major repairs, etc.

This week apparently we will be assigned misc. projects that will in theory help the busy summer go smoother and also help us to survive being under construction for another 9 months. I'm going to assume that it'll be similar to any remodeling project: we will spend the 1st day making a mess, the 2nd day dealing with the mess, and the 3rd day cleaning up the mess.

Tomorrow morning I need to run errands, take the sewing group newsletter to the printer and get it ready to mail, and buy groceries. In addition, I need to begin normal month-end bookkeeping tasks for the sewing and library volunteer groups.

I think maybe I should pay special attention to planning meals with lots of vitamins!

Our good thoughts to your DS, Kathryn. Know how proud it can make a Mom when their child does something like this. Glad to hear she's at least making this much progress. This line of work can surely have its rewards while it has its downside. Harriet can tell us this as can I. Our dsons (including yours, Kathryn) make a difference in a lot of lives, whether it's seen or unseen. Dh has had his share of these stories too and they all work together to make them the men they are.

What I find interesting is that despite the SHEs diverse backgrounds, many of us have raised children who literally save lives. There must be something in the water of this village!

Booksaver, I'm sorry to read about your dmil. I guess she won't be coming home now?

Sure nice to be back. It's just been such a hectic time here. I don't know how DH does it. I can tell by his attitude how stressed he is...but he doesn't moan and groan like I do. I did some payroll work this evening (it took me a while to find the 4 cents I was off) and I told him just what it all cost him this month having all this extra help...and he was a little shocked. Yeah, this is what happens when we're this busy.

Tried to help him "bleed" the brakes on the pickup last evening, but it didn't work well, so he suspects the master cylinder. He just changed the master cylinder on another truck last week, and that was a bunch of running around to get the part. Helper who had to go to the hospital says he'll be back on Friday. Thank goodness, it could have been so much worse.

But the big bugger was the computer went bad again a week after it was fixed the first time. This time it needed a new hard drive. Other computer she fixed up for us didn't have enough ports for our stuff and DH wanted our old one back instead, so we were back to square one fixing it...but it is finally here. I'd decided it should be up off the ground where we could reach it better. So we moved it to the other side of the monitor and that meant the battery backup, had to be moved. And the modem. We found a couple more wires down there in the pile of stuff that weren't needed and managed to get it hooked up without the extra port; I took a little stereo system out of here because we never used it so that was a few more wires and extension cord. What a mess everything was!

I crawled around and got everything really cleaned up good. All the speakers work now for the first time in ages. Life seems so chaotic these days my anxiety is through the roof, which makes my claustrophobia worse. Any messes around make that worse. So this is way more peaceful all cleaned up now. I even got some more stuff off the kitchen counters put away behind doors and that is way better visually for me.

Anyway, I feel like I've got some control in my life back. There was a couple days I thought I wouldn't get through all this. Thursday, my dsMiL brought me a pressure washer and generator she was getting rid of and she and I managed to get it out of her van. That was a challenge with her bad arm and my 1 sore shoulder. Oh, the compressor on the job broke and dh and I loaded the big monster one from our shop into car and took that over. It is always something, or more, or more...

Have a backlog of work to do now that I have a working computer...it will continue to be busy around here!
