I'm just dragging around today, no one's fault but my own. I don't know what it is about Saturdays... some kind of holdover from work life that makes me think, "Okay -- it's my day to do nothing!" Maybe that would be okay, if I got a little more done M-F.

I am in desperate need of direction, Twins!
I hope we can get some pressure washing done before this summer is over, too... but dh just flips out at the mention of any additional "projects."

I certainly know what you mean about being worn out after spending time with those little ones, Harmony! I currently have only ONE little one to chase... and * whew * if he spends the night -- just one night -- by the time he goes home I am exhausted!

And hello to Nancy! I am sipping my second diet Pepsi of the day, which I normally would have saved for supper time... but I just feel so sluggish, I thought maybe more caffeine would help. I have just lay around and dozed all day. I saw about half of each of these programs -- Big Valley, Gunsmoke, and Bonanza. I could not tell you a thing about the plot of any of them.

I think I'm just going to have to press re-start and get this day going better. While browsing the internet during my morning laziness, I also read a F lylady post where she even admitted that sometimes she has to "start over" even at 2:00 p.m. Bed unmade, toilets un-s/s, etc. So if the F lylady can have days like this, I can pull myself out of this do-nothing mood and start over, too.

I am pulling my hair out. I think I am just "over peopled" these days. The phone keeps ringing or I keep getting messages, every time I sit down at my computer someone comes through talking to me. I tried to take a nap - or at least have some downtime with a 45 min timer going and ds came in talking loudly. Dh has gone to the pool (Finally - he won't be underfoot!) and dkids are upstairs.

DD and I went to Lowes for mulch, to drop off stuff at Goodwill, and to an antique/junk place to see if they could fix a wooden chair for me. The guy who owns it will have the person who does his repairs do it for $20 - at least it will be done instead of sitting in the garage.

Note to Lucylee: Before I even finished the last "round" dh had directed me to go to Lowes. I can't stay on task even when I try. Outside, trying to pull the front porch back together, ds was running at full speed and then getting mulch on the freshly washed porch.

I'm not sure I'm being all that productive but I'm having a reasonable day.

The blind installer is in the kitchen now which is keeping me from eating. I'll chop veggies for dinner after he moves onto the office. The first two blinds have taken over 90 minutes so far to install. This is ridiculous. Apparently because the ceiling isn't level (neither left to right across the window nor from the other side of the room to wall with the window) and the ceiling and walls are concrete with plaster, installation has been a problem from start to finish.

Anyway, the blind by the kitchen work area is perfect. I can still see the view through it, but the light is diffused as if it is a cloudy day so it leaves the work area well-lit but not under the glare of hot sun.

I've updated quicken, scanned my preaching license renewal form and added the image to my invoice master for this year. I've finished the tidying and putting my 'purse' (actually a back pack) back together (I had a real purse for last night since I was dressed up.) I've searched and searched and have to give my paycheque up for lost. Thankfully my employer (me) is understanding and will write another one.

I also took the time to go through my Presbytery records and realize that the second nearest church's minister just left on sabbatical so we'll go to my childhood church tomorrow and see what it is like now. Our village church knows we won't be there this week despite it being Sunday School closing.

I have roused myself enough to go out and walk 1 mile.
This was brought on by disgust w/my weight. I was searching swimsuits on Wmart site, b/c they advertise one that I really like -- and it seems I may need one, b/c dgs is getting old enough to go to the pool and, although I do let ds/ddil go w/out us, by pool rules, they really should not do that. It is a membership-only pool, and dh and I are the "members." DS/DDIL do not pay dues, so they should only go as our "guests." The fact that we have paid dues for 36 years, yet actually only used the pool for probably half that time doesn't really count for anything. (But that is my reasoning in allowing them to use it unaccompanied.) Anyway, dfriend down the road told me to bring dgs sometime when she had her grandchildren with her, so I'm thinking, yeah, that might be fun, but ooohhh... I truthfully can't remember the last time I had on a swimsuit.

So... looking at the suits, and disgusted, b/c my top half is not quite a 14, but my bottom half is a tiny bit more than a 16.
Now... how you gonna fit THAT body into a suit???
Separates, of course, but it is still disgusting. And I am not about to pay $100 for a suit, that is for certain. So Wmart prices or nothing.

Anyway, I walked a mile and now I'm sipping water.

Editing, after looking at L and's E nd site... which is too expensive for the amount of wear I will put into a swimsuit anyway, but -- question --
What kind of swimsuits do grown women even wear these days? I mean, will a skirted suit make me look just really dorky? I've never worn one before, but with hips like this, I am REALLY considering it this time.
Heck, I may just spring for the "women's board shorts" -- which look just like men's swim trunks -- and call it a day. No worries about shaving a bikini line then, either, LOL!!!

Lucylee: thankfully at the pool where I swim at least half the women or more have awful bodies too and don't seem to care. That helps a lot.

That being said, I have two bathing suits at the moment. One was $100 and is separates (my body shape is almost exactly yours, except one size up.) Sort-of board-shorts for the bottom in black and a purple top that comes down over the bottoms but is loose so flows a bit. I've worn the top with shorts or a skirt when I needed a lighter top while on the cruise.

My other one is a full coverage suit which helps me with my poor self-image (covering up a good deal of the dangly arm bits and my cellulite and varicose veins on my legs.) Here's a link. It is $62 and protects from the sun so is worth the price. BTW: the company was excellent, the suit fit perfectly (my huge worry buying online and across border) and it came fairly quickly.

Ah, the blind installer is done. The kitchen looks amazing, off to check out the office.

Edited to add: the office is perfect too. I'm so relieved. I've put off buying anything for so long because I wasn't sure what would go. Dh is so relieved because I hired someone to do the install instead of ordering blinds online and then getting him to do the work (which is what the people downstairs did.) It took the professional almost 3 hours to do the install (2 hours for the first room and under an hour for the second room.)

I bought a new swimsuit but have yet to wear it. I'm in the swim pool every day now but have been wearing a dress I bought for a cover up. When I bought it, I had no intention of wearing it to swim. But at the start of swim season I wasn't organized and did things in the wrong order. I got DGD4 & LO dressed in their swimsuit but that left them by the pool all excited about getting in. There was no way I was leaving them to go get my swimsuit so I just tossed the dress on. My thought process was it was a better solution than wearing jeans!!! I discovered it dries very quickly and is super easy to put on/take off. I will wear suimsuit eventually ....

Farmer's mkt. Was fun. Got some low sugar jam in 2 flavors. And califlour & lettuce. Stopped by a yd sale on the way home got some jeans that fit, and other things as wdll. Got the empty bags & potting containers out of here as well. The spinning mtg. Went okay got a couple of plants to put in as well.

Too tired to cook dinner (leftovers re-worked) so we walked over to the pub for 1/2 price fajita night. We love 1/2 price fajita night (and 1/2 price burger night on Mondays.)

At the pub we watched the Canadian women's team win their first FIFA World-Cup soccer game of this tournament. In front of a home-country crowd, too. The matches are played all over Canada, including here in Ottawa but this one was in Edmonton, I think. Germans are playing here, not sure who else.

It has been a very good 36 hours or so, every hour or two we think about how much we love living here.

Lucylee, the swimsuits at Lands End, while expensive, will last forever. I like their "tankini" separates that come in different sizes for top and bottom; they also have some with "tummy" support and all that. I am a 16, top and bottom, but fill out the bottom more fully (actually, I probably fill out the middle more than the bottom or bust... ) I love the tankini concept, i.e. separates for top and bottom, because there's nothing worse than pulling a damp, tight swimsuit with tummy support off and on to go to the potty. And let me tell you, you really see everything at the beach and/or pool - don't let it stop you from enjoying the pool with dgs!!!

Thanks for the links, LadyM & Kathryn! I see what you mean about full-coverage, Kathryn, but hmmm... that is awfully snug across the tummy. That is my most horrible spot. I left out my abdomen measurement, which is almost identical to my hips, so if you look at my profile, I look sorta like this:

Sad. But the rear end doesn't bother me as much as the tummy-pooch, for some reason. (LOL -- I guess b/c I can't SEE it as well!!! )

Enjoyed watching the Belmont Stakes, even though I'm really not all that into horse racing. I cannot relate to that kind of lifestyle at all, you know? I mean, there is no telling how much money all those people have and I've never been much of a horse-y person to begin with. I had a shetland pony when I was little, but he wouldn't even let anyone put a saddle on him, so I was always kinda skittish around him. My granddaddy got him free w/the purchase of a washing machine!

I'm doing laundry, so dh can do his towel marathon washing starting tomorrow.
Dmom called and wanted to know if we were coming out her way anytime soon, and I was honest and told her we'd being going to a movie after the Braves game, but that I would be glad to come out and bring her whatever she needed right now, and she said no, she could come to town herself. I told her three times I would be glad to run the errand for her, but she seemed okay.

Just saw Twins' comment, too! Thanks. I'm thinking the tankini is definitely my best bet. IKWYM about having to pull off a one-piece suit all tight and clammy... They had some really cute tops with some ruffles and bottoms with short skirts. But really, I will not be spending a lot of time over there (at the pool) anyway, so I don't want to put a lot of $ into it at all. I'm going to check LLBean also, but they are probably just as pricey if not more so -- and then I'll be searching Wmart and Target.
