Elizabeth, only the two split persons get to decide how amiable the households will be, going forward. Friends have never gotten to decide, unless the friends were Hollywood publicists trying to help their clients stay in the headlines. It would be more convenient for her if you were all content to hang out at her house at the same time, but it was never about her. I think this is a friend to meet somewhere for lunch every once in a while. If visits at her home are unhappy, consider stopping reciprocal visits to your home, and then at least the "oughts" and "shoulds" will ease up, though you are still friends.

If a friend couldn't even tell that I was uncomfortable and unhappy around the other invited guests, I would be worried about their observation skills. If they knew and surprised me with it, I would play a practical joke right back on them, because that must be what we're doing now.

Yes, dd does go to school tomorrow. She picks up her summer assignments for her AP 2-dimensional Art class next year and has a meeting with the new-to-her teacher. i don't know if this is really a portfolio class, but the info she has up to now sounds like it could be. This will be the first time she has ever taken a challenging art class, because every time she tried before the need for other college-track scheduling or prerequisites nixed it. This time the graphic design teacher just requested a waiver of prerequisites on her say-so. This lady is also in charge of the the Nat'l Art Honor Society chapter, really knows dd's work, and principal was inclined to allow it.

A quick hello from Doveland!

Back from a long trip to big city hospital with dfriend who had an appointment with a specialist there. We left early, navigated parking, had lunch in the cafeteria & after her appointment picked up tea & coffee & got right back on the road. It was nice to miss rush hour traffic both ways.

A late dinner is in the oven. While that has been cooking I've managed to catch up a little in the SHE village. It is another busy week here & I'm already looking forward to a quiet weekend!

DGS spent the night with us and has been here most of the day, so that is about all I have "tackled" for the day.

So glad Dee arrived safely -- in spite of some pretty scary moments on the road, sounds like! Your guardian angel was definitely riding alongside!

Dee - Welcome Home!

LO last ballgame of the season is now history. The finished the regular season with another win. It was HOT and LO was playing 3rd base which meant he was looking directly into the evening sun. Each time LO came into the dugout I made sure he took a drink of water. He acted as if the heat didn't bother him and was always ready to go stare into the sun again each time they took the field.

This Saturday starts a week long end-of-the-season TBall tournament. Each team has to lose twice so I know LO will play at least 2 games. Last year his team lost the first game they played in the tournament, then won over and over until they came all the way from the bottom on the loser bracket to play the winning team. I can't remember how many games LO & teammates played in a row but it was too many (IMHO) for their age and heat. They were exhausted. I'm hoping for a quick tournament this year, or at least cooler weather.

DH has returned to MPB to work for several hours. Since we arrived home I've loaded & started the DW. Also moved LOL to dryer and started another load in washer. Hum.....I just realized I have the DW and washer going at same time. I have tried to limit the amount of water going to our septic system at the same time since we flooded. The ground over the septic tank & lines has dried up some and doesn't squish when you walk on the grass now. Hopefully our septic system will be able to handle 2 water producing servants running at the same time.

Our 2 local towns are still in near emergency status with the lagoons flooded. These lagoons are what handles the sewer system for the majority of the homes in the towns. They can't open the public kiddie splash pads yet because it would put too much water into the lagoons. Compared to the drought, this is a good problem to have!

I'm tackling bedtime now.

Kitchen is cleaned up and dishwasher opened so the dishes will air dry. I got most of the weekly kitchen chores done today. Still have dusting to do (from yesterday) and didn't touch zone work today. Those can wait until tomorrow. Had fun editing instead and enjoyed a movie with dh and ds.

got friend to buy tickets for me - for dalai lama's teaching tomorrow and Friday.

breakfast has happened.
found a chatzy add group was on so did half of that.

I have things to do now. Not much energy but. on the agenda.
bath
pack for me, also food.
get prepaid mobile phone up and working.
drive to city.
get my dinner organised. dd says her casserole won't suit me for gluten, at least.
Get dd/dsil to help me get my tickets printed for 8am security check queue tomorrow.

ps - glad Dee made it safely up north.
