I have 9 grain bread in the freezer, h will have a sandwich with it. I had a salad & cookie for lunch. Have not done my walk yet nor ex bike yet. Okay did that.
H. Ate the planned left overs for lunch so for dinner I was scrambling a bit.

I am the only one who will eat Ezekiel bread here, so it is usually not a value to buy, but I've still had it sometimes. HRH says that in theory I could keep it frozen and have just a slice or two at a time if I re-closed very well. The packaging it comes in might not be secure enough, so it might require some extra thinking to do that.
So delighted to report that dd35 is continuing to have wonderful luck with her "Mindful Eating" program (and the book, Mindful Eating), along with a 15-week online record keeping/learning program offered at reduced price because she is a state employee.
She's really slimming a lot.
And because she has stopped breast-feeding her youngest now (he just turned one), it seems even more profound.
She has her T-Tapp videos with her, along with one yoga video she says is relaxing to her, and while she's here she wants to walk in the mornings.

Happy along with you, that you got to hear from your healthily flowing artery, LadyM!
Nancy, I should try that zippered baggie plan. It would probably save me money and not take up much space.
nuts - I am putting my seed and nut eating with meals lately. Was impressed with the Fuhrman book's info on the fats aiding absorption of the other good things in veggies/fruits. Do agree though, that they are a good snack for curbing appetite, and I miss that option a little.
Will try to catch up with dsecondbil to learn what his way-of-eating etc., has been recently, because he is showing off a 40-pound weight loss. I've never seen him so slim. I wasn't able to stop and chat when he came to visit yesterday as I was heading out the door with dd16.

Re: Health and Fitness, June, 2015
Yesterday I was in the local high school pool at 6:15am swimming laps. Did 250 meters...mostly breast strokes with about 75 meters worth of free style. Have to work up to 400 meters by Oct. Good start though. I can only get in about 10 free style strokes in my pool at home. Have a kick board so on the days I don't lap swim will concentrate on my kicking in my pool.
Even though I am in water, I won't attempt any swimming while the temps are so high. Pool water is in the 92-95 degree range at the moment so the heat still tend to get to me. Five am tomorrow morning I will meet up with my friends to hike the "hill" by my house. Its only .6 of a mile to the top, but the elevation is really great. I have a "cool towel" which has gel in it that I keep in the refrig. and then drape around my neck and shoulders when I hike. Temps are already around 85* even that early in the morning, but because the sun is not too strong I can manage it most times.
Did 4.5 miles on my gazelle yesterday and another 3.2 today. I need to start lifting weights...hand held ones...If I want to maintain the muscle I have spent the last 7 months working on. I no longer have "bat wings" under my arms and I'd like to keep it that way

Re: Health and Fitness, June, 2015
My weight is up higher than I like. It's due in part to my migraine preventive meds. Think I will scale it back a bit because I'm not in my cycle time. That's usually starts up around sept. I don't worry abt an occasional on during my "off" time. However if they begin to reoccur closer together then I will get back on them.
I was up and hiking at 5 this morning. So that's 1.5 miles up and down and around the butte. I am starting my weight routine today and am interested to see how much time it will take.
Weight framing keeps your body in burning mode for 36-48 hours. I will be using hand weights... 5,8 and 10 lbs depending on what I am doing.
It will be 113-115* today so I doubt I will swim here at home. However I am meeting my friend again tomorrow to walk the track and bleachers and will swim a few laps while I'm there. I should be in the water by 6:15am. It costs me $2 each time I swim which is much cheaper than a summer pass.
Got to get this weight off no matter what it takes. I've been eating clean so I'm sure it must be the meds. Weight gain is a side effect, but while I was taking it before my weight was up already.

Re: Health and Fitness, June, 2015
I'm trying a few nuts and a small glass of milk before bed tonight to see if that helps with the sleep quality. It did nothing for me two nights ago (it was an awful sleep) so it might be that I need to sleep on an empty stomach.
Went the whole day today without taking pain meds. The problem with being told to take them regularly, not when you need them, is that you don't know when you no longer need them. Today I missed my morning one and meant to take it at lunch but forgot and by dinner it was obvious I wasn't going to need it. I will take something before bed because I've done 12K steps today so know I'll be sore through the night.
Dh had a good hike today with no knee pain on the way down the hill. He finally agreed to buying insoles for his boots and dress shoes since his feet have been 'burning' when he stands still and then his first hike was bad for knee pain, something he's never had. With the insoles (which I've been trying to get him to buy for the past 6 months) he is fine both standing in dress shoes (important during a choir performance or on a Sunday) and hiking.
