Finished the sermon and the prayers of the people. Redid the door wreath while waiting for the baseball game to end, then dh and I went over to the festival. Parked our bikes in the secure bike parking lot and then walked the festival from one end to the other. There should have been music on but the stage was empty.
Turns out there's a problem. It is a completely solar run stage and something went wrong. It has been fully sunny all day and there was 3 - 4 hours of sunlight left in the day but the panels were in shade from all the buildings (think NYC.) They were scrambling to get a portable generator large enough to run the stage. This was the company's first 'live' test of the solar powered festival stage and I can't help but think it might have been a good idea to have a backup generator around the corner, you know, in case it rained all day (they said the panels store 6 hours of sunlight in batteries but that's no good here after about mid-August since they'll need more than 6 hours of lights.
Anyway, we picked up the bikes, picked up the groceries (skipped the bank, again) and then biked home. We have a cooked chicken and sides so dinner will be shortly.
I checked the FB page of the festival and the 5:45 act got on stage a few minutes ago. That puts the headliner at 10:30 unless they shorten up sets or cut the two other performers who were to play this evening. I've asked what the plan is through their FB feed. Since the headliner was always going on after dark, we were going to walk over. But since we have to be out of here by 8:45 in the morning, I don't want to be out much past 10:30 (the original end-time of the concerts.) So we may miss the show tonight, or at least sit on the balcony and see if we can hear it (we could hear music from there this morning.)

Desperately sore and tired so heading to bed as soon as I pack up my preaching bag and my singing bag.
In the morning, I'll deal with freezing meat and prepping the veggies for the potluck.

Re: SATURATED SATURDAY
Kinda busy today trying to get ready for trip -- we leave tomorrow and we'll be home Wed.
I've got to put sheets back on the bed, but I haven't really had a very hectic day -- just got my clothes together for dh to pack, ran a couple errands, washed another load of clothes... But it's generally been a restful day.

Helia, I'm glad you went to a running store and got their recommendation for the correct type of running shoes for your feet. I love the brand you chose although I wear stability shoes. Hope you have many fun miles running.
