Getting a fresh start, now I can think of what to put by the patio to go with violets I have here already. With the new rose arbor in. I have cleaned the patio and gotten it put back together. In a bed I have waited to plant maybe some fall bulbs!

I have on a new to me Elmo shirt aka "work shirt". Later on I will be sorting the stuff I pruned off and ome branches and small stuff that can go in trash can with wheels.

Roo is out now too.

I have some pork country ribs thawing to go in the crock pot later in the day for dinner.

Good morning all! And a VERY early morning it has been for me. At 4 am, foster cat of questionable ancestry lets out this blood-curdling wild-sounding yowl/growl/snarl, loud and wild enough to set your hair on end. The motion sensor lights turned on and when I got my glasses, I could see a car pulling out of my driveway.

My weekend went well. I turned 51 on Saturday, but am celebrating at a more convenient time tonight with one set of friends and Sunday with another. My friends are taking me out to dinner tonight. I hope my chicken friend has enough sense not to invite the x and the other woman, no guarantees with her. I survived feeding the youth group. It was good that I had gotten two turkeys. There were leftovers, but one would not have been enough. The leftovers have been put in the refrigerator, but tonight, I need to portion them out and move some to the freezer.

I may have figured out the smell! Sunday, I realized that the sink on the disposal side was horrifically slow. Turning on the disposal to clear it resulted in water flow from two cracks in the unit. New unit has been obtained, but not yet installed. My XM radio also broke this weekend, probably because it fell out of its shelf into a glass of tea.

After DD13 left, I paid bills, balanced the checkbook, and started organizing this week's task list. While procrastinating on those items, I cleaned in the kitchen and the master bath. The former still has much to go, the latter is almost done.

I found out my parents are moving, thank goodness NOT to an apartment! Mom is sure that an apartment would be wonderful, Dad did not want to be without a yard. I also know Mom would be disillusioned quickly. If the neighbors are too loud, Dad need only remove his hearing aids, Mom would be out of luck. They found a patio home.

lucylee: I would recommend a CAT for your DDIL. Some dogs are useful as mousers also. But for guaranteed results, an ex-street cat will keep you pest free and love it.

DeeClutter: I have had good results with diatomaceous earth for ants and similar pests. It has the added benefit of being non-toxic. Pets and kids can EAT it without ill effect (but I doubt it tastes good).

I'm up and was fairly productive and then my sister called and took an hour to give me the dates she needs a place to stay. She couldn't just give me the dates, she needed to give me the whole background of why she's coming (sick friend, who I also know) and what she'll be doing while here.

The two blocks of time she has available are fine for her to stay here. She was looking at her calendar and said, "I have something on the 29th" and I had to point out it was with me! (She's coming to the baseball game we're going to.)

We topped up the water in the waterbed this morning and I cleaned the vinyl bag, put on a fresh mattress cover and fresh sheets. I've run two loads of laundry already, have one more to go.

This afternoon is physio and errands. The weather turned nice so it will be on my bike.

I am alternating chores one inside and one outside today. This morning I have done two rounds outside with 2 trash cans full cleaning up the branches I pruned yesterday and the dishes are going stop the boredom! This is helping and works for some exercise too!

I think this is our hottest day of the year so far - heading to a high of 92. Last real rain I think was last Monday when the evening festival events were rained out. I watered most of the plants yesterday but need to fertilize the tomatoes, peppers et al. My basil has been growing like crazy. I need to harvest some and freeze because we haven't kept up - I think there's still pesto from dd's last batch.

We'll do pizza for tonight or leftovers - dh is bowling so it's only me and kids.

I eventually went back to bed and slept another couple of hours and am beginning to feel less exhausted. DD went out early to meet dh and then she ran most of her other errands and she is taking a timed nap herself now, and she will start her packing at four p.m. and I'll keep her company.

I need to finish a.m. routine (I'm still in pajamas) and run out to the bank for some cash for her. Aunt P gave her graduation cash - whoops, she also needs to write that thank you note.

The toys & stuff I got at the yd sale is a hit 2day. Sun glasses for our walk, toy nemo cell phone etc. Made the walk more fun. Was a bit late for it and hot out of the shade.

Dishes need unloaded they are done.
Got some mail out to the mail bo on time yea.
Watched u tube on how to make tie fisherman wrap pants might pratice this concept on doll clotnes 1st.
lunch is done.
Got 3 half full trash cans of yd trash moved to the front yd.
Hand wash done.

Elizabeth I hope you have a great birthday celebration. Happy belated Day to you.

HRH surprised me and took me out to lunch. Always a nice idea, but he is not the best person to dine with when things are not quite right. Sigh. I will have to admit there were problems, including some undercooking that was visually obvious , and the servers were making their own share of mistakes. (Some big whipped cream-covered item was set in front of me before we even got our meal, and I sputtered, "I don't recognize this." ) I can choose not to let it ruin enjoyment of a moment, but he just has a hard time with it.

I'm frustrated that some mildew has appeared in the master bath. Lysol time.

Dh and I have the house to ourselves at the moment. Ddil, her dmom and youngest dsis, dgd-H, dgs-C have taken her dsis's children to the pool. Her dsis leaves early tomorrow morning for her own home. The house will seem empty! When they return from swimming we will make a trip to the grocery store (not everyone will go along). I have a short list started of a few things I need to pick up.

I woke at 5:30 this morning as ds-T was leaving for work, but was able to sleep for a couple of hours more. By that time dh was up so I got up and dressed, made the bed and ate breakfast. When everyone left for the pool I made lunch for dh and me, a grilled cheese sandwich - split with dh - and we each had a cup of tea. Dgd-H's dfriend-D just came home from an outing with another of his dfriends and it sounds like he is getting some lunch now, too.

Elizabeth, sounds like you have an excellent watch cat! BTW --- HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Twins, safe travel wishes for dd on her summer adventure. Also for your trip to the big city and home again tomorrow.

Harriet, it does take some getting used to a quiet house when dkids first leave, even if it is only for a week at first. Sigh! --- new routines to learn.

Sounds like Papa is doing dishes...I better go help!

Back from physio (boy it hurt me as she worked me!) and then banking and picked up chocolate milk for tomorrow. Apparently I need a major snack part way through the testing.

Dh is at a movie and will pick up Chinese for his dinner tonight. I'll have a frozen lasagna and salad. Should have little trouble staying within my calorie allotment today.
