Tuesday on the Run

Post by BookSaver »

Good morning, villagers ~
Need to keep moving but wanted to check in.

Oof what a day yesterday.
In the morning I ran up to DMIL's house to work in the garage sorting through things that had come out of the house. (The house has been listed for sale so most everything that is left has been moved to the garage rather than cluttering up the house.) I am proud of myself that I only brought home a few misc. mementos -- a small antique phone table that DH can use as a nightstand, a lamp to replace one of ours that is broken, a few dishes ... It was hot and rainy so I came out a mess.

In spite of looking like a drowned rat, I was close enough to the WM up there to run in for a few groceries. It took longer than I expected because their store is arranged differently than the one I usually shop, but it saved me a trip later this week.

Then I raced home to eat some lunch and s2s for work.
Work was really busy, which I guess I should quit pointing out because apparently that will be the norm all summer. I need to stock up on ibuprofin for aches & pains.

After work at 8:30 I had to cook myself some supper since there was no chance to eat my snack at work. Then I returned a phone call, replied to a couple emails, folded a load of laundry and started a new load, and made a bowl of chicken salad for today's staff meeting luncheon.

I also had to troubleshoot the computer before I could type emails. The keyboard wouldn't work. Restarting the computer didn't help, so I fiddled with the cable & restarted again, which luckily seems to have fixed it at least temporarily. I hope it was just caused by the cat bumping it since lately she has insisted on laying on my desk and nudging the keyboard aside.

This morning I have to be to work by 9 so I'm glad I did that laundry last night. I finished the chicken salad (added more dressing and a little chopped celery) so that's ready to go.

I think I need 1 more quick cup of coffee before I s2s.
Hope y'all have a great day.

eta: I didn't have time to cuop fully but did see mention of Dee's fall down the steps. (((Dee)))

Good morning, BookSaver. I feel compelled to say, "And what are you doing in your SPARE time?" :) I'm very impressed with how much you are getting done these days.

Have fun buying yarn, Nancy. Btw, I loved reading about how toddlerN hung on to the doll you sticthed up for her.

Lynlee, that was such a sweet post yesterday/night. Kind of the clerk at one store to tell you how to to find the product at a competitor.

Dee, how are you feeling today?

Today I have

Errands
Bank
Tarjay

Declutter
continue working in bathrooms for bathroom week
( I have stuff pulled out of cabinets! )

Good Morning!

Thinking of (((Kathryn))) this morning as she has stress test.

I am looking forward to an update from ((((Dee)))). Know the bruising will most likely be starting to show up. Take care DFriend!

My body is experiencing some weird things. After being up a couple hours with no problems I suddenly went to my knees when lower back pain hit me on my right side. It took me several minutes to be able to do anything other than breathe. I finally was able to make my way to the medication cabinet and pulled out a prescription pain tablet (Hydrocodone). It spoke volumes to me how much pain I was in because I take a baby aspirin a few times a year when I get an owie. The prescription Hydrocodone was there because I don't take them unless absolutely necessary. But the pain today was so severe that I by-passed all the light weight pain meds and went straight to the heaviest pain relief. I think the pain intensity was too much for a muscle cramp and leaves me wondering if I have a kidney stone. I am thankful the pain med is working and now I am just experiencing a dull back ache.

Oops. I didn't know it was Tuesday on the run and decided not to run this morning. It was an option since I won't go to work until @ 10:00 a.m. Oh well. Tomorrow, hopefully.

Have a productive day.

Well, there is no running here at ds & ddil's today. Ds-T left for work early - didn't hear him this morning at all; ddil-A and dgd-H took her dfriend-D to train station at 7 am and ddil's dsis left for home at 10 am with her four children and dniece. Now the house seems too quiet. I think everyone is in let down mode from the very busy weekend, and is doing their own thing! Ddil-A isn't feeling too well (taking S udafed for a cough) and is upstairs sleeping, dgd-H went to her dentist appointment, her dboyfriend-A went with her.

I'm sure we can now get back to a regular, normal routine. I have gathered enough laundry from dh and me and that is washing now. There is plenty of other things that need done: pick up and put away in all the public living areas and kitchen needs a good cleaning -- lots of dishes need done! I wouldn't mind getting started, but ddil's dmom is resting also!

There is other things I can do...I have made our bed and I brought a letter with me that I can answer. Now that the little girls suitcases are gone I can rearrange our suitcases better.

LadyM, I sure hope you are feeling better now!

Dee, I cringed when I read of your fall! Gentle ((hugs)) and heal quickly!

I'm going to read for a little while....

Checking in to see how Dee is feeling today. Wondering if she went to the Dr today or is just resting after her fall last night. She was the first thing I thought of when I woke up this morning. Praying often ...

Bookie, what a busy schedule. Way to go on getting groceries while you were already near the store.

Hope you feel better quickly, Nancy.

You have a busy day planned, too, Harriet. Disappointed along with you & dd that she no longer has a roommate.

((Lady M)), ow! I hope that sharp pain never returns. Glad the medication is helping, but concerned that the pain was so bad that you needed it.

Hi Blessed. Glad your dd had a place to stay so she didn't have to drive through the storm.

Have a good day at work, RunKitty.

Glad you had a nice visit with friends & family, Sunny.

I've joined the ranks of many here with shoulder problems & have been getting physical therapy twice a week after injuring mine. It's helping, & I've been good about doing my home exercises every day. A small blessing is that it's my left shoulder, & I'm right handed.

I'm off to have an early lunch before running off to an appointment. Waving ~~~~ to everyone.

Ok, I've been with the running program today. I was up at five and left here a little past six this morning to get dd to ATL airport in very heavy a.m. traffic. Got here there safely, got her checked in, and she was heading through security as we left. Ohhhhh, I am feeling so emotional. Anxious about the trip in general, anxious about her trip prep, sad about her leaving for so long, and relieved that she is gone for so long. She is certifiably not easy to deal with these days - wants to do things her way and she knows best.

I think the plan now is to wind down from the drive and then take a nap.
