Today and tomorrow are "traveling" days for me - today to see my dmom and tomorrow to see dsis. I was thrilled to see photos this morning from dd in Jordan. For those on Facebook, I shared them, I hope she doesn't mind too much.
PODA for today:
-errands that didn't happen yesterday and others
---Tar-jay
---office supply store
---get photos printed to send to dMacs' physical therapist (after long procrastination)
---camisoles for dsis
-body work
-pick up meals for dmom and visit
-what else?
Dh has an evening meeting tonight so I might squeeze in some stamping or genealogy time.

Twins' I know you must feel some relief that part of her journey is complete and safe.
traveling - Yesterday ds30 called and asked, "Where've you been?" I said, "I've been everywhere, man." , speaking of all my driving yesterday. He said, "I hear you, Johnny." (Cash)
But today, I plan much less. Unbelievably, I still have my bank errand, and now the vitamin store has become an errand, too. Happily, there are locations for each of those that are close together.
errands that didn't happen yesterday
could be a whole category of PODA for me on a daily basis
First, I need to wait on a bale of straw being delivered by my dsecondbil this a.m. That will eventually go in the henhouse but for now I'll store it in the storage barn.
I slept well last evening. Checked my email to see a Mercola newsletter story about new research into sleep. Wow, I've got to get serious about the regular bedtime/arising. Also mid-day sun hitting eyes, though I think I've got that.
Then I pulled up our regional paper's page and saw biggest headline lettering I've seen them use, and caught the tragic news from Charleston for the first time. Ds30 will be hit hard by this because he just loves that city.
1st I will travel to the hen house for feeding chores, need tp so will get that.
folks are coming here. Yarn mtg. And todlerN will be here later. Time for my meds. And to begin my a.m. routine. Slept in till 6.
I'll 'travel' just a little bit around the house today as I feel able. Had a pretty sleepless night but after dh got up around 5 I must have slept soundly till nearly 8. Never heard him 'traveling' around the RV. Managed to get my ankle brace on my left foot by myself. Everything was bothering me during the night. Hoping for a better day.
Just finished making out two cards for our former pastor in IN. Neighbor is taking them to the P.O. for me today. He's been in the hospital for a number of weeks -mostly in ICU. While in there his father passed away. He's going home from rehab tomorrow. We've all remained close for a lot of years. His wife is like a sister to me. We plan to 'travel' out to see them in September. He has to get well first.
I've folded up my bedding and dh once again made the bed. Only have a few spoons so will wait on the dishwashing.
Have more bruising & itching. Really need to see if I have a second ankle brace for my right foot.
With any luck, I'm not traveling any farther than the closest grocery store today.
Lucylee: With the sale of the lamps, you can apologize and say "I'm so sorry I have to charge you for these but the executor is responsible for getting value for the items that aren't taken by name beneficiaries."
Harriet: thought of you when I heard the news last night (it made all our newscasts here, both bedtime TV and morning radio.)
Dee: I slept deeply from 6 - 8 after dh left the bedroom this morning. My fitbit alarm (telling me to take ibuprofen) woke me up. Otherwise, there's no telling how long I would sleep - there is no jack-hammering today, they are tarring instead. (Windows are closed to protect from that smell.)
I'm up. Bedroom is tidy, kitchen is tidy (except for a slight mess I made while doing a project while my tea steeped.) I made two spacers out of an mega large cereal box to jam in between the fake plants in the planter. They keep blowing over. Dh suggested buying a fourth plant, but there'd still be enough space left that I think they might still blow over. Now they can't move at all, although the boxes in the planter don't look as good as I'd hoped they would. I think they need to be covered in black tape so they blend in with the black interior of the planter.
As for daily tidying. I've been getting better about doing this and it really paid off yesterday when we got back from lunch and discovered that the superintendent had been in the apartment, in our bedroom, replacing air filters in the radiators. The room was quite neat (not perfect but close) as was all the apartment except the bench by the front door because I dump things on it. Plus ds's backpack was on the floor by the door. The super ran into us in the lobby as we returned and came back up to finish the job (he could only work on 3/7 radiators since I have furniture in front of the rest and he won't move furniture, just small items like my shoe rack which is in front of the radiator in the bedroom.)
Good morning! I was awake at 3:45 this AM, hearing DH...I think he went to the store... my goodness he does not get enough sleep. Managed to go back to sleep and get a few more hours in.
I am plodding along here. Thank goodness no traveling today. I am tackling the Mt. Washmore of towels and sheets today. I've brought in 2 loads already from yesterday that need folding. Did a bunch on my desk and all dailies are done. I really did try to keep up when DKids were here but I basically had no schedule or much of a routine going. It's nice to be back to normal.
Good morning! Every weekday is a travel day for me, due to my hour long commute. I did get the Barbie parasol crochet part finished. One of my projects for this week is to finish that ensemble by: sewing snaps, stiffening parasol, and attaching parasol to skewer for handle.
Last night, Elizabeth's Own Handyman Service installed the disposal and it seems to work. The nasty gunk pulled out of the pipe had two pop tops in it, probably from DD13 as I never remove mine. New rule in my house - pop tops remain on top or no more pop! Payroll documentation task got completed. DPC made and new foster cat arranged. I did load the dishwasher in honor of washing up Wednesday, but did not turn it on. I want to be there when it runs in case there is a leak. The company that did the installation does not have any prior experience with disposals.
Congratulations to Harriet's DD! I worked in GIS/satellite imagery/etc for 11 years. It's great fun. I contributed a whopping one line of code to GDAL (Geographic Data Abstraction Library), but it did stop it from crashing with certain inputs. I'm familiar with (but NOT a power user of) ArcGIS and was considered an expert user of IDL/ENVI five years ago. Here is something fun she can try at home: Satellite ToolKit from Analytical Graphics. It propagates satellite orbits and calculates coverages for imaging. You have to pay buckets of money for the full version, but there is a 2D version for free! My STK Rocket Scientist got me my current job, even though it is entirely irrelevant to what I do. The favorite saying from big bosses on down is "It's not rocket science!", so they liked the idea of actually having one.
LOL, Elizabeth, you are a rocket scientist, huh? Love report from your disposal installation company, you are an inspiration to me to (hopefully) try more DIY.
A.m. routine done except for continuing with laundry. Harmony, you can envision us doing laundry together. Dcleaning lady stripped dd's bed and put on fresh sheets for dAunt P; then dAunt P stripped again and brought sheets down when she left, leaving me with two sets of dirty sheets for dd. DD would have been fine sleeping on Aunt P's sheets for the two additional nights she was here, but I gave her the extra set for our Queen bed, so now I need sheets to put back on my bed and her bed. May be washing them and leaving for dcleaning lady to put back on. I also didn't do any laundry while Aunt P was here, and then dd left dirty laundry when she left. Oooooooooh.
Heading out for errands, body work and then to see dmom.
