I have figured out what needs to be done today, divvied up into essential and useful:

Essentials
  • Prep room for new foster cat
  • Put lawn chair in car for concert Friday
  • Cleanup in case Sunday guest (at least clean up the mess that the handyman left)
  • Stationary to train bag so I can write xDSIL tomorrow while commuting
  • Get belt by Saturday
Useful
  • Start reservations for summer trip (hotels already done)
  • Update Quicken
  • Email catchup (way behind)
  • Church webwork

I guess she sorta has that idea, Kathryn, that we are sharing these "profits" with dbil -- but I just talked to her and told her to name her price. She said, "$45? $50?" and I said, "Just make it $40. That will be fine." I told her I hated to charge her anything, but I felt like I had to b/c I already felt bad about charging the other aunt so much (to begin with) for the first lamp she took. Of course, she ended up w/2 for that price ($25) and they are really small lamps, so I guess it's all good.

THIS is how wonderful my aunt is: I called her just now and she was getting ready to go to her granddaughter's house which is just down the road from me, right here between our house and ds's new house. She said she was going to help dcousin clean out and straighten up the baby's room and she was planning to meet me and get the lamps. So I said, "Well... we're crossing paths, b/c I was going to bring my car to let other dcousin wash it."
SHE said, "Well, I hate that I'm not going to be here but you just come on in here and make yourself at home... I've got snacks and drinks for (dgs) and toys he can play with, and you just make yourself at home..."

So. Gotta s2s and get on my way.

Harriet -- I was following the news last night. That is such a horrible, horrible tragedy for the city of Charleston. We went there years and years ago and I loved it too.

So glad Twins' dd is safely on the ground!

I'll have to continue "washing up" when I get home, so I'll be falling in line with you, Harmony!
Tomorrow is another day.

Kitchen is cleaned up with the weekly chores done too.

It is also time for me to flip the laundry.

Dfs called and we've arranged lunch a week from today. He'll come here and we'll walk to the bagel shop for lunch.

It's lunch time! Yay! I'm getting hungry.

So glad to see they arrested the suspect in the Charleston massacre. So many sickos in this world.

Dh just put another brace on my right foot. I look like a speckled something! I wish I could push into my sneakers -they would give me even more support. Dh just asked me if I was going to calling hours with him -probably not. I haven't ventured out and down the steps yet. Afraid they might be a bit much for me (going or coming) so that's probably some 'traveling' I will not do.

Dh was just in for lunch. Amazingly the RV has stayed pretty tidy. I have tried to put a few things away here 'n there as I'm 'traveling' through.

Dh had turned the heat on for me for a little while this morning -now I almost need the AC. I'll turn on the fan and hope for the best. Oh, I can also turn on the fantastic fans which draws heat out. Almost forget I have them. Not sure what we'll do for dinner. We've been living on left-overs so far but they're all but gone.

Think I'm just a bit hungry myself, Kathryn. Have managed to lose a couple more pounds this week -but I HIGHLY don't recommend this route. Travel a different plan for weight loss.

Did accomplish one thing this morning. I had bought dh 4 solar spotlights for the berm/flag while in FL. One wouldn't work. He finally opened it up to see it was missing the solar battery. I called this morning and very simply got them to send us a new one. Now why can't ALL customer service be that easy?

Traveled to an early appointment this morning. Was supposed to be home before 9:30, & had plans to dive right in & work on spiffing the house as soon as I got home. I knew I would hit some rush hour traffic on the way there, but unfortunately there was a traffic jam on my way home, too. I try to go with the flow when that happens, but I was feeling a little frazzled by the time I got home. So I've adjusted my plans, & have been giving myself a break by getting online with a mug of cocoa & relaxing a bit. I'll tackle the to do list after lunch.

I was feeling virtuous about at least starting the laundry before sitting down :-). But just now I went down to take out the towels & move the jeans to the dryer, & discovered I forgot to turn the dryer on. I was surprised to see that after over an hour, the washer was just finishing it's last spin cycle. I've noticed over the last few months that it is taking longer for a load to wash. Used to be 40 to 45 minutes max, so over 60 minutes has me concerned. Fingers crossed that it doesn't break before we finish remodeling, as we will be replacing both the washer & dryer then. I don't want to bring new machines into a work zone where they might accidentally get scratched or damaged.

I'm avoiding the news for the rest of today, maybe longer. Between the young people who died in the balcony accident & the heinous, senseless murder of all those people at church in Charleston, my heart feels so heavy with grief for the victims & all their families & friends.

Dee, I'm so glad you didn't break any bones and are on the mend. ((Gentle Hugs))

Next up: lunch, more laundry, dust, vacuum & clean the bathrooms.

Lunch over and dishes washed up. I had Ezekiel 5:9 Cinnamon Raisin bread as french toast. Note to self, next time only make one piece and add some fruit - two pieces was too much. I had defrosted 2 pieces of cooked bacon to have with it and only had one. Again, with fruit, I wouldn't have needed the bacon. So this has the potential to be a filling, reasonable sized lunch. Today, however, it wasn't!

I'm not into Sabbath time so will watch an episode of Paradise and do my stretches. Then maybe a nap. I need to get out and get some movement today because I'm out of calories for the day. Need to earn at least 200 extra so I can have dinner (walking a few miles will do it, not sure how far I'd have to bike to get there.)

You're making me feel guilty, Nancy. I could at least get my crocheting out and work on the afghan while I'm laid up. Find I'm able to walk a little easier this afternoon. Sometimes 'think' about traveling to calling hours with dh but then think about the whole scenario and think probably I don't really want to do that.

Nice sunny day -breezy, but sunny. It's starting to cloud up like possible rain.

DBailey is waiting patiently for 'Mom' to get home. I figure they'll be here about 4. She texted dh from Orbaker's on 104 (an old favorite stopping spot whenever we went that way to the Islands or to dh's Mom's). They tried to stop on the way up but it didn't open until 11. She was asking what kind of milkshake to get -"Pistachio". She already had it and said it was delicious. So I roughly tried to figure the time and thought about 4 so I'll see how close I am. At least dh will be able to move the coffee table back in place and we can move the walker. DBailey has been no trouble and spent almost the whole time on her doggie mattress.

I've got to find where I 'hid' $50 in Ones to come north. They were for church here for the building fund. The Auxiliary had been collecting ones with G-J-H on them, but dh found they had discontinued it late this winter. Our church in FL, however, is continuing to do it, so will take them back down there along with some others I have. They collect G-J-K dollars, but I'm sure they'll take any. Seems like they'd want to build the fund back up here as $200,000 was used from funds we had for the roof/sanctuary project. May see if someone else would take it on. People don't miss the ones and over time it mounts up. We never had to seek a loan for this but there's always projects to be done. Next up will be resurfacing the parking lot which is quite large.

Elizabeth - you are an inspiration! Both in DYI projects you tackle and work experience. Rocket Scientist?! Now that is way cool!

Tropical storm Bill didn't follow the path the weather people predicted which meant the brunt of the storm went east of me. I am greatly relieved that we aren't flooded here.
