First things first Friday

First things first.

Top Priorities.

Important and Urgent (Covey's quadrants)

Top Down (Jeff Campbell's cleaning book.)

All time management systems work to teach us how not just to what to do but what order in which to work.

What needs to be done first in your corner of the village?

Since I'm working on Sunday, service and sermon will be my top priority today.

Interesting night.

Went to bed by 10, stopped playing games by 10:30. Dh's alarm went off at 4:50 (as planned) but he his snooze, not dismiss. He was long gone and I was almost asleep again ten minutes later at the end of the snooze time. I turned it off (graciously resisting the urge to throw his tablet across the room) and then tried to get back to sleep. The wind shifted and the blinds were jangling so I got up and shut windows in the bedrooms and the balcony door. Then went back to bed again. Decided I needed a radio to soothe me back to sleep so turned it on. Must have drifted off some time after 5:30 and was woken at 6:40 by knocking at the door. (A neighbour heard dh up, I'm hoping because her bedroom window and the office window were open, and dropped off an invitation to an event on Sunday.)

I stayed in bed almost another hour but was playing on my tablet.

Bedroom is tidied up, dishwasher and drainer are emptied and I'm having tea and chocolate now. Dh has another call at 10 or 9. Then hopefully that's it for the day. I suspect a nap is in his future.

It is cooler today but still nice and the wind will die down around lunch so I'm hoping for a bike ride today. We also have errands to run that are technically bikeable (I did it last fall) so we may try that.

And then there's GTD - Getting Things Done - mind like a ninja! capture it all so the mind can focus!

I am spending a few minutes online and then need to get my day underway. Need to prep for dcleaning lady, s2s and get on the road to see dsis.

I had such a headache yesterday that I didn't/couldn't do anything else after getting back home from seeing dmom. Read a little while and went to bed at 8 p.m. I was up around 10 for awhile and headache was much better, then slept until 7 this morning. Hopeful that headache is gone for good, just twinges of it today. Haven't had migraines since I stopped having periods, don't know that this was a migraine but it certainly was strong and persistent.

The last two days have stopped on genealogy work in the middle of something. Just went back to yesterday and sent an email to a researcher inquiring about additional info, so at least I picked that up and finished.

I am ready to head out. I will stop at the Honda dealership service dept on the way out of town and see if they can quickly change a headlight, fog light and windshield wipers.

bw2, the "mind like a ninja" is because everything is recorded or "captured" so you don't have all the other stuff OMM, and can move in whatever direction is the highest need. Mind is calm and ready, having reviewed captured lists and needs for the day.

I'm up, albeit after 9a.m. Had a night of not very much sleep, even though I'd taken t ylenol p.m. Now I have the 'hangover' -won't try that again. Healing is taking place, thus a lot of itching/burning/discomfort in many places. Still having bruising surfacing in places that surprise me.

Amazingly I still have some of the flowers in a planter (not plantable) that our Trivia team gave me 3 weeks ago. I've taken some out as they die off. It is beginning to lose color now though.

I'm s2s, tested and weighed. Dh, bless him, made the bed yet again. I'm trying very hard to keep things tidy. Must be I make more messes than dh because it's been very easy. I got a WHOPPING 590 steps in yesterday. DD helped me get down the steps and I sat on the porch for a while. She ordered pizza and wings for dinner which we ate outside. Then she helped me down the last 2 steps from the deck to the golf cart. I rode with her to her RV to take over her bags, dog bed, dog food etc. I rode because the ruling is that no one but the permanent members, owner of a cart can drive them. Went with her so at least I was along. There's always be someone to complain if she took the cart alone you know.

It's quite cool out this morning. Just decided I need to add my sweatshirt jacket. Have the heat on low but may have to turn it up. Since I'm not moving much, my body isn't warming up much.

Off to take meds and get a bite of breakfast.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Morning y'all...

Hummm... Woke up very early to a slight headache. Took meds, texted my friend that I wouldn't be hiking this morning and went back to bed. Willis jumped up to his spot on the bed... That is his early morning habit... and quickly snuggled up to me. Always good to have a therapy dog around to help recover from a headache.

Am up, had coffee... Also good for a headache ;) and ate my breakfast. If all stays well will meet up with Jillian michaels for another 20 minute go-round.

Need to water my flowers and feed the pups. I have a luncheon to attend and then will visit Macy's and the shoe store in hopes of a good outcome.

Yesterday was 115* and broke a record. More the same today. I always wear a hat even when going from the car to a store. Is necessary for me. Hope the rest of the summer isn't like this. At least I'm not teaching anymore otherwise I would really be grumbling about having to spend my time indoors. Just heard that we may break another temp record.... Longest stretch of 110* temps for days in a row. Something like 8 days or more in a row....trust me this isn't fun.

Good morning all! Last night, I accomplished all my essential goals: prep room for new foster cat coming Saturday, put lawn chair and cokes in car for tonight's concert, clean up the kitchen (worst done, still some to go), stationary to bag, get material for belt. DD13 helped me accomplish the last. We also got a hardware store gift certificate for her dad for Father's Day. I packed some giveaway books to take to the coffeehouse near work where I took two of their giveaways. But did I remember to bring it to work? Nope.

Did not do a thing on the useful list, which means it is all pending. The most important is the reservations for the summer trip. I wrote a letter to xSIL on my train commute. However, that means I did nothing on my crochet project, which I have committed to being doll of the week starting Monday. I also have to make a fast repair to niece's stuffed cat.

Tonight, I am going to a concert at the zoo with friends. Tomorrow, I have to go sign forms with the x. Then, it is onto the cat clinic shift, where I will come home with one more cat than I left with. I am leaving after my shift (normally I go to a knit/crochet group at a coffeehouse and pick up the cats later), so I can get to a Solstice party. I have to finish my floral headband and a belt before that. SOOOO much other stuff to do, I am not going to bother listing it.
