Re: Trash Day Tuesday
Good morning nancy! It is trash day here too! I'll do that this evening; too many other things to do beforehand.
Well, my wonderful laid back week is coming to an end today. Dh and dd19 will return this afternoon. I need to get some things done around the house before they return. I also have a meeting this morning (out 11 ~1) and payroll this afternoon, so my time at home will be limited.
We had huge storms roll through last night. They woke me up; then I was kept awake by the tornado sirens going off at 1:37 a.m. A tornado was on the ground somewhere in the vicinity, but not too close by. Dd17 and I hung out in the play room (in the basement) for about 25 minutes until the worst of the storm had passed. We didn't go to the laundry room, our true tornado shelter, nor did we get the dogs out of their crates. I was taking the monitor and see route. SO. . . once again, I didn't get a full night's sleep.
So far this morning I have:
- gotten up fairly on time
- s2sed and self-care
- let dogs out and in
- updated WW tracker with snacks and jogging that happened last night
- tea
- checked email and web sites; sent one email re: Thursday dinner crew this week
I now need to get off this machine and get moving.
Next:
- QT
- unload dw and tidy kitchen
- update laundry
- make bed
Later:
- new litter for Lily (the cat)
- check on the hens
- spiff the MBR
- prep for class this afternoon
- some DPCs
- meet with the new moms group child care coordinator to go through the curriculum bins; the 3s and PreK/K classes go through a curriculum each year. I'll be out 11 ~ 1, I'm guessing.
- lunch
- start breadmaker
- create and print out attendance sheet for class
- payroll; out 2:50 - 6-ish
- come home to say hello to dh and dd19
- dinner: tuna pasta, salad, parmesan bread
Have a wonderful day, SHE friends!

Re: Trash Day Tuesday
Trying to get on with my day. Had really good news from dd in FL and posted in J&C -and then 'not so good' news just now and also posted that. Praying that all will come together today.
Clouding up again. Had severe storm around 4:30. We had a little damage but nothing to our RV -just the big flag pole on our berm That came down. Neighbor said dh had put it back up but it's laying down across the levels now. Texted dh so he can come at least get the flag off so it's not lying on the ground.
Have friend coming shortly and we're supposed to go to lunch. I may have just lost my appetite again. I do need to pick up the RV a little bit. Dh brought a bunch of stuff from our old house's attic yesterday afternoon. It's all on our deck under a tarp. Hopefully it didn't pick up moisture. There's a whole slew of Nancy Drew books -probably mostly dd's. Plan to take them to FL for her -if she wants them there. Need to get this stuff to the storage area for the summer -at least some of it. There's a huge box of Pfaltzgraff the tan set with the fleu delis pattern (SP?) Figured that was gone many, many years ago. Know I had offered to DS-A & his first wife and she didn't want it. Guess I'll ask around the family again but then I'm not sure what I'll do with it. Have to see what condition they're in first I guess. They've been stored in an unheated attic forever. I sure can't use them. Much too heavy for the RV for one thing.

Re: Trash Day Tuesday
Good morning all! My plans completely changed last night, because I delivered foster cat Briggs (he of questionable ancestry) to his new home. After that, I did manage to get the weed spray and the ATM. Before the delivery, I had managed to get a vet appointment for new foster Lily and E found the info on the zoo music on Friday. Everything else had to carryover. I did manage to get Burrito Kitty's pill down her without bloodshed.
Tonight is Girls' Night Out with DD13 and she is extremely likely to want Chinese. She is about to leave for 1.5 weeks for a cruise and certainly won't be visiting our local place. We need to discuss the remaining activities for our trip. She also wants to meet the new foster.
Stuff I can get done at lunch at payroll: file train reimbursement, look up Denver Mint (possible activity)
Things that carried over from yesterday: order glasses, reprint Stratton bio removing references to Briggs, email catchup, post latest crochet pattern in progress (if time).
New item: pack dance bag!!! (I am getting back into belly dancing, starting Wednesday)

Re: Trash Day Tuesday
We have probably the best trash day for us, Monday morning. The recycling goes very early so must be out the night before and the trash goes a little later which means I can add to it if I need. Sunday afternoons are the best day for us to find the time to get this together. I add to the recycle all week so it's usually ready to go except when DH has big stacks of cardboard, etc. like this week.
Looks like rain coming a bit later.
Changes in employees again. I'm so tired of people coming and going. No one ever really gets trained. I had to take water down as someone tried to lift cooler by its lid - again - and all spilled out. We even have it marked with magic marker: not a handle. Sheesh.
Leaving in 30 min. to take helper to his dr. apt. Trying to be helpful...not looking forward to this.
My drs. office called and had to rescheduled appointment that I've had for 6 months, she isn't going to be there that day next week...and I have to wait almost another 2 months before they had an open slot. I just think this is unacceptable. Last 2 times I tried to get in with her she was too busy and I had to go to walk-in clinic. This new insurance plan the govt put in place has messed up all the drs. around here, there is barely anyone who will see even medicare people now. Not sure how to address this... it does give me more weeks to work on my diet, but I don't like an additional wait. It's not like it's just an annual appointment, I need blood work done also. AK!

Re: Trash Day Tuesday
Good afternoon everyone! We've had a busy few days here. The week is moving quickly and it will soon be time for us to head home.
Saturday we had decided to go to the movies, but ran out of time even though we were halfway there. The theater is in a neighboring city about 30 minutes from home. So we turned around and ds rented a couple of movies and we watched them at home.
Sunday we went to church. I like their church, a UMC; the people and the services are nice. Dgd17 sings with the choir. When we got home we had a quick lunch and started out for the show again. We saw Tomorrowland. It was good and we enjoyed all it. Sunday was ds and ddil 17th wedding anniversary and they wanted to celebrate with supper at a seafood restaurant so they stayed behind and dgd17 drove dh, dgson13 and me home. The weather started turning cloudy, it had rained while we were at the show. Actually, we had about 1/2 hour of movie left when the fire alarms sounded and everyone in all 14 theaters had to go outside. They said it must have been a power surge from lightning nearby and after the all clear they finished showing the rest of the movie. Dgd stopped at a Subway near their house and dh bought subs for all of us for our supper - took them home to eat. Just as we left there the storm started. Weather channel issued a tornado warning, so we gathered flashlights, etc. and called ds/ddil. They were just finished eating and on their way home; they saw the funnel cloud, but I don't think it ever touched down. Anyway the lightning and thunder were bad; had to give their ddog, Oscar, some meds. The neighborhood lost power for almost an hour.
We spent most of the day and all evening Monday scanning into computer lots of old pictures we brought with us of my and dh's dfamilies. Dh's dniece had done a family tree timeline with many ancestors as far back as she could and I had some papers written out by my dmom with her side of the family. We got all than entered into ancestry dot com. Now ds has to follow all the leafs that popped up. So far the furthest date back is the late 1700s. It is all very exciting to see names and dates and try to imagine how life was at those times for family.
Today, I slept in till 9 am, everyone else was already up. After a quick breakfast ds, ddil, her dmom, dgs13 and I all went for a walk out on Government Island. A walk across the bridge to the island and following the path all around and back to the parking lot is two miles. It is a nice path, all woods, but somewhat hilly so lots of up and down, a really good workout! There is a quarry there where stone was taken for the Capitol building and the White House in D.C.
Right now, ds is back communing our ancestors again....
Apparently it is trash day here also....I heard someone ask ds if he got the trash out in time this am.
I have read both Dees posts in J&C...(((hugs))).
I will have to look up a Seresto collar to see what it is.

Re: Trash Day Tuesday
I plunged into the editing job for MF this morning and am just surfacing now but first (major) edits for two articles are now done.
Tomorrow I have a business meeting at 1:30 and then my senior friend will come here and on to a strawberry social and dinner. So I need to get this place all cleaned up and show ready.
Dinner for tonight is planned now and my food diary filled in for the day. I don't think my body is handling the higher protein to carb ratio. I feel quite ill. I'm not doing anything drastic, just switching 5% of the carbs to the protein category. Makes me think something else should be wrong (especially since my carbs have actually been high so far today since I tend to front-load my days with carbs from my shredded wheat, milk and berries.)
On the other hand, despite over 1600 calories yesterday (and many days over the past week), my weight was down a bit this morning. Just half a pound but it was a surprise drop. There was no shortage of water yesterday, or the day before so I'd be surprised if it was just water weight.
