Re: WEDNESDAY 'WANNAS'
Hello to everyone!
I walked 1 mile outdoors just now -- It's "only" 86 degrees at the moment, but weather app says it "feels like" temp of 91, with 61% humidity -- so I am feeling accomplished enough with my one mile. Next week we will be spending 3 days in a hot baseball stadium (night games, but still...) so I am just trying to establish habits and accustom myself to the heat a little bit this week.
I am not going to the funeral visitation for the distant cousin (16 year old girl) I've never met. I haven't seen her mother or grandmother in years, I'd say, or really, anyone else in her family. I feel like it will be a very over-crowded service, and I certainly don't feel my attendance will be missed. But I do hurt for the family... just so sad. I think my first cousins and aunt will be going, but they are much closer to this branch of the family than I am. I think my grandfather and the girl's great-grandmother were first cousins. I've taught the girl's first cousins, and my first cousin is very close friends with her aunt, but their children are about the same age so they've spent the last 18-20 years following along in the same school events.
I know... I'm just rambling around here...
I sound just like my mother!!!
Oh, and speaking of the heat... we are under a heat advisory here, and dh is on his way to play golf. Not really his brightest moment, wouldn't you say? * sheesh * It was NOT his idea, but he said he is younger than any of the others in his foursome by at least 5 years, so if they can take it, he thinks he can take it.
I am * shaking my head * and praying he doesn't have a heat stroke.
My PODA includes my hopes to
* wash hair, in prep of visiting my colorist
tomorrow or the next day
* go to Wmart, search for blue jean shorts & bathing suit/shorts & t-shirt-type shirts that will be comfortable for next week
* vacuum
* finish laundry
And now I have lost my internet connection for the second time this morning... grrrr...

Re: WEDNESDAY 'WANNAS'
Pass the BGS, please. I've gone on a genealogy bender and can't extricate myself. Of course, it's lovely that I have the time to do it this week.
Gotta get out of pajamas and go to the grocery so we don't starve. A couple of other errands, also.

Re: WEDNESDAY 'WANNAS'
Don't have a lot accomplished today yet. Just not feeling much energy. I did get the desk cleared and a couple problems handled---then I went over some engineering with DH over the phone (I didn't understand any of it). I took the papers up to him and drove him to other place to get his truck. Got a couple groceries on the way home because tomorrow is DH's birthday. We no longer exchange gifts unless there is something specific either of us needs, but last year he complained that I didn't make him a cake! So I baked him an angel food cake and got some strawberries. He'll like that.
Guess that's all my exciting news for today!

Re: WEDNESDAY 'WANNAS'
Y'all know something? When people on tv burn love letters and stuff, they make it look a lot easier than it really is.
I just cleared out ALL the melodramatic high school era Rod McKeun-inspired poetry. I just decided it would just be too embarrassing for ds to ever read any of that, whether it was inspired by his daddy or not!
I went outside on the driveway and I was going to burn it all. Well. That didn't work AT ALL. My match would go out before I could get a single sheet started.
So, I came back in, tore sheets of paper into thirds/fourths, and soaked it all in a pan of water and clorox. (Remember, I don't have a shredder.
) It filled up a gallon ziplock bag, but I then took it OUT of the bag, b/c I didn't want the water to pool up in that,
and now it is all in the trash compactor, and it is kinda a heavy mess, which dh might complain about on trash day... but so be it. If anyone were ever interested in my life enough to try to reconstruct these writings, well, more power to them.
I have also s2s, but no make-up, so now that THAT chore is done, I'm going to finish getting ready to go to Wmart.

Re: WEDNESDAY 'WANNAS'
Hello dear ladies
HOT here!
Got the dishes done and kitchen straightened.
My upper part of body is bothering me. Am blaming the constant coughing I did for several weeks. Think I pulled something. DH marked down a date two weeks from now and if I'm not better, off to the doc I go.
Resting and then off to work.
Great day to all!

Re: WEDNESDAY 'WANNAS'
I need some accountability. My energy is sagging, but my desire to get things done is firmly in place.
I have 45 minutes before leaving to take LO to karate lessons. During that time I will -
** empty Dishwasher
** LOL into dryer
** LOL started in washer
** LOL hung up/put away
** Vacuum pool
** backwash, rinse & add DE to pool filter

Wmart...
I'm fairly pleased with the two t-shirts I got for $5.97 each. I wanted cheap, lightweight tops that it wouldn't matter if I sweated profusely in for next week's trip.
Not sure I did well in the swimwear dept. I got a pair of swim shorts for $7... but they are not lined or anything, so I added a pair of bikini bottoms for around $10. The tops were just not appealing at all, so I added a Danskin sports bra and a Danskin active-wear top. I've probably just totally thrown away about $40 b/c I don't know if I'll ever wear any of this at all. But at any rate, if the opportunity arises to go to the pool with dgs, I have quick-dry clothing for it now. But no good cover-up, and these swim shorts are waaay too short to wear anywhere except poolside, so I don't know. This was probably a dumb move.
Not pleased w/all the cellulite and fat in the dressing room. Not At All.
Now my energy is sagging too, and I don't even care about the vacuuming and laundry.

Re: WEDNESDAY 'WANNAS'
Back from errand run - went to bank, picked up chair that was fixed (and spent some time browsing at the antiquey type place. Then to grocery and gassed up the car, emptying trash out while the gas ran. I'm taking a break right now. Storms blew in while I was out - at Publix they were taking your groceries out and letting you pull up to the front door to load up.
After my little break....
-put away groceries
-fold lol and put away
-start a load of delicates to hang up later
-empty dishwasher
-take out the trash
Lucylee, IKWYM about energy sagging after one has been out...

Another round of weeding and gardening with toddlerN done. Thinking it may be a great time to reseed that area.
H is on his way he offered to grill for dinner.
