Harmony...I get those same kind of "headaches" too. Yup, they feel weird, all of the symptoms and none of the pain.

Kathryn ... So glad to hear about your feet

Harriet.... I react much like your daughter does to those kind of bites...Something was posted on my fb page about using an over the counter skin softener that works to repel those pesky critters. I know it from W-mart because is their brand Equate. The person who posted it said the skin softener was made with peppermint and aloe, neither of which mosquitos like. As a test her son used it on his skin and she used nothing. Thy went outside and the mosquitos hoovered over her son, but never bit him. She, on the other hand received several bites before she headed into her house.

I'll look for it and let you know because when I go home I really get attacked when I go out. I want to have some on hand for that. People swear by daily eating garlic, vitamin B1 and/or drinking a tablespoon or so of Apple cider vinegar in a glass of water. Between my dry skin and bug bite I live on benedryl during the summer.

I'm getting ready to drop down the rabbit hole ...everything in my house is in order. That's because I wanted to work on my family stuff. Dinner is ready, just need to heat it up.... so its Hi Ho, Hi Ho, its down the hole I go.

Hi Everyone! I'm finally getting back to my normal routine. A.M. chores are done, I've just finished lunch. Dh and I are back here in the family room; he is on the treadmill walking and I have my laptop set up on my work table. I need to record my b'fast and lunch meals in mfp for today.

Helia, the 30-day declutter challenge link given by Elizabeth is on Thursday's thread, first page. I have printed two copies, one to check off and another for a master copy to print from again. Some look easy enough to do in 15 minutes and others I know will take longer. I'm looking forward to working with everyone on this.

Harmony, I hope you continue to feel better.
Nancy, I'm glad you've had no other adverse reactions to your fall other than bruising, which I guess would almost be expected.
Harriet, so glad your efforts at peacemaking seem to be working. Don't know how anyone could ever remain angry with you though! ♥

I agree with Lady Mand Harmony about getting interrupted while doing paperwork. Once I get to concentrating it's hard to switch my mind to another line on thoughts then back again.

RRose, during the time we were in VA with ds-T, he entered all the information I had about our ancestors. I was so fascinated by the new bits of data and names appearing on both my dh and my side of our family. It has made all those people become more real to me! We found the cemetery and location of several people and was especially pleased to find where my dfather's dmother was buried. The furthest back ds has found was a birth in the 1790s. I know we could get a lot more information, but it is overseas and at this time he has no access to those records. ($$$ for the website).

Next up is to finish getting my July calendar set up.

In the car now.

Had a short walk around, light lunch, met up with dd, got on the next train to the car after a short wait and had an uneventful ride, dh even napped a bit.

Now we are in the car and on the highway towards home. Several stops - first for groceries, then for fish and chips and eating in the car (unless the weather is dramatically different 120 miles from here!) and then at the village for the Canada Day party although, if the weather is the same there as here, it will be put off until tomorrow night.

It is rainy and still 63 outside. The weather was supposed to be 75 and sunny so I didn't have a proper jacket but thankfully we each keep a jacket in the car in case we go out and the weather turns on us while we are out.

Probably I just need suggestions on how to Keep My Mouth Shut... But I don't want ds/ddil to wait TOO long... AND, don't want them to rush... So hard to know what's right.

Hey -- if y'all are watching the Braves game, I'm the one who already has cherry milkshake dribbles on my white shirt, before the first pitch even. Sigh.

Took LO to the kids summer program at the local library. I know it was designed for children but it was a fun program today that kept even the adults interest and on the edge of our seats. Today's program was a ventriloquist that also did some magic tricks. During one segment LO was selected to be the ventriloquist "dummy". They put a costume on LO and each time the ventriloquist rested his hand on LO shoulder he was to open his mouth. When the ventriloquist removed his hand LO closed his mouth. Then the ventriloquist went through a monologue that was hilarious while LO was mouthing the words.

When we arrived home from the library I loaded the crockpot with Chicken. I was late getting it into the crockpot but it ended up working out perfectly.

DDIL brought DGS8 and DGD4 to visit us for a couple hours. Those 2 Grandkids have SEVEN Grand & Great Grandparents within 20 miles of us so a one day trip here means they are spread thin. DGS8 & DGD4 were exhausted by the time they headed home.

I keep reminding DS/DDIL they will get through these few months. Just hang on and make sure their marriage remains intact!! They have so much going on that it boggles my mind. DSon has a new job that is extremely demanding. Until the family gets moved, DSon travels 5 days a week and is home for 2 days. Remember the Texas flooding being in the news? Two of their rentals that flooded are almost finished being renovated. DDIL found contractors to do the repairs and has stayed up with each stage of repairs to the rentals....which are located 100+ miles away from them. DDIL staged & listed their home for sale herself. She priced it for 1/3 more than they paid 3 years ago..... AND she has a buyer/contract. They will close on the home they are selling the first part of August..... Two days before they close the movers show up to pack them up to move their belongings to a different state. Everything will go into storage while they are living in corporate housing for a couple of months while they wait for their new home to be finished. They are building a custom home which means working with that contractor with the cazillion details of selections of doors, floor, etc. DDIL is researching/interviewing/searching for the right school for DGS8 & DGD4 (starts 1st of August) but they aren't officially residence yet so they don't know which/if they can get accepted into the school/s. Some schools are on a year round schedule but some of private schools have typical summer break. Between now & the first of August they also have 2 vacations that were planned months ago & already paid. If they had known they were going to be moving, they wouldn't have planned vacations in the middle of it! They will spend one week on the east coast and another week on the west coast. DDIL had surgery last week so she is still in recovery mode. There is more happening but it seems to reach a point of so busy that it just blurs into MAXIMUM BUSY.

Invitation arrived today to : (script lettering) "An Olde Fashioned Ladies Tea" , 11 to 3 p.m. on a Saturday, so that takes up the day. Sigh. This seems to have gone to all the women of our church and is being hosted by one lady, with the location given as "______'s Garden". (I've never been to her home but others in the church have.) Not sure if this means to dress in a different way. One arrived for dd, too. RSVP. It says please bring an Olde Fashioned Finger Food to share.
Ya'll know I am not much for trying to outdo others at a pot-luck. Certainly not much for trying to outdo for this sort of thing. I don't want to take sweets 'cause many of us shouldn't have them - not healthy. It will be hot summertime, as well. Dd instantly said she didn't want to go to this (age appropriate). IF, IF, IF it were something I were going to try, what would ya'll take?

LOL -- to be honest, the main reason I haven't joined our local library organization since I retired is bc they put on a similar event every year and I know I would NOT be into that sort of thing.
If I absolutely HAD TO go and take food, I'd try to make my grandmother's tea cakes. But that's a dessert, so I'm not helping much.
