If we are getting guests, dh wanted food to put out so I made up rice krispy squares and I'll put out some crackers and cheese as well, along with store bought lemonade.

The apartment is tidy except for the stash and dash I'm about to do when I close my desk lid after making this post.

It is windy and cold outside so I've cleared furniture away from all the windows so people can watch from there. Since three of those windows are in bedrooms, the bedrooms are tidy now.

I'm still up working. Poor DH was working in a very very hot space and he and helper started at 6:00 this morning (helper offered to start at 5:00 but DH said no 6:00 was early enough). They are working up in an attic space, the whole space under the roof in a long strip mall, very hot! I talked with him about 11:00 and he sounded very quiet and said he was really tired. He came home at 3:00 and went straight to bed. But he got up after a few hours and ate, then went out for his truck and tools and back to job to do a few last minute things before inspector gets there tomorrow.

We worked on a statement together after he got home... I'd started it but needed some information...and after another couple hours that is complete. It seems like we just never ever get caught up with everything.

There is still much needing done around here, kitchen is piled up with clean dishes, etc. but I need to stop.

Elizabeth, I'm very happy someone returned your wallet. You were very lucky with that. Nice to give her the gift card.

And there's Lucylee sitting with a herd of cows...

Thanks for the wedding ann. wishes from you all I had a good day today.
I cooked frozen lagasagna from the store in the crock pot on the deck today with 1/4 c. Water on the bottom of it first. I have not done that before.

Cooling trend for us next week yea! Looking forward to that.

Made the trip to pick up dd and then she wanted to stop by a regular grocery so we got that done. Back home she biked and then hula-hooped outside with the hens while they hunted bugs. She herded them back up on the bike and they were quite disgusted with her new method.

While she did that I cleaned a lawn chair.

Cardfile success -
HRH spent time with a buddy today doing some programming. Before he got there, he had called me from near this friend's house saying, "I don't suppose you have L's phone number, do you?" :| Hruumph. Me not have an obscure phone number of a friend of HRH's I myself haven't needed to contact in years? Ha! Went right to their family 3 x 5 card in my address cardfile box and recited not only the phone number but the address to be sure he knocked at the right house and the wife's name to be sure he could feel confident talking to her, too. I told dd to let this be a lesson! Gotta love those 3 x 5s!

Additional laundry load done to whittle down Mt. Washmore, which was sneaking up on me.

Phone calls to let family know dcousin's dh is in the hospital.

Had four people come. Our immediate neighbours and a new couple in the other half of the building. That means 1/3 of the apartments without a view of the fireworks came - pretty good turnout.

Everything is tidied up except coats (no-one came with coats and I had my winter one on with a bandana over my ears.)

Busy day tomorrow.

Have to leave here by 9:45 to drop off the car and then work my way down the road to my mammogram. Then work my way back to the dealership. I think it is a 2 mile walk, but will check for buses since that's a bit far for me to walk.

Edited to add: It is now 11:30 and we'll head to bed. While writing this, two more neighbours, new to us, dropped by. He's Irish so we had a great gab.
