I figure if 140 is good enough for me, who is 3+" shorter than you, then 142 will make you quite skinny.

And I learned that 132 with muscles is a lot skinnier than 132 with flab (and a full size smaller for clothes.)

At some point BMI doesn't work for you because of your muscle mass. I'm flabby enough that it is good enough for me to mark when I cease to be obese and when I cease to be overweight, but I don't think I'd use it to set my goal weight. I'd rather let nature help me figure out my personal goal weight, rather than read it from a table which is based on questionable assumptions.

Wishing I could join in w discussion but I'm on the iPad w/o a real keyboard.

I put my Fitbit through the washer and dryer this morning, I'm hoping to "reboot" it tomorrow when we are settled in at the beach. It lights up but is stuck on 4 steps.

Day 3 of recording what I am eating at MFP.

I weighed 125 when we got married; I'm about 5 feet 5 inches. I just dropped back below 180, at least for last two mornings. I won't have a scale at the beach.

What a time to lose your fitbit, Twins! Fingers crossed.

Amazon can deliver to your hotel if it doesn't work! I am so fully addicted to this device, I can't imagine being without mine for even a few hours. It is on me 24/7 except for recharging every week or so and then I do that while doing my physio exercises or reading so I'm not losing any credit for moving.

I weigh more than everyone here and probably always will. However I did drop out of the obese range! I am about 5'7" tall and probably considered large frame. The last time I lost weight and weighed less than 160lbs, my doctor gave me "THE LOOK" and told me to not lose anymore. My DMom is about my height/frame built and weighs mid 170's. Doctors are happy with her weight. I'm using our family doctor recommendation as my goal weight (160 lbs).

NSV (Non Scale Victory) = LO recently ran up and gave me a bear hug. His head is about even with my shoulders so his arms wrap around my waist. He stopped hugging me and backed away with a shocked look on his face. Then he hugged me again and exclaimed "You have lost weight. You are skinny now!". I laughed and thanked him Then I told him that I really haven't lost that much weight. He then said "Really! Look how skinny you are now!" Then wrapped his arms around my waist again.

Ate a 1000 extra calories yesterday. Am up 2 lbs today. Obviously not possible since I only ate 1000 extra calories, not 7000 so am assuming food chemistry is playing a role and it will drop quickly. It was a good test-run for the holiday, though. I'm going to have to be very, very, careful what I eat while away, even if I am at my September goal weight before I leave. Oh, and now we are 3 weeks away from leaving and I'm 5 pounds away from my goal weight so may not make it after all.

I took over 11,500 steps yesterday. Since Sundays are usually low count days, I was on the treadmill for 40 minutes before my shower and then we walked from the church to the general store for the mail and then meandered a bit through the village on our way back to the car. Those two actions added at least 7K steps to my day.

BUT because my step count was so high, I was more careless with my eating at dinner. I had updated MFP at lunch but that didn't take into account the calories from the activity. So I over-estimated what I could eat at dinner and under-guessed the calorie count for my food. Plus, when I got home, I ate some rice krispy squares while putting away the leftovers. All that added up to way too many calories, with me having no idea how many I was over until I sat down after it was all over and entered things.

I don't have a data plan for my tablet but even so, my tablet is relatively unstable and runs even more poorly when I have the MFP app installed, so, when away from home, I update using the tablet's browser version which is also very slow, connected to public wifi (also slow.)

When I'm traveling I'll need to come up with a better way of keeping things up to date.

The final issue is that yesterday was a 'no count' day. I count everything (so I can learn from my experience) but I also allow myself to make the choices I want, rather than being constricted by the eating plan. Since it is so easy for things to get out of control while traveling and eating out 3 meals a day, rather than 2, I may have to not have 'no count' days. I'll have days that are over my allotment (as I do now, I'm commonly 100 - 300 calories over) but that's not quite the same as deliberately giving myself permission to make poor choices. Maybe I'll be able to find a way to limit those days to only twice on the holiday, in order to keep things more under control.

Weighing food will also be important, although looking at my dinner last night, I knew that either of my entrees (dh and I each split our entree in half so we could try both meals that appealed to us) was a full dinner. So there was too much food served to me in the first place and then I made the mistake of eating it all. At some chain restaurants, we are aware of serving sizes and routinely order one meal between us. But this was an independent restaurant and I wasn't expecting so much food. On the plus side, I think my expectation of what makes a full meal is getting smaller too. At Swiss Chalet, I often don't finish my half of the dinner we've ordered.

Just finished up MFP for yesterday.

I need to take more control of my food choices here. Went along w bagel and peach for lunch, then was ravenous for a heavy snack and a late pizza dinner.

Dfriend who is with us brought a lot of food so dh and I haven't made a trip to the grocery.

I am hoping for a walk on the beach or treadmill later.

Thanks for the input Kathryn and others. Yeah, I'm not going to aim lower than my current goal weight. If I manage to make that, I'll be ecstatic.

You look just right in the photos I've seen of you, LadyM! I love the NSV evidence! :)

A walk on the beach sounds lovely, Twins.

WTG, nancy with the exercise bike and walking!

I ate quite poorly over the weekend. I think I only have 9 (out of 49) of my weekly points left. I ate those extra 40 points mainly Saturday, small group, and last night, snacking while watching a TV show (on laptop) in the evening. But I do have 8 exercise points as well. Still, that's less than I should have as the beginning of day 4. I will try very hard to stay within points each day this week, and I'll try to exercise more than 3x, which was my total from last week.

I'm just back from a jog. It was OK, not the best, pretty average for my new norm. I don't think my body likes going first thing in the morning, but it is nice to have that done for the day. I went 2.3 miles, 30 minutes.
