Sent the link about notebooks on to my family.

Dstepson is a pretty smart cookie. He has figured out a way to get me to listen to him and stay at home. He made me responsible for taking care of dstepdil's little house-dog's potty times and socialization while they are gone. Aha. That stopped me. Hayley the yorkie-poo needs someone to take her out for potty and give her some reassurance while the rest of her household is away, and I suppose I am Grandma for her, too.

Oh, lucylee. He enjoyed drinking. Sigh. Maybe there should be a wait time for permission to file obituary copy. The newspapers could say, "Thank you for your submission, and there will now be a 24-hour waiting period for you to think about what you have just asked us to put into print for posterity." Unfortunately, that would delay a lot of funerals, so not a perfect idea.

Looking in from the beach, I bailed out on sitting out at the pool - headache and it's quite hot - so I made a quick grocery trip to get some of my familiar foods and I've read some.

Helia, I posted a link to the info about dd's trip in members only. The male professor of the two leaders is in art history, married to the other leader (dd's advisor) who is in religious studies/archaeology.

Yep, that's really what it said, Harmony! I was just glad to see he was a fan of that Other school in our state, you know. That wasn't ALL it said, of course, Those were just the two main interests that jumped out at me. The rest of it was pretty normal.

* And I realize this does nothing to make our region of the country look any better, in light of recent publicity we've been getting. Actually, I am very proud to be from the South, but I realize there ARE those people who do reinforce that stereotype a lot of people have of us. I promise, we are NOT all backwards hillbillies, and even those of us who see the much-maligned flag as a symbol of heritage, not hate, can at the same time be well-educated, perfectly normal people.

Y'all, it is HOT. Boy. All we did was unload the truck, just a normal pickup truck load (and we had loaded all the stuff on it Saturday) -- lots of wood and debris from doghouse that had been deteriorating for years, small pieces of laminate flooring, and the bumper pool table. I don't think dh and I could have gotten it up and over the railing at the dumpster if the lady next to us hadn't helped... and then we came home, carried a wooden pallet to the barn, carried a few items (including his bicycle) to ds's house, washed out the bed of the truck... and we are worn out. I have drunk 2 large bottles of Gatorade but they were not much help.
I do feel slightly better after s2s, but still EXHAUSTED -- and --
Still have to go to Wmart and then dgs is spending the night (b/c ddil has doctor's appt tomorrow morning.)

DH is kinda aggravated at contractor friend, who he expected to be here tomorrow, but now knows will not be. OTOH, he's kinda glad b/c we still have to move the "keep" items out of the garage and sweep/wash the floor in there... and it is just too hot.

Since Lucylee is trying to make us believe she isn't hillbilly, I thought I'd point out that the juxtaposition of "off to the dump" next to "God-fearin' Southern upbringing" caused me to LOL this morning!

I was going to tease you about it then, but passed. Sorry, I couldn't resist temptation twice!

I did have that nap and then we ate dinner out on the balcony. It is hot but pleasant. At 7 was walking club so now I need to clean up the kitchen. Shouldn't take long.

After that, I might get to some of the other Monday chores, like dusting and a bit of zone work. Tackled 1/4 junk drawers although it was mainly tidying. Junk drawers were all dealt with pretty severely before the move but I'll see if I can find 4 items to dispose of.

Tip: I read somewhere that you need a designated UFO (unidentified found object) place in your home. Then when you are vacuuming and discover something that obviously wasn't tracked in so probably came off something but you have no idea what, it goes in that spot. And when you discover your blender is tippy because one of four feet is now missing, you know where to go look for the foot!

The first junk drawer I tackled is now that spot in our apartment. So there is a rather large (1" diameter) steel & rubber furniture foot in it. After a year, you'd think we'd have found the item missing its foot!

ROFLOL!!! Kathryn -- you should have seen us! Our 1988 GMC truck needs a paint job desperately, the headliner is sagging, the rear view mirror is lying in the seat, and the AC DOESN'T WORK. Yes... we're a sight when we're "off to the dump."

And my son plays the banjo.

I give up. I am a hillbilly.
(But I am an educated hillbilly, reasonably intelligent, and I have never shot a gun in my life.)

Hi everyone. I've had a slow day today, not much ambition. I know it's a carry-over from the weekend. Saturday I awoke with tummy troubles and Sunday just felt like I had a cold or something. Must have been a 24-hour thing!

Kathryn, thank you for the notebook link. I have a couple of notebooks and binders that I keep notes of all kinds in such as www links, questions I want to ask a family member (write it down so I don't forget it), a recipe, Bible study notes....and on and on. This is a good way to organize notes till they can be crossed off or moved to a permanent spot.

I got a fb post from ddil#2-Y this afternoon asking if I had any chicken with a label of Barber Foods. There has been a recall of some 2 million lbs. Info link is in recalls thread.

Don't remember if I said before, but wanted to tell you Harriet, I was sorry to read of dstdil's dfather passing. Will little miss Hayley be staying at your house, or will you have to make trips to her house to see her? Yes, our dsons usually get their own way with us, too.

Twins, I hope you feel better and can enjoy your vacation.

I heard over the weekend from ds#3-T that dgd17-H was accepted in East TN U and they went down on Saturday for orientation and registration. She will be about 6 hours from home. Ddil's two dsisters and their families live there in Johnson City. So she will have family close by. Also her dbf-A wil be only 2 hours away at VA Tech.

I didn't get much done over the last few days except the basics. Now starting tomorrow I want to get caught up again.
