RR: I am proud of myself. Had a hard time getting dressed just now because so many things look too baggy on me and I want to look nice for tonight. Have pinned the waistband on my favourite skirt to take off 3". Hopefully the pin will hold and it won't fall off.
The top I have on still looks ok but I had to try on 4 before I found one that looked good. The pile of clothes being donated keeps growing and growing as September continues. All the 1X items are too large (mainly my coats and a few tops) and my XLs are almost all too big now. There are only a few items I'll really miss of this (since seeing myself in them didn't make me feel good.) The main exception is this skirt.
I'm grateful I could afford to buy so many XL and 1X items and happy to donate them on for someone else who is struggling like I was.

Re: Health and Fitness, September, 2015
I've been avoiding this thread until we got back from this weekend wedding trip.
I.have.to.do.this. My tummy is round - in a baby it's cute, in an almost 60 y/o woman it's gross. My back and hips were killing me with the walking we did on Sunday. I have almost constant heartburn which I believe is weight related, i.e. my weight is putting pressure on my esophagus. Just took one of my mother's lansoprazole caps until I can get the OTC version.
For today I need to get in 10K steps and eat well. I have chicken in the freezer I'll take out for a healthy dinner.
I need to get through RH next Monday. I'll be on my feet a lot getting ready and I need to just eat healthy.
Dh's cousin's bride is an inspiration - she founded and runs a weight loss health center and writes and speaks on a behavior integrative approach to weight loss. If I could have brought her home with me in my purse I would have in a heartbeat. She also gave dh some info on his gastric bypass surgery - that he didn't fail, the surgery failed him and she quoted stats on how many folks regain weight and then some. (And Dee, if you look in, the addictive behaviors that may follow the surgery.)
I don't have a plan at this point, but something's gotta give.

I ran this morning.
RR, your workouts sound really fun. Wish I had time to do something like that.

I crossed over into the obese catagory this past yr. So
the goal for now is to get back on track with a more healthy lifestyle and stay under that danger zone.

Kathryn, a lady at our study today was asked by another: "Who was it who moved out of your slacks, Shirley?"
(Many chuckles with that one.) Shirley has been able to lose weight and has not yet been able to get new clothing. She doesn't care - says she will get around to it, and happily looked 'round behind her and tugged at the loose fabric to show it off.
Twins' Mom, we also discussed sleeplessness as a result of acid reflux. Several said that if they could just remember to have a good supper adn then avoid food/drink for 3 hours before bed they would be so much better off. All were agreeing that it's usually not hunger, it's absentmindedness, or going along with others' ideas rather than guarding their own needs. I know that has been my trouble before for sure. I'm better now, but not always ideal.
The several hours a day of hard moving work recently has been my exercise. I have usually had two or three times a day of having my legs so tired they ache. This is not the best exdecise, but it's active and steady.

We always try to eat dinner early... Like between 4-4:30 because of Sweetie's acid reflex issues.
Twins... You spend so much of your time helping others, no wonder it's difficult for you to get and stay focused on your WW plan. Does this sound familiar
I had to make myself my priority when I started this journey and I've always believed it's not what I'be been eating but rather what's been eating me in my life. I have learned not to feel guilty with the foods I don't allow in the house.
I've said this before and am not embarrassed to say it again... I am addicted to sugar period.
My friend who lost 110 lbs has stalled with her weight loss and I am convinced it is because of the high cards she is eating on certain days. Also the skim milk she drinks has 18 grams of sugar and the Greek yogurt has as many sugar grams as a Twinkie.
I told her we need to keep a daily journal so we can compare and chart our progress. I am giving her my Jorge cruise's The 100 that calculates ones daily sugar grams.
Just this morning on Good Morning America there was a nutritionist who said a person should only allow 25 sugar grams a day. The interesting part of her conversation was that is exact what Jorge cruise preaches. I know it works for me when nothing else did.

Re: Health and Fitness, September, 2015
Hmmm..... I just went to a bossy BMI site called something like the smart bmi calculator. It told me that I'm in the ideal range and should not think about losing more weight since it would add no benefit to my health. The nutritional advice was good, however:
"Never diet again. Eat a variety of foods that you like, optimally including five servings of fruit and vegetables a day. Avoid eating too sweet, too fat and too much." That is pretty much what I try to do. The physical activity suggestion was funny though:
"Do physical exercise at least for half an hour daily at moderate intensity. Walking or cycling may be better for your joints than jogging." I spend at least six hours walking on payroll days, and my knees have always felt better when I have been running regularly. Guess it depends on what you are used to doing.
RamblinRose, I meant to ask if you have reached your goal of being able to open pickle jars? I just got some Swedish exercise balls which are egg-shaped. They are supposed to help you increase hand and forearm strength. I'll let you know if they help me to unscrrew the nozzle from the hose at work.
