I wish I had the power of healing! Oh how I wish I could have my mother back to good health, physically AND mentally.

PLEASE read my post in J&C for last night's episode.
The good news is, this morning nurse reports no more episodes, and that dmom is speaking sensibly and walking well to rr (with walker.)
But last night was pretty terrible.
Tomorrow is another day.

Good morning! I need to activate my powers of decluttering the sewing room (perhaps with a bulldozer?) and cleaning the rest of the house. Also, I need to organize my week (it's Wednesday already?) and put together my September vacation. Last night was Girls' Night, but DD14 wanted to stay in and play her Pokemon video game. She is not much of a video gamer, so this is ok. While she did that, I did some DayRunner update tasks. I am ALMOST done with that tedious chore.

After she left, I decided to do the minimum needed to get me out the door today and go to bed early. I am so tired. Didn't work as well as it should because I am plagued with nightmares since the city council decided to allow chickens in my home city. Either there is a chicken blocking the entrance to my house or I have killed one in self defense and no one believes me, because everyone knows they are so "sweet". And always, always, the feel of blood running down my leg (actually a memory rather than a dream). Didn't help that R had two of her chickens out during the party on Saturday. Her daughter removed them shortly after I got there. I doubt it was because of me. They were removed during the maypole, where I was afraid someone (not me - I wouldn't go near them) would step on them. Doesn't matter why, I was grateful.

I'm off to read lucylee's J&C posting. Her request came through between my starting typing and previewing the post.

Twins - Awesome theme for today. You rocked it!

Okay. This is crazy. I have been learning to sleep more. This morning I woke up almost 2 hours later than I intended. I have to find a middle ground. Not too much....not too little....but just right for my body. I operated without coffee the first 2 hours this morning because there was no time to make it. I had to hit the floor running to get must-do's done.

When I picked LO up from school yesterday he told me that tomorrow he had to wear the clothes he wore to the dance. I was confused and asked why. He said it was secret but it was about Mother's Day and his teacher told them to dress up. LO teacher is a amateur photographer so I am assuming she is taking pictures of the children for a Mother's day gift. So getting LO dressed this morning took longer than normal .....on the day that I was already running late. But we made it with no drama.

I wonder how LO will handle Mothers Day this year with both DD and myself in the home? He knows I support and encourage his relationship with DD. I just want LO to feel love from all directions.

Construction continues on our driveway and walkway project. We have to park our vehicles about 1/2 block away. We have dump truck and backhoe working in our front yard so walking through the construction area is a challenge. Each time we walk out the door i remind the little ones that construction fellas are not watching for little kids so to stay far away from them.
Stay curious. Challenge assumptions. Success loves persistence.

After my catchy opening this morning, I went back to bed! I slept over at the F amily P romise shelter for homeless families last night as one of the "hosts." Very uncomfortable cot with sleeping bag, then I was up at 5:45. The bus with the families left at 6:30, I finished coffee and then came on home.

Since getting back up, I've scheduled doggie boarding for Chief during our vacation at the end of the month, talked (or listened, mostly) to dfriend and set up lunch with her on Friday, and rescheduled appt for funeral home to discuss prepayment for dmom.

I didn't get dog out to walk yet - started to earlier and he wanted to play instead, so I got in bed for my nap. (C

I have a list of errands for today and I have a pedicure appt at 3 p.m., so I need to get moving. I could use some of the force today...

Twins: you've already been a force for good in the world today. Good luck with the other things you have to do.

I've finished Invoicing, Payroll and C$ bank account payments and Reconciling the C$ bank account.

My chest has just tightened up for the dust is getting to me. It isn't visible in the air but is on the floors in the hall and the bathrooms are a mess. Not my problem, they send someone to clean (actually they clean a bit after themselves, the electrician comes, then they come back to do something (probably put the outside casing on) and then the building's cleaner comes and cleans quite well. Except the dust will continue to settle so I'll probably have to clean several times more this week.

I have my inhaler in here in case I need it. I'm not allowed to have the windows open since that stirs up the dust more and it isn't warm enough to work or eat on the balcony.

Love the opening Twins. Very clever!!

I thought of your dd and the English AP exam today, Harriet. I hope she does well!! Dd17 chose not to take that one. She will have calc tomorrow, though. ((HUGS)) for the funeral and all you're dealing with. You certainly seem to channel the force very strongly with your extended family.

Dd17 had a temp of 103* this morning BUT still went to school to take another exam. She just doesn't want to miss these tests. And this is one way that illnesses get spread at school. Ergh. She did take some Ad vil + Ty le nol this a.m. and said she felt pretty good. I think she's planning on taking the AP exam tomorrow morning regardless of how she's feeling. It doesn't help that she got an A on the calc. exam she took Monday with a 102* fever.

I did get dd17 to the pedi this morning. She suspects a virus, perhaps the flu against which dd17 has not been immunized.

I got some things done before I took dd17 to the dr.; a lol has been folded and put away, another is washing. The kitchen is reclaimed, I s2s-ed and did my self care, and the crockpot is going.

Next:
- switch laundry
- finish lunch
- strip MBR bed

OK, now I can see the dust in the air. The bedroom is going to be awful to get clean. I can only hope it doesn't get into the closets. Dh sealed his with Glad Press & Seal because it was right across from the bathroom and I put a drop cloth over the bathroom door but it seems to have done little to save the bedroom. That will be at least an hour of cleaning before bed tonight. This room is fine - no sign of dust in the air and still my chest is tight.

I've finished the US account reconciliation so have completed 3.66 tasks today. Have had a look at the next account to do (Paypal) and will take a pause for an hour at lunch. I've grabbed my jacket and am debating spending it on the balcony. The biggest issue is I have been drinking water steadily and have to use a washroom. All three of mine are unusable at the moment. There's a grungy one off the lobby that I can use if things gets worse.

Back from walking ddog, almost half way to 10K steps and I did 10 "floors" too.

Going to wash up a bit and head out...
-groceries
-bank
-goodwill drop off
-what else?

Yuck, I feel nauseated. Probably the walk after taking meds/vitamin on a less than full tummy?

Kathryn, I'm glad to be back doing this particular volunteer shift. I was treasurer of the org for two or three years when kids were in elementary school, and used to do the sleep over some. My dfriend down the street goes to this church, but has never done this particular volunteer activity. OTOH, she devotes many, many hours to the animal shelter. Most of us have ways of giving back to our communities, either through volunteering or monetarily or both.
