Harriet's answer is, as usual, very wise, educated, and full of common sense.
Isn't there also a weight-bearing exercise component to preventing bone loss?

Today my exercise has been spring cleaning aka decluttering center rooms in the house.

Tues. 2.11.2020
Back from dr. Apt. My dr. Was excited with my efforts it was 9.8 dropped it 2 full points down to 7.8
Bp, 123 / 71 oxygen 97% the nurse tech said I had awesome numbers.
Keep doing what I am doing I still have to go back in June.
Bs was way up in ack land this morning.
Got on the stat bike before breakfast.
Walked the ddog after lunch.
After dinner I am considering damp mopping the rec. Room hard surface.
Turns out chores and spring cleaning are good for me.
We gave up pizza, instead we have pizza pockets, toppings on squash like veg. Lagnasga no noodles, and smaller chick en pot pie now..

Nancy, that is great improvement in your A1C! Congrats, and keep up doing what you're doing!
I walked ddog twice this afternoon. I need about 2K steps to make my goal today, I'll do some treadmill time.

Nancy - BWTG on having such improved A1C! I admire and marvel at how you handle with the constant requirements of T1D.
Harriet - Thank you! That made total sense to me. I can go along with adding smaller doses of D2 and calcium. The PA prescribed 50,000IU of D2 to be taken twice a week plus another 5000 IU of D3 to be taken with the daily calcium 2600mg. That would mean adding 135,000IU of D vitamin each week. We are nearing the end of winter so my D levels should be about as low as they get year-round, but they are showing normal without all this additional medication.
Yes! The weight-bearing activity sounds like the thing to focus on. I am working on incorporating that into my daily habits.

WTO Nancy!!!
RunKitty... been thinking of you as I’ve been adding running in my life. Not continuously, but in intervals. Today I ran 1/2’mile with no stopping and then as the last part of training did 1/4 mile and then 15 air squats
four times which means I ran 1 1/2 miles today... no one is more amazed than me. And I love running now, especially since it’s so cool. Yesterday I ran 2 miles in intervals 1/2 miles at a time!
