RR - I'm sorry about the death in your extended family. I'm thankful that you can be there to provide support.

Making progress.
** Homeschool finished around 11am so i took DS13 to work site. He just came home for lunch (leftover spaghetti and hot rolls was his choice)
** Micro is at the groomer (DH volunteered to take him)
** I put some pinto beans on to soak early this morning. I had a ham bone from the freezer that added with them and then cooked in the instant pot. They are cooked to perfection (IMHO)
** I spent extra time planting seeds and transplanting seedlings. Also ordered several bags of perlite, bone meal and bloodmeal because it was cheaper than buying in B&M store. I find it a bit crazy they will deliver it to my porch cheaper than I can go buy it.
** I have finished all my routines and am thinking through the next one that I want to create.

I'm glad you and your son can give each other support at the funeral, Ramblin'. Be safe.

I'll have to check LadyM's method of buying soil amendments and see if that's true around here, too.

I bit the bullet and called to make an appt for an eye exam to prepare to get new glasses. Yipes, they had one tomorrow morning, kinda early. Well... .. not my plan, but it gets it over with, so I agreed. I have never needed a new glasses prescription so much. With the diminished area in the left one that never has come back completely, it's time to start providing the right eye the perfect prescription on a more regular basis. I've always been terrible about putting regular exams off.

HRH says he sees no problem with driving me, so I won't have to worry about dilation.

Took care of the new grandpuppy yesterday afternoon. She is growing so fast and is going to be a powerhouse, I believe.

Hope you get a pretty pair of glasses, Harriet. I was supposed to go to eye doctor Wednesday and in all the flurry around here helping DH get ready for a fellowship at youth group (he was cooking pans of ribs and I was doing most of the work) I forgot my appointment. They called and rescheduled for next Wednesday and I simply mustn't forget again.

RRose, sorry you have a funeral to attend, but it will be a nice trip, the weather is fine right now for a road trip.

I've been working hard in the garage...(storage area for the focus is this week). I've done some on 3 separate areas. The section by the door was really bad. Started out pulling a year out of the permanent storage trunk and I gave that to DH after checking it..and he took it outside and burned it. Safer that way. Employee numbers, bank info etc. I folded the plant coverings up and put them back in their container, threw the one away with the big hole in the middle. Sorted, cleaned the 3-shelf unit after pulling everything out away from the shelves. A few big things tossed. Shelves washed, vacuumed around the bottoms etc. Took the shop vac with all the attachments and poles and got all the cobwebs all over the walls and ceiling. Pulled the car out so DH could use the leaf blower and blow out all the leaves.

Thanked him for helping to clean and tidy up HIS messes. Yeah, yeah, ok.

I know why this is happening to my garage...DH hasn't been working and his big truck takes up all the middle space in the shop when it's here and we can't really get around to put things away and organize over there... so he just leaves everything in the regular garage...where it piles up.

So it's not good, but it's better than it was.

its snowing - I know I have at least 5 hours before bedtime but I am not sure what I want to do. do I want to start something big or sit on my aunt granny and dream about the garden.

It has POURED rain here all day. Fields are completely under water all around us. Our septic system is being sluggish.

Rain here all day too…
AND dmom wrecked her car in the PARKING LOT at her physical therapy appt. She thinks it may be totaled. She’s fine — except maybe jammed her thumb.
Anyway, I had to go get her and take her home…
Sigh….
Oh — her foot slipped off the brake as she was parking and in the midst of that, she hit the gas instead of the brake.

I told her if I have to take her keys, then she had to move closer to me.

My goodness.

This messed up my morning routine and I’ve been a slug hd rest of the day.

Cathy, hope your field drains before the septic system stops working. Boy, that is a worry, isn't it?

I cleaned out the refrigerator. A lot of food needed to be dealt with. I sorted through the fresh veggies and made a big tossed salad and got rid of the too-old stuff. 2 chickens in there...cut up one for us to eat and cut up the other one and put it into the freezer. The meat I'd been thawing, I made a big 2 lb. meatloaf...some of that will go into the freezer too. I'm happy I won't have to cook much for the next several days.

Swept and mopped kitchen, hallway, laundry room. Dishes are caught up.

Helped DH with a permit. He went to the county office a week and a half ago, but I never saw a permit here...so he wanted to check on it because he couldn't remember what they told him down there. Printed out some stuff and highlighted what he needs to ask about...and he'll go back tomorrow. I sent an email for him and talked to the customer.

Well, it was a full day. Getting in the shower next. I'm really tired.

Oh, Lucylee, did your DMother hit something? Or somebody? If it rained all day maybe her feet were slippery from the water? I'm glad she wasn't hurt more badly, the thumb is enough. Boy it's always something, isn't it?

Harmony, she hit THREE somethings:
A Lexus, a Lincoln Navigator, and something else. The most damage was done to the first, which then hit the other, and then she apparently sideswiped the third.
I told ds and dh, I don’t know how on earth she could do that much damage in a parking lot. Shaking my head…

Oh, lucylee, I'm so sorry, and so glad you could go get her right away! Good for you, being there soon. Remember, my parking lot mishap, leaving our two cars looking potentially fixable, both driving away, ultimately totaled both cars. Her front had enough of a blow to crack the engine block even though her car looked pretty good, and my two side doors were both hit along with the spine (?) between them, so that just too many components had to be replaced to make it financially sensible for ins co.

HRH would be telling her, "if money can fix it, it's not a problem". (That's not completely perfect logic, but if she herself is okay, that's the important thing.)

I've visited my colorist. I think it was successful-ish. We'll see tomorrow. I'm getting used to this new-to-me bathroom space, so it doesn't seem so time-consuming and awkward as it did the first couple times here.

Ds came over and walked around the front planting beds with me. He's going to pick up whatever my order for soil is at L owes, using his trailer bed.

LadyM, we checked around but there is just no $ benefit to having any of the soil amendments delivered here. The delivery charges are high. I'm happy for your bargain!

Cathy, think dry thoughts! It will surely change soon.

blessed, garden dreams are always more colorful during snowfall.

Lucylee, I feel so badly for your DMom. She must be so upset to have caused other people this much damage, and expensive cars, too. And the really bad thing is an accident like this follows one around for many years, making insurance rates grow. I'm glad you were there for her.

I got stuck in Y T watching videos. Minimal Mom. About paring down your wardrobe to 33 items, including coats and jewelry and accessories. I could do it since I have mostly blues in my wardrobe or things that would go with blue...and a couple different colors... though I notice M M wears mostly black which I am not that fond of...one pair of black slacks are enough for me. Could I do it with just 33? Probably if I didn't have to count the everyday around-the-house ones I wear. I just did a quick count and have 72 that I wear, church, group study, out shopping, dr. appointments. Another 20 less-than-perfect around the house things...5 sweaters I wear a lot. She doesn't count underclothes or PJ's. She does count shoes.

Then there's the bin of a-bit-too-small on me right now clothes. She doesn't have any of those.

Does anybody think they could ever do do this? During my quick count I saw things that I definitely wouldn't keep or think important if I was limiting. I'm blessed with enough closet space for all this... and I suspect my collection has grown. Man...
