We are both slow-moving around here! I am amazed I got up and out of the house in time to actually be early for the meeting. Sunday, I was really in a bad mood all day long. And yesterday, I did virtually nothing at all until after 9:00 pm! I got a couple loads of laundry done last night and have a couple more small loads to do today.
After I got home from the meeting, I fell into the danger zone of my day: the time of day I want to sit at the table, read the paper, and EAT. Sigh. It doesn't even matter that I just came from a lunch-meeting! I had a small chicken salad and Ritz crackers at the meeting, a few bites of strawberry pretzel salad, and a pretty good size queso (sp?) cheese dip and chips. They gave me so much of that, I brought home the extra and finished it off with some Triscuits.
Also talked to ddil and dmom on the phone.
It started raining while we were in the restaurant, so it's cold and dreary around here now. DH is asleep and I would like to be.
I am reading another e-library book (The Kitchen House) and it is sooo good! I can barely put it down, so I'm reading late into the night.
Dee, I am so sorry about your dbil and your dsisil... I know there are lots of hard decisions for them to face and it has to be hard on Mr. Dee, being the closest family. I hope you get to go north without changing a lot of plans and that things do calm down for your family.
Happy birthday to your dd!!! That is so wonderful that she is going to the graduation of her former student. She may never even know what a difference she has made in that young man's life, but I'm so glad he has been blessed with her as a stable force for her.
We were talking today at our meeting about young people going into teaching, and we all agreed that we would not encourage anyone to do it unless they truly felt it was a calling they HAD to fulfill. One lady said she would never want her granddaughter to teach unless it was at the college level.
I am glad I was a teacher, and I can't imagine doing anything else with my life, but I am sooo glad I don't have to teach today -- the problems that have been caused by Covid, plus what seems like constantly increasing violence and disciplinary issues... nope. I'm glad to be home these days.
Speaking of nightmares... (((HUGS))) for blessed... I have a recurring dream that I am teaching school again, and I have forgotten to either (1) sign in each morning or (2) take attendance -- for days/months... and it's the end of the semester and I am either not going to get paid or I am in all kinds of trouble for not keeping my attendance records.
Caterpillars and roaches and -- what else? Geckos falling from the trees -- oh my. At least * knock on wood * I'm not dealing with any of that at the moment. We do have a bunch of these flying things that look like a mosquito and a spider got together. I have heard what they are actually called, but I can't remember. I'm already seeing them around the back door. Our bug lady comes every three months also, and I'm always glad to see her.

I would definitely agree that you have earned that right, LadyM! I must admit, sometimes I read all that you have done in a day, and I think, "There MUST be more hours in the day in OK than than are in AL!" I know it's just that you USE those hours so much more wisely than I do... but you do get a lot out of the time you have.a time & season for everything and right now it is my time to slack up.

Tomorrow, I have to go to ob-gyn for yearly check-up. Ugh. I guess everyone hates that. I keep telling myself, "It doesn't take long... it doesn't take long..."
Friday, we have a funeral for our church music minister. I've told y'all about him before; he had cancer. Young man -- 40ish, I guess. He and his wife have a daughter, 12 years old, I think. Even though we all knew he had cancer, this came sorta unexpectedly. We had been told he was stable, and he was at home when he died.
Either Thursday or Friday, dmom wants me to meet her at Wmart auto dept and take her back home, so she can leave her truck for service. Since she has been driving the truck ds was keeping for her, she has been very displeased with the brakes and she is pretty sure it needs new brake pads. She is hoping Wmart can take care of that for her.
Saturday is "Fun Day." DGS has two ballgames.
I'm kinda tired just typing that out.
