Shingles chat - If ya'll remember, HRH had to rush to get a first shingles shot before his treatments took his immunity down. They wanted him to have some shingles protection in place before reducing immune system, but could not then allow him a second shot after that. It would have been too chancy to challenge his system that much after treatments were started. So one of the questions he wants to ask Gen Prac is, does this mean he has "some" protection going forward? Or is it more correct that he has almost none because he couldn't get the follow-up in a timely manner? Should he get another shot now? Hmmm... ..

An hour at a graveside service, LadyM? wow, that is a lot. Although, graveside-only have become so common that I suppose we will become more used to having longer, possibly more meaningful times at gravesides.

I went out and picked up a couple weeks' worth of fallen limbs after the rain was finished today. I made a dent only. Tried to imagine "filling in" the leaves on the trees, guessing how much sun each area and bed will be getting. It's clear that if I plant at the back door, too, there will hardly be a smidgen of sun, so those decisions will be simple, if not "easy". I'm happy to see my dmother's English Ivy still thrives there. She didn't care that some call it invasive. She enjoyed the climbing habit and thought it was graceful. Now that a protector is here again ( ) there will be no more threats to it. I think the boys both just chopped it back, assuming neat equaled best.

I made a huge salad for supper and we had pizza.

We had a busy family day. I think Twins would like our project for the day — we placed a grave marker at the grave of dh’s great-great grandmother.
She was the only one of dh’s grandparents back to that generation who had no stone, and recently, dh began to think about that more. He had me order a simple stone marker for her.
Ds, in the meantime, had come up on a small rock in the graveyard where this part of the family was buried, and noticed her initials were scratched roughly on that stone. There’s no telling how many times we’ve passed by that and never noticed. We had previously ordered a veterans marker for her husband, a Civil War veteran, and just placed it beside others in the family.

So today, we went out there and ds placed thd new stone beside the one with her initials and moved her husband’s to be beside her.

In light of accuracy, Twins, we aren’t absolutely positive we have his marker in the right spot, but we feel good about at least having them side-by-side.

After that we ride around and visited the graves of a couple local legendary characters.

Since getting home, I’m afraid I have spent my day much as Dee’s dsil.
I will have a dgrands each of the next two nights and both on Sunday. And I will do school drop-off Mon. Morning.
