Baby step progressing through the day.
** We just finished homeschool. DS13 immediately asked "Can I go to work now?"
** I made Chicken Parmesanwith spaghetti noodles on the side. It turned out very tasty.
** i have prepped the items to take tonight. 200 filled eggs and $20 deposit on attending a lady's event later this month.

My blood draw last week only took one stick and the first 3 tubes they filled were painless. However, by the time they switched to tubes #4 and #5 it became painful. I still have a big green/yellow bruise from the experience. I got that lab report yesterday and was mostly pleased with it. Everything was within normal range except Cholesterol went up a couple points so I'm sure that will be topic of discussion the next visit with family doctor.

As far as the blood draws, I just wish there could be a little more continuity in this office in which he has had innumerable draws. Where are the notes that should tell personnel to remember (or learn from notes) the troubles they've had in the past and prepare for this? Every single time, it's first denial that there's going to be any trouble (although HRH is telling them so in the moment) and then insistence that no one has EVER known before - what a surprise. And THEN the more experienced nurses are called AFTER he's hurting and feeling downright sick to his stomach. A few months later, repeat. A few months later, repeat. So avoidable. Or at least could be mitigated.

Wednesday...
Catching up from an actually fairly productive couple of days, BUT, not so that anyone could tell from the looks of this house.
Today, I
went to post office,
paid a couple bills,
took care of teacher group emails,
and some emails from Wmart concerning dgs' dressy pants and vest for the recital, which he actually requested, and he NEVER asks for anything in the clothing department... so it had just better arrive * and FIT * by the 23rd
helped (?) dh with football ticket order (mostly just aggravated him; he still doesn't feel well and is super-easily frustrated)...
AND I finally started the laundry, which is normally a Monday task. And my goodness we have a LOT of laundry this week, because it seems that we both were a dozen layers last Saturday to ballgames.

I have also talked with dmom, ds, and ddil on the phone. That eats up a good chunk of time, too.

I'll be cooking supper in about 30 minutes. We're having baked fish, rice, rolls, and salad.

Y'all, last night I stuffed plastic eggs for the children's egg hunt at church tonight. THEN realized, about midway through, there was too much hard candy in there... I was afraid someone would get choked and die. Had to go back through ALL the eggs and remove the hard candy... and re-stuff. Had about half my eggs left over then, and a LOT of hard candy that I hope dh will like... plus, I had put a bit of tape on each egg because they were not staying shut after I stuffed them.
SIGH. That was a lot of trouble, when there will probably be a TON of candy for the few kids we have show up. Shaking my head...

Yesterday, the funeral visitation was nice... but sad. As I told a friend in line with us, some people just seem so ALIVE that you just can't imagine them not being. I'm so glad I went, though. Her children seemed to appreciate it very much.
Also got to visit some with her brother-in-law, a former pastor at my childhood church, and the preacher who baptized me. 53 years ago. I last saw him when he helped conduct my ddad's funeral, so that's been 9 years next month.
There was a HUGE crowd there; and when dmom couldn't find my car in the parking lot, she went on in, and I bet she had been in line for 20 minutes when a friend came out, saw me, and told me where she was! I was so aggravated. WHY does dmom even HAVE a cell phone??? But I went on in and just got in line with her. I hope no one thought I was acting like I thought I was special. She needed me though, because then she went and sat in a church pew until I got a little closer to the family. It is really hard for her to stand for long periods like that, just like dh, who didn't even try to go. He knew we'd be there forever, and we were... at least an hour from the time I got in line till we left. Of course, some of that was my own fault, because... though y'all probably wouldn't guess... I do tend to stop and talk to everyone...

A nurse told me to not allow anyone to stick me more than once and to never allow them to move the needle around under the skin trying to stick the vein. She said if they weren't experienced enough to get it on the first try, then to tell them to get someone who can do it. She gave me those instructions after she saw both my arms bruised from multiple botched blood draw attempts.

I've made 4 kid support trips today. Back-forth-back=forth. repeat. repeat.

DBro called and asked what I was doing. I told him that I'm the most predictable person that he knows. I do the same things over and over.

I water the garden every time I visit it. The plants don't have a well-established root system yet and the wind dries everything out so fast. It takes me 2-3 days to water all the raised beds, so I keep a continual loop going. I have considered installing a garden sprinkler system like I did at our last house, but I enjoy the hands-on watering that focuses me on each individual plant.

DH started cooking hamburgers & hot dogs at 3pm for tonight's meal. He is making 240 hot dogs and 120 hamburgers.
