I have not finished a.m. routine. Going to focus on that next. Has not been a productive day at all.

While I was out I also filled up the gas tank in my car. Went to the Walmart place. It is small with poor access but I assume it had to fit into that space. It's crazy because it seems like everyone only pulls half way through and then everyone else is backing into spaces eve to get to the pumps. There are times I just look at it and go on buy because I don't want to deal with the crazy. While out I also walked through the "Tuesday morning" place. Didn't buy anything but it's always fun to look at pretty things.

I'm setting the timer for me to work at :15 before the hour, and to work 45 min and at least get something done.

hello - the poor painter found out that he is here another day! the man the was going to spray the cabinets is needed on better cabinets lol - tomorrow he will have to hand paint our old decrepit cabinets.

so far marked all the furniture for the movers

emptied the dw - dd younger cleaned up the counters etc. this morning but doesn't like rinsing dishes - I almost have a full load of the "clean" dishes in the dw. I had to rinse most of them off and will have to rewash them.

scrubbed down the old leather couch that will be in the family room until we can order a new couch.

next:
sweep the 3 season room floor again
tape the newspaper to the floor for staining the outdoor furniture.
empty dd older cabinets to make them easy to move - they are very heavy.

I processed the mail.
I need to work on my bedroom next maybe tomorrow.
I loaded some of the donations in the rig.
Walked the dog 59* outside cloudy looked colder that it actually was.
Dug out more dandelions that are coming up now after winter.
I have mowed the yard hu raa! Watered it too.
S2Slippers dried my hair.

Feeling better now.

Had a good-sized basket of odds 'n ends (mostly all paper/notebooks/etc) to go through. Set my timer for 20 minutes and managed to get through the most of it. I'll do the same tomorrow. Found some things that I have my 'look for' list.

Across the street the son of the owner who passed away last November, has put up wood fencing -a LOT of it around their property. Today I noticed that 2 of their work trucks are there and at least 2 guys are coating the fence with something. Dsonil says this guy invented something to coat wooden fences with to keep them from deteriorating. Right now it's a charcoal color so I'm wondering if they will eventually paint it. Time will tell. They're turning this place into a very nice looking ranch. Nice for dd's property value for sure. They work on this property at least every Friday and sometimes Thursday. Amazing what they've done so far. The matriarch obviously had tons and tons of just plain scrap out behind the tree on this property. There have been at the very least 8 big dumpsters for scrap carrying loads out of there. Right now there's still one they put back there to load up. Won't surprise me if there's several more.

bw2, you are a whirlwind of activity right now. I'm wishing I had your energy for home improvements!

You are correct LadyM. DD has come so far, I'm glad you're not making a big deal of this happening once. I wonder if she was upset about something else or if the there have been issues with the classmate that this was the last straw? Perhaps she'll talk about what set her off at some point.

Glad the blood sugar was good today Nancy. You're getting a lot done too.

And hoping with all that Harriet's electricity is back on soon. Was it a transformer blown? I seem to remember that happening with a big bang noise.

Dh is leaving in the a.m. for three days away - this is work. I need to GMAT to take advantage of the free time!

We were able to get back online. Very grateful to these guys who work in rain and cold. The one man who eventually talked to me said that yes, they can see how long your power has been out because of the new meters. But, just having the usage of power stop does not cause a red flag at that moment, so they still need a call. It just lets them know if someone is in bigger trouble than they might have thought. Something like that.

It is not transformers that cause the sound we associate with that surprising "boom" when electricity goes out, I've been told twice now. It is sound traveling along wire when it's hit by a fallen tree, etc. You don't necessarily hear the sound from the direction of the trouble. It can seem to a witness that the sound came from one direction when the problem happened in another.

The storm, which was mostly a huge and unpredicted rain (even the electric guy said it caught them off guard), is part of a revision of weather forecasts in general here. Sigh. Now they are saying 40 degrees tonight but 35 tomorrow night, numbers that had NOT been predicted at all. I brought some plants in, even tonight, because I could and because I just don't want any trouble. I'll set them out in sun tomorrow and bring them in one more night, then that's all the babying I can do.

We made a grocery order tonight. Yipes, expensive because we've put a lot off. I will pick up in the morning, wearing a coat, probably, lol.

Then Wednesday, Thursday, I am at my substitute dd job. I hate that I will miss HRH's kidney dr appt for the first time in years, but it can't be helped. HRH says he is going to ask the doctor to write things down more this time.

Agreeing that I will also avoid crowded/tight or confusing places, and even go out of my way for a calmer experience.
