There is a very tiny store here that sells pies. That's all they sell. Meat pies and fruit pies. That's it, that's all. Dh wanted a meat pie for supper tonight. By the time I got there they only had the "single serving" size. Four cost $21. Dh wanted "beef" so I got him a steak and kidney pie, a steak and mushroom pie and a beef vegetable pie. I got a chicken pie for myself. That's all we ha. Dh made it through the first 2 and I left a forkful of mine. We were both stuffed.

Cathy - That is a great find!

We have a couple of local women who cook meat pies for their husbands lunch that work construction. Over the years they started making extra meat pies and their husbands sell them where they work for $5. I used to be leery about eating them but after years of seeing them provide this food I consider it a treat when we can get them. Their husbands were working at the same place as DS13 this week and he brought 4 of the meat pies home for lunch. I ate part of one and it was excellent. I have never seen meat pies sold in any mexican restaurants. I wonder if it is because of the hands-on time it takes to make them.

I am lousy at relaxing. I tried but within a few minutes I gave up and started doing stuff. I made a triple batch of tuna salad. Then took DD10 to the farm and had an hour long visit with Rachael. It is rare for the farm not to be full of visitors, but I guess the 40mph wind is making people stay indoors.

I spent another 30 minutes in the garden. I wanted to be there more than I wanted to escape the wind. I did spend most of the time on my knees to be closer to the ground, so the strong wind didn't make me feel like I'm going to topple over.

Hi! We went to our study, then we got lunch and then a trip through the supermarket. I should have ladyM's problem... I can sure relax easily. Laid down and took a nice long nap.

Maybe tomorrow I'll do something productive around here.

Dee, sure hope your DD feels better soon. Sorry that happened to her.
Nancy, I'm feeling very grateful right now for the drain in my laundry room floor.

No zoom class this week too much other stuff going on now. Not surprised.
I am listening for the washer to spin out so I can test it out.
I have brought in the stuff that was outside to dry.
Some of the carpet chunks are upstairs still need to dry a bit more.
So far so good yea for success!
The next load is in the dryer, sheets can wait till tomorrow.
Enjoyed the flowers in the yard when I was hanging clean up towels on the fences to day that is how I celebrated earth day!!

Awwww! I missed TOTHing.

I was gardening for Earth Day! :)

First went to buy yet more potting soil. Probably got too much. The big bags were soaked and therefore even heavier.
As usual, getting the large bags onto the cart was something I could do. But lifting high enough to breach the trunk edge - nope. They were supposedly sending me someone to put it into my trunk. I waited and waited and waited. A man in the parking lot was suddenly beside me  saying "do you need help?" and put it in quickly for me. I was embarrassed. If I'd known a customer so near was about to go to that trouble I'd have closed the trunk and gone back in to insist on help from the guys with the belts. Oh well, of course I was very appreciative.

At home I planted the square bed. One set of plants had to be replanted because I forgot and placed them too close to the murderous drip from the roof. They'll still get somewhat clobbered but at least it will be spreading branches, not the very root systems!

I wrestled the super-large circular planter, half-full of soil, close to the driveway so it can be seen, but I'm still torn about exactly where to put it. I'm believing that as I sleep on this tonight, having actually had my hands on the planter today, I'll have a morning epiphany. Moving it again after putting in even more soil... .. um, no. Where I plant it, I'd better love it.

Ordered coconut coir liners for dstepdil's hanging baskets, which I seem to have adopted. I was disappointed I couldn't find them today, so that I now have to wait. Second soaker hose and 2 lead hoses arrive tomorrow so that I can arrange all watering neatly instead of having it all look like it could trip someone.

Dd42 came over by surprise and waved at me planting as she drove up. She needed a quiet room for a phone meeting so she went in my office and that worked out fine. I did have to oust Tobias, who thinks that when someone sits at my computer they need his help.

Nancy I'm sooooo sorry you had to deal with that! Mopping so much. Looks like your day was productive otherwise.

Did y’all see my post about my holly bushes?
They are not showing any new growth yet, after the hard prune in the fall. I am very scared that dh was right and they are gone for good. The lady who pruned them said they just need some consistent warm weather.
Sent dfriend a picture of them today; she suspects they’re dead but said wait till end of May.
Tomorrow is another day.
