Re: Happy Mother's Day PWYC
Good Morning!
I'm sitting next to an open window enjoying the smells and sounds of the outside. The window will soon be closed as we are headed for our first triple digit day of heat for this year. The a/c will go on later today.
Mother's Day is always a bit weird since we have adopted the 2 grandkids. DS13 bought me gifts but nothing for DD44. DD10 said her teacher made her do a gift for DD44. DD10 wrote "Thank you for the seafood" on it. Huh? DD44 asked what I wanted for Mother's Day, and I told her a pot of Chicken and dumplings for the kids, so I don't need to cook today. It is a bit weirder than most, but we just love our way through it.
DH has a stomach bug happening this morning. Hopefully, it won't be shared with the rest of us. We are staying home today until we know how contagious it is.

(LM ) & family. Happy Mothers day for all.
Dson is cooking today it is sunny so far.
My dog just brought in a gardening croc [shoe]. Sipping black coffee from my new mug.
I am stiff again so trying to limber up. Slept till 6:55. Unsual for me.
I have been doing some limber up exercises, stretching, and pillow squeezes with a pillow.
I can read and learn how to use my new Drimel tool. U tube should be helpful.
I want to use it for walking sticks I make.
Dson will help move a thing we need help with that holds fire sticks.
But first I need to get the stuff out of the spot I want it in.
He said to unload it first rolling Of course! Lol!
I had already thought of that.
Dgd & I were laughing about some things on my list, like I have a close pin sp? Holding the
furnace filter in place bc I cannot get the Wire to keep it there. She liked the gate video I sent her and said she could do it.
It is wood & lattice slats.

Happy mothers day!!!
D lady thank you so much for the start!
I think it's good that you let them choose to buy or not buy presents for your dd - there has to be a lot of feelings behind not wanting to make a gift.
could you give a little something from you to her.
My d mom in law always bought us a little plant for mothers day -
too funny about the seafood from your dd - I would love to know what thoughts were in her when she wrote this!
hope your dh feels better!!!
good morning and happy mothers day d Nancy!
how nice that your dog retrieved the shoe - lol I think she needs to get the other one - lol.
oooo learning how to use the Dremel - how fun!
nothing like a good giggle with kids - so cute!
Happy day to everyone!

Re: Happy Mother's Day PWYC
Yesterday I spent the day painting and the young man I hired did an amazing job planting my trees, bushes and plants. He also moved the dirt that built up from all the rain - amazing what he could do in a day!!!
His young body could get more done in one day than what I could do in a month on my own now.
He is coming back next week. I thought this would take most of the spring!

I took the kids with me this morning to the local grocery store. They had a selection of flowers & plants. The kids each selected flowers in water globes to give to DD44. I've never seen these before. The employees explained the flowers will last a long time. They have customers that bought them last year and the flowers are still good. ANYway, after the flower fades or dies then you turn the globe upside down and take the rubber seal off, replace the flower and water, then reattach the rubber gasket.

How wonderful to have an efficient helper, blessed, and most importantly, that he listens to hear your direction. Real garden help is 80 percent respecting direction and 20 percent muscle.
Yes, agreeing with blessed that's a wise phrase from LadyM's family.
A lattice-slat gate to make sounds attractive and cottage-y, Nancy. Ooooh, I see white paint and climbing flowers.
Is Twins' traveling today? Good traveling wishes!
These two daughters are so different - who reared them? Both texting me from their planets.
dd23 abbreviates every exciting mini-sentence: "Kk! See you after work! Don't get near me!" (Covid has been at work)
dd42 sends a romantic floral photo that I didn't realize had MDay greeting in such white, thin letters. I made the mistake of admitting I thought it was simply random. So we were back and forth as she teased me about not being satisfied, and that now I expected a random one. She sent a gif of Poirot putting his glasses on and off. (?) So I sent her a quote from Agatha on the randomness of life. HRH wonders why I did that, but it was obviously the only response, right?

Re: Happy Mother's Day PWYC
HRH ordered Mexican food to be delivered as a surprise. It was quite delish and very filling. He had ordered me what the restaurant suggested as "Trio of Vegetable Choices" and I really appreciated it, but I believe the main ingredient was cheese. Wow, full tummy.
I've been searching for a saucer for a flowerpot and noticed cheap ones at home imp store but wouldn't pay for a flimsy piece of clear plastic. I've regretted that! Happily, part of this order came with the perfect size topper on a foil plate, and it would pass for the exact same flimsy piece of clear plastic. I wouldn't let HRH store leftovers in it, but whooshed it away to my garden things instead. HRH says this makes me a hoarder.
He has called his ddad Joe's second wife, who no one else in the family really speaks to anymore, to tell her Happy Day, something he does every year. They are sitting a long time on the phone comparing doctor's opinions of various ailments and talking about how much better things used to be made, which is also same. He is putting off calling his own mother and says he has to get up the courage to spend all that time irritated. Sigh. Well, there, now he finally calls her. Thank goodness.

Love this!whooshed it away to my garden things
I am making a renewed effort to treat Sunday the opposite of the rest of the days of the week. Today I am trying to do as little as possible, to eat whenever & whatever I want, to make no effort to improve anything, to give myself kudos for not being productive, to keep steps as low as possible, etc. This mindset works for me. The forced break means I am eagerly looking forward to getting back to normal.
Summer weather has arrived here, so I flipped the a/c switch on. It will stay on until November or so.
DS13 has a friend here. They are making a club house out of a room used for storage. They organized the room and moved most of the items to the attic. Then they added a Wi-Fi point so they have internet, a smart tv, an echo to provide music, an ice chest of drinks, and a couple of yard chairs. This generation does things a little different than when I was a kid.

Re: Happy Mother's Day PWYC
I took the 3 kids to the farm so they could spend time with the baby animals. We came home with another rabbit and 3 dozen fresh eggs. The new-to-us 8-week-old rabbit is a California White breed. Now our rabbit population is at 4 with a firm limit of 5 rabbits. DD10's rabbit that was due May 1st hasn't had any babies, so we are thinking something went wrong in her pregnancy.
I fried some zucchini and enjoyed every bite.
