Dmom and I had a great day! She came to church with us, then we ate at the cafeteria across the road from our church, along with ds, ddil, and dgd.
(DGS wanted to come home and eat with dh, who did not make it to church. He is still having a lot of problems with this virus thing. So am I, for that matter, but luckily, I made it through this day pretty well.)
I made the drive to the show house just fine -- it's about an hour away -- but oh my goodness. GPS did NOT recognize the address they gave, and we had a ridiculous time getting to it.
But it was definitely something to see, and we enjoyed it. Dmom said, as much as she wanted to see the house, she was really happy to have some time with just me and her -- no little ones arguing or talking over us, you know. And I was not really good company, I'm sure, because I did ask her some things about what I've been talking about in J&C, and I couldn't help but cry, but I think she understands. Well, she doesn't understand ALL of it, because I didn't tell her the part dfriend asked me not to, that has given me doubts and regrets, but she understands why this is still on my mind. (Partly, in her opinion, because I never got to live the REALITY of it, only the DREAM, which she thinks would have quickly shattered had I ever experienced the reality.)
But I think she had a very nice time, and we were home pretty early.
Going out to eat now with ds and dgrands.
One of my cousin's children wrote on her school Mother's Day card, "What I like best about my mom: She is redneck."
(She really isn't, so this is hilarious. The daughter, age 7, probably is pretty much redneck. Beth Dutton on Yellowstone is her role model, apparently. We don't understand this; her mom doesn't even watch the show. She thinks she has seen it at her aunt's house.)
