Watched a how to video of my new tool they are more for drafting think carving walking sticks,
not construction. But fun none the less I hope!
30 min. On stat bike done.
Planted toms, herbs & are veg in plant cage and where I took out the one rose bush.
Got em watered plus a gentle soaking rain is falling.

It's still raining it is supposed to clear by mid afternoon.

Re: Soaking Sat.
Dishes were done early and I ran the dishwasher.
Laundry got switched over and now it's all away.
Helped dh move the old fridge and now it's at our neighbour's place.
Burning some stuff in the fire pit.
"leftover" meat sauce with pasta and a Caesar salad for supper. I haven't decided what kind of pasta yet.
We don't plant anything until Victoria Day Weekend.

Re: Soaking Sat.
Good Morning!
Lots of productive activity in the SHE village this morning. BWTG to the overachievers who have been busy getting things done early in the day
I walked a mile (2k steps) in the garden this morning while I was watering. I like doing this and it brings me joy with the plus of getting some steps. I water each individual plant so i can put eyes on them to make sure I stay aware of potential problems (bugs, fungus, moles/voles, etc). It takes several days for me to water all the plants which works out well to encourage the plant roots to grow deep.
I am going to do my best to have a slower paced day. The only thing on the calendar for today is taking DMIL for her weekly hair appt. Plus taking DD10 twice to the farm to water/feed the rabbits & chicks. Also, DS13 has requested a friend spend the night. In between those things I want to relax as much as possible while still getting in 8K steps.
I'm cooking Crispy pork chops, mashed potatoes, green salad, refried beans, and cooked spinach later today. I'm going to attempt to make Chef Johns Strawberry Shortcake recipe since the garden is providing an abundance of strawberries every day.

Re: Soaking Sat.
I am still watering as we didn't get the rain they said we would - it's been a dry hot week but the temps are supposed to break and may go back into the 50's which I don't worry about but the 30's that can suddenly happen- that's northern Illinois for you - sunshine, with heat and humidity, one minute
and cold the next
so far: dd older cleaned the kitchen - she is cooking today
dh and I went to the other donation place and they are no longer collecting donations. They were actually closed today because they didn't have enough workers.
if the children's set doesn't get picked up then I will have the garbage man take it. I feel bad that something so good can't be donated but I feel better knowing that I am clearing out my home again.
Moving everything out and then not letting things back in has been a bigger job than I expected.
I am going to get my phone and take a video of what needs work.
GOAL: SIMPLIFICATION

YES!GOAL: SIMPLIFICATION
DD10 is slow moving this morning. I've been encouraging her to get ready. She got overheated yesterday at the farm and isn't looking forward to being in the heat. It isn't THAT hot here (90's) but our bodies aren't used to it yet.
DH is with his DMom. Today is her hair permanent appt so it will take longer and more $$ than normal.
I made 8 grilled cheese sandwiches for the family lunch. They also have leftover spaghetti, and BBQ pulled pork to eat if they want. I am doing OMAD so won't eat until later today.
I mixed up a wheelbarrow of topsoil with two kinds of compost and have spread it on the area of the yard that I'm trying to improve. I harvested Bermuda grass sprigs from other areas of the yard and planted them in the freshly watered soil/compost.
I'm going to watch an episode of NCIS today. I'm not particularly good at sitting so it will be accomplished in 10–15-minute segments.

Re: Soaking Sat.
Weather is beautiful here today. Sure rain will be in our forecast again soon though.
Dh has '200 Club' at the Fire Department - a dinner, etc -a fund raiser actually. Then he was going to sneak off to go watch DGS22 race at a dirt track near the campground. That was until dd got a picture from said DGS and we realized he's at Disney. He came down with 3 of his roomies from college. So called dh and told him not to bother and he said, "WHAT?!?" Good for him having some fun. Not sure we'll get to see him this time round though. DD has a very busy week. We drove over and had dinner with them last year about this time.
Went to breakfast with dd/dsonil this morning. A friend of dsonil's came along as well. Not dd's favorite person I'm afraid.
I've dozed off and on today. In between I've really accomplished a lot -cleaned off the front porch and cleaned the furniture out there; been transposing lots of password type things, Have over 13,000 steps in, spruced up our bedroom (little hard right now as I'm setting things around that need to be packed).
DD just brought me the pair of short pj's we gave her for Christmas. She can wear them but they're a tad tight. I wear a L-XL maybe. These are 2XL and fit me perfectly. So she gave them back to me. I wanted to try some short pj's so this is a good thing.
She'll know after tonight's game between Toronto Maple Leafs and Tampa Bay whether she can start planning her trip north. She's been in such limbo. She did get an email earlier today warning her that she and about 8 other employees at their 'fun job' were exposed to Covid Thursday night. It simply tells them now to watch for any symptoms and be sure to test if they have any.

Re: Soaking Sat.
The big laundry day I'd been planning finally got done. Our bedspread (queen and fluffy) is a project. For the first time, this new washing machine was actually better, because it has an extra large level and this was the first time I've used it. Anyway, other linens done that had been waiting because of such a busy week.
An extremely quiet day here, just me and HRH. I guess after last week's big influx of kids this was to be expected.
The coming week is also busy and in fact there's a small bday party in it.
blessed, the idea of taking pictures of what needs work is smart.
Cathy, I enjoyed a dish with just simple macaroni pasta today with broccoli but for me the pasta was very "al dente" firm. Actually, I was surprised I liked it like that. Well, I must have, no left-overs. lol Which pasta did you choose.

Re: Soaking Sat.
It was very sunny here! I actually got a little bit sunburned at local festival. Watched ds play, then walked over the grounds with dgrands for an hour or so.
Came home and took a nap!
Dh still feeling mighty poorly, to quote GWTW. He didn’t go to the festival. He is afraid he has cracked a rib or something — has excruciating pain when he coughs.
Dgs is here now; I’ll have both of them tomorrow evening and have to do school drop off Monday morning.
