Good Morning!

Nancy - Thanks for the start. I've heard electrolytes (magnesium in particular) helps with muscle cramps.

(((Mr Harmony)))) I hope your recovery is quick and easy. Aggravated injury is no fun!

Wouldn't it be helpful if an xray could document our emotions?

Yesterday we were talking about doing summer school. DD10 said her worst subject is science (even though she has all A's on report card) so if she is doing summer school it should be a science class. I asked her why she considered science to be her worst subject and her reply had me laughing. She said her science teacher (Mrs T) is always grouchy. Then DD10 said "Mrs T needs to drink some coffee!"
I suspect I am guilty of teaching coffee = kindness connection to DD10. In the early mornings when the kids want me to do something I will tell them - "Hold on. I need to drink my coffee first" They frequently tell me that I am kind to them and thank me for taking good care of them. This has somehow resulted in DD10 thinking drinking coffee results in being kind instead of grouchy.

Maybe we can solve aggravation by serving a cup of coffee?

No kidding, LadyM.

I'm smiling gently at Harriet's ribbing of Harmony's "aggravated" dh. I'm so very glad his doc is trying all the simple things first instead of heading to surgery.

We got in around 4:30 yesterday. My Question of the day would be "Do I have COVID?" I think I only have an ordinary cold. In these times I probably should confirm. Slept poorly last night and night before with sniffly nose and cough off and on all night.

We're supposed to have friends over tonight for his 65th birthday which was while we were away. The plan is to get takeout. This morning dh suggested I check in with dfriends today about seeing them "since I'm sick." (Long past due acknowledgment that I'm not feeling well.  )

PODA:
-laundry (already started)
-instacart grocery order
-COVID home test
-two or three emails that I NEED TO SEND
-unpack and put things away

my question today:
is this helping you stay within your clutter threshold and are you staying within your ability threshold? Have you figured out what the purpose of the room (house or garden) you are working on?

Next right thing: for some reason I keep thinking the bottom is going to fall underneath me today. I don't like that feeling. It's usually something dramatic and out of my control.

Meds
straighten family room
empty dw
start laundry

Hope: move all the things out of the 3 season room so that I can surface wash the floor before taping the bottom trim.
use a razor to get of the stuck blue tape.

call bank

plumber

I get a warning that I had too much "dirt" in my compost bin - I had to laugh because when it was scraggly grass when I put it into the bin and it went to dirt/grass over the week - I got a big orange sticker on my bin. dh laughed - he said okay what do we do with it lol. (it's okay it's all gone already.) They also wouldn't take the broken baby pool.

Twins - Welcome home! I hope you feel better soon. I'm interested in what the c19 test shows.

My garden time has been OBE lately. I am determined to stake a boundary around that activity and make sure it happens. The time I spend in the garden has BIG benefits in my physical, emotional, and mental health. The more hectic my life is the importance of making time to spend in the garden increases. Time in the garden recenters me in a way that I can't explain in words.

I've taken DS13 to get drinks and then to his worksite. He is on the tractor with chainsaw again today working on tearing out a yard of wooden fence and then loading/hauling it to the burn pit. He is also watering sod twice a day and watering his boss's flowers (100 or so pots).

DD10 pink eye seems to be improving....or at least it isn't getting worse. When she woke up this morning, we started every 3 hours of eye drops again. The doctor said not to worry about putting the drops in while she was sleeping.

Team cleaning is on schedule for this morning.

COVID test was negative. But I think I'd rather not entertain tonight, and I should give them the chance to bow out.

Texted with our "other" ds Z who is getting married in RI - he was texting re seating arrangements and I gave him a heads up that dd is on the outs with P and D, our overbearing "Friends" who dote on her to excess. They have no sense of boundaries and dd has stopped communicating with them. As for me, P spoiled the surprise of dd coming in for my birthday in Dec. But they're part of the community so I see them and am pleasant, but offer very limited dd info.

First load of laundry is done in dryer. Need to make the bed and then fold. Finishing up breakfast.

Texted about rescheduling dinner with friends. I do feel pretty lousy. Today needs to be a regroup and get well day.

We are leaving in two weeks from yesterday for Z's wedding. I need to get well and stay well.

Kitchen table is cleaned up. I'm not looking at the overstuffed beach bag beside it right now. Eyes closed.

Good morning!

Gloomy day here. It’s supposed to get hot, and it’s already humid. Oh joy.

Today needs to be a desk day for me — get some payroll done, so some reading on this month’s book club book (which I am sorry I voted for). It’s called Shakespeare for Squirrels. It is rather crude and is decidedly lacking in squirrels, and I apparently need more familiarity with A Midsummer Night’s Dream than I have to be able to appreciate it. If I can squeeze any time in, I should also work on a grocery list. Also, I should go visit my Mom. I did go on Monday, but that was her birthday, and she was mostly asleep — I should give her a regular visit. Oh! And I have to figure out what I’m taking to girls’ night tomorrow.

Well, looks like I’ve got my work cut out for me! Have a good day, everyone!

"How many more people are we going to need to hire?"

We have a cleaning lady. Now we also have a "outside helper" to use the weed wacker and whatever else dh needs help with outside.

He also has someone helping him build the "shelter" behind the garage. We see these all over Ontario, so they most likely have them in the States... canvas (?) covered thing for an extra vehicle usually seen at the far end of a driveway. We got one on sale for almost $300 less than the regular price, so dh said we needed one to cover the lawn tractor/snow blower, the log splitter and the ATV.
