Rainy Monday PWYC
It's raining here, but it's wonderful to be home and have a full week ahead of us! The rain is much needed (witness the brown lawn) and the week is full of promise!

Good Morning!
The drive to school for the LAST Monday of 5th grade has been accomplished.
DS13 is working on his homeschool assignments. I have reduced his workload but will continue with a daily Math assignment through most of the summer. He is about 1/2 year behind in Math and I am hopeful to get him caught up and ready for 9th grade. Alegebra.
Who remembers your Algebra class and uses it regularly?
DMIL has a follow up chiropractor appointment for sciatic nerve treatment this afternoon. DH will take her to the city for that which also includes going out to eat.
It is raining here too. Although it won't result in enough moisture so daily watering will need to continue.

I don't use my algebra. I wish I knew it better though. what a great idea for giving him math work during the summer.

I have to get seeds planted before the rains come. We had saturated soil for way too long. soon it will be so dry so I might as well get those seeds planted while the going is good. We are supposed to have rain the next 3 to 4 days.

For me: It's the expectations of myself that I tend to set too high to get done in one day. I have to remember that the teeny tiny steps have gotten me to finish many a big project, without stopping. The job still gets done.
I do wish there was an alarm that would go off when I go off track: Beep, beep, beep - don't over goal, "Hey you" keep it simple, "where are you going" stay at the job you are doing
I have a good eye for seeing how many hours something will take but forget that my body can not do all the hours in one day!
The things that are driving me crazy -
1. the boxes that have not been put away -goal: empty one box a day but not on Sunday.
2. basement - all of the cloths and things of dd Younger -and some of dd older stuff - take a handful a day and wash and put away
3. stuff at the top of the stairs - toss and put away One bag at a time.
4. furniture from 3 season room that is in the family room - A. wash trim on floor and let dry B. tape the trim on bottom C put newspaper down. D. paint one coat of paint E. paint second coat of paint. Hoping two coats will work as I had to do three coats on the window trim F. let dry G. make sure windows are clean H. put clean furniture back I. buy and install curtain rods J. install curtains K. put small amount of decorations back.
5. Hang up art work again (need new hangers).

Good morning ladies! It is a sunny day for me here. Up on time slept through the nite yea!
I have to do some catching up after painting and shopping adventures last week.
Sheets are in the wash. Kitchen sinks are cleaned I did a counter spiff.
Planning done.
The boards on a shelf are back in place. I switch the sheets over. Done!
I am doing stretching as I go through my day, at the kitchen counters, on the stairs before I start up them.
Blood sugar was a good number this morning. My plan half of the roll I made this weekend!
I froze up one batch.
Store run needed for some thing to cook in my new pot what a great motivator!
I have put my bu jo plan and tweaks in new journey thread if any one is interested.

LadyM… the only person I know who used Algebra through his entire life is Sweetie; geometry too. But of course he’s an engineer, although my brother who is a building contractor uses math like that too. Perhaps Harmony’s husband does it as well. I only use fractions in cooking, but I sure did need it when I was hanging our pictures.
My back is covered with bandaids and it sure does itch, but I can’t let material touch it.
I had a migraine yesterday so it slowed down my progress in my office. Still had it this morning so I had to take one of my big pills. Watching Perry while it does it’s magic, I hope, then I want to finish my office.
Harmony… I use my phone to post here. That why I sometimes have weird words show up. I hold my phone horizontally to type because it’s easier.
Hot day here…somewhere in the mid-90’s, but not as hot as AZ.

I've placed a sams pickup order for this afternoon. DH has agreed to get it while he is in the city with his DMom. Most of my orders are pantry items that are on sale. Sparkling water is a particularly challenging item to keep stocked in our pantry.
I have ordered DD10 birthday gift and cake mix. She wants to make her own birthday cake (red velvet) with no icing. I'm encouraging her to think of a way to make it decorative. Only six more days of her being a 10-year-old!

LadyM, I use algebra a lot, and I imagine you do, too. It just doesn’t always look like algebra. But if you’ve got a garden to mulch, and you’ve got a couple of brands to choose from, and the bags are different sizes and/or prices or cover different areas, you’ve got an algebra problem on your hands. Fencing that garden, if it’s an irregular shape — algebra. Figuring a tip (or figuring what you can afford to get and leave a decent tip). Granted, finding roots of quadratic equations isn’t needed all that often by folks who don’t work in the sciences (or, probably, some folks who work in financial positions), but a lot of the other stuff sneaks under the radar as just plain math. A lot of algebra is just good old story problems without the stories.
blessed, I hear you about the planting. It was pouring rain for our girls’ night on Saturday, and a couple of the ladies were planning on spending Sunday afternoon planting. (Memorial Day is usually the safe date around here, but with hardier plants or less timid gardeners, Mother’s Day will do.)
Twins, it sounds like a busy day for you today! I see you didn’t have to add getting your daughter to the airport on top of that.
Nancy, glad you got a good night’s sleep. It sounds like it let you hit the ground running!

It’s a sunny (well, partly cloudy) day here, but chilly. The high is barely expected to break 60, and it’s expected to get down into the 40s tonight. I presume DD took the fan out of her window last night. (Putting the fan in the window was one of the first things she did upon coming back home; it was hard giving up the air conditioning in the apartment.)
I have to run DD up to the Dr’s for a tetanus shot. I wish I weren’t so nervous, so she could drive there. I’ve told DH that for the next while, I will make dinner if he takes that time to go out driving with the kids. It would be nice if DC got their license, but depending on where DD gets a job, it may be imperative that she get hers.
Well, I should either take DD for that shot or get to work.
