Happy Sunday - Regroup or Energizing up? pwyc

Post by blessedw2 »

hello! are you taking a bit of a respite today? Are you giving yourself a full veg-out? Are you needing to regroup for the rest of the week?

Are you in a different place? Are you planning to energize up for the rest of the week?

Do Tell!

I literally slept the whole afternoon to this morning around 4:30
I think all the work I did on Friday and previously finally hit me. I also had a headache - not bad but I knew that if I kept working that it would be a whopper of a belly headache instead of a mild inconvenience.

I watched a bit of the RHS Chelsea show on britbox - lovely! It's nice to see it back.
so many ideas!

I have the young man coming this morning to help me moving heavier things that just are too much for me with my ankle - I tried yesterday but it was a bit much for me. He has been a blessing for my garden and for me.

Wishing you a wonderful day!

get curtain rods for the white cafe type curtains for back room,
iron curtains and hang up as I go.

buy sand for walk way to lift flagstone as it sunk
buy pea gravel again for the remainder of dry river
buy American heritage stone for the dry river or try the Mexican stone and see what you like better
order water proof rugs for laundry room dog -room for drying off.
set up watering for dh to do or ask the young man to come to water as it is hard for dh while I am gone
Monday: fertilize outside plants

give dh money aside for taxes in September
Continue on putting away boxes
start basement so that the rug cleaners can come in the next few weeks

Good Morning!

Blessed - BWTG on having a plan! I get overwhelmed by just reading it but I'm sure you can do it. You have made remarkable changes in your home lately!

I have the oven shelves full of cobbler and vegetables. I made a different type of cobbler this time which has me holding my breathe that it will turn out okay. Due to time constraints, I used a quick cobbler recipe and doubled it. I used to make something like this many years ago, but I've lost the recipe. I am hoping this is similar.

Good morning!

Glad you got some much needed rest, blessed! Sounds like you’ll need it! You should have good weather for gardening — we’ve got a gorgeous day here, and tomorrow is only supposed to be better, and you generally get our weather the day before we do.

I’m sure your cobbler will be yummy, LadyM!

Congratulations to Twins’ DS on the new digs — and the milestone!

Very glad we went to church last evening. I had forgotten that friends were having a game night. So after church, DH threw together dinner, while I threw together a fruit salad to take along. We ate and left for the party and didn’t end up leaving there till after midnight. I would not have been able to drag myself out of bed in time to get to church by 8:30.

I can’t remember if DH needs to leave at 11:30 or be there at 11:30. He has to get there early because he helps with tie duty. All the graduates get a tie — they long ago gave up caps and gowns for graduation and have the guys wear khakis and blue blazers — essentially their dress uniform — and they are all given a tie. As DH points out, it’s much more likely to be used than a tassel. :) Since he’s become staff, he seldom stays to the end of graduation, but this year, he’s planning to. One of the seniors started the model railroad club that DH advises — and this young man is receiving the school’s highest award at graduation.

As for me, my only big plans for the day are that I’m going to visit my DM. I might do some payroll work — I do want to have this document ready for the expert when he gets back on Tuesday, and I know I won’t get anything done tomorrow. There’s not much to do — just highlight and list vocabulary terms. It’s going to be tedious, though.

bw2, you are doing so many wonderful things for your home! I'm trying to get outside to get those poor geraniums into pots - I keep talking about it but have I done it?

I was a slug yesterday. I did a very little genealogy work, didn't do anything to the house and napped in the afternoon. We enjoyed the baseball game last night. Perfect night for it, dh drove the convertible and it was fun. We parked at his office - quite a way to the ball park and uphill going back to the car, but I made it. Then I stayed up too late.

I'm trying to figure out why I wait around to get these plants out. It's never as big a job as I think once it's done. Today I'd like a little genealogy time, a little house time, a little garden time. I suspect I need to go to Lowes for more potting soil. Whoops.

We're excited for ds. Thank you for the congrats!

So glad to see Mystery and LadyM this morning!

LM my mom used to make cobbler the crust was like a sweet pancake like batter she poured over sweetened fruit so yummy warm topped
with cream whipped cream vanilla ice cream good memories.

I started my planning routine.
Cleaned off the outdoor kitchen area.
It has rained is breezy outside. [I had bfast of a pre cooked sausage I cooked last night and deviled egg.]
I am re thinking the bbq at the church it feels cold out for that.
Rain in a bit here. 59* is our hi temp.

Morning y'all...

LadyM, I've made this recipe many times and it always turns out well.

Twins, Happy for your DS. I remember when my son bought his first home. Its an exciting time for your son.

Ok Blessed, I'm right behind you with a multitude of things that need to be done around my home, so Ill work with you this week :D

Yesterday I did work on my office, but need to wait until my cabinet arrives today to finish it, However I did work on my other guest closet and spent time organizing it and making things more accessible. So that's now checked off my list. Next is to work on my laundry room. Right now its a catch all for items that don't have a home. Most of it are pictures that need to be hung or stored.

Yesterday while I was out in the lanai I happened to look up at my ceiling fans...Ugh and completely disgusting!!! Need to add that to my weekly list. I am also going to clean my grill as well.

There are whispers that the Mexican hurricane in the Pacific may cross Mexico, enter the Gulf and then decide where it might want to go. I am pretty prepared for it, but will keep an eye on it. This home like many of the Florida homes have metal shutters that can be installed around the house. Course I've never had to do ours, so there is a learning curve in all of this. Having lived in Mobile and New Orleans I've ridden through many a storm so I know what I need to do to be prepared. Know Harmony is keeping an eye on it as well.

Also on my week list:
* a trip to Sams
* trip to the bank so I can get into my safety deposit box. I usually keep a fairly large amount of cash in the house, but between all the moving I stashed it there. Cash is the one thing you never want to be without after a hurricane the electricity goes out. Gas pumps and store case registers all run on electriciity so it makes things pretty hard to deal with once it goes out.
* HD for more mulch
* Wally world... thankfully it is close to the bank

And in the for what its worth department...We had an A/C company come to do our really check up because this system is new to us and didn't want to be caught off guard if it quit. While here the fellow told us about an ultra ray system that kills the mold that grows in our air vents. While talking to us, that kick in a memory of the mold that grew in my school...I tested it. Back then I believed it contributed to my migraines.

Anyway the guy told us he had installed the lights in his own home because his young twins are severely asthmatic and the lights have been a huge success in controlling their asthma that they do not need their inhalers while in his house. Bless Sweeties heart he decided we need to install the lights to see if they would help my migraines.

Its been 5 days and I haven even had a twinge of a migraine, and if you remember I was getting them most every day since we moved here. I am a believer! No sinus problems as well. Who knew!

Ramblin' at some point that may no longer be in the for-what-it's-worth dept. and if not, I will applaud with you.

I have had to postpone my watching of the online service but I will get to it as soon as it is posted. Just overcome by sleepiness after getting up too early, I suppose, and I realized I was not up to really taking it in. Another hint was that I fell asleep.

Early I got in an extra laundry load of HRH's khakis. I usually don't do laundry on Sundays, at least not early, but I was up at an unexpected hour I guess.

Will order some supplements for us today.

Have a couple microwaves to decide between. HRH wanted a combo microwave, air fryer and convection but it's just too much for our space. If I could somehow squeeze anything else in besides this small size microwave I'm replacing, it would be the instant pot, which is having to stay in the cabinet.

Loaned dd42 my nutribullet recipe book, hardbound, to enjoy for a while, and she also photographed some smoothie recipes from my fancy recipe book for bowls/smoothies. Dd23 has taken my Straight Up Food recipe book, for now.
