There is a fire in a pasture less than 1/2 mile from our home. The wind is strong (30+mph) and blowing directly from fire toward us. The smoke hurts my eyes and throat. There are many volunteer firemen and trucks fighting the fire and I am confident they will do their best to control it. The police have temporarily stopped the traffic on the interstate because the smoke is dense, and they don't want people driving through the smoke. The news helicopter is flying overhead. After the excitement of this morning this seems like a small thing. There is nothing I can do to help so I am in observer status.

The fire is under control and the smoke is reduced. Thank you volunteer fire fighters!! The turnpike is open again. The news helicopter has left.

hello again -
before I can rest and say hello - I have to clean up the kitchen. dd older made dinner which was lovely.

blessed, newly transplanted salvia will be quick to droop until established. I planted the kind called "sage" salvia this year and it worried me at times, now looks almost bushy. I hope that's what happens with yours.

We have not been productive today.

I did get to watch my online worship service, in fact two of them.
