Re: Good Morning Wednesday PWYC
a PODA day - thank you d twins!
Good morning to you and everyone.
I felt a little silly/impy today so I thought I would share "a silly" with you. My d mom and the girls were fans of the Ole and Lena jokes -
so get ready for a good old "oh dear" or groan. (maybe a drum pa dum - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ObpcGNCU944)
Lars: "Ole, stand in front of my car and tell me if da turn signals are vorking". Ole: "Ya, No, Ya, No, Ya, No, Ya, No...."

Re: Good Morning Wednesday PWYC
Unfortunately, my own PODA is upstairs - I do have COVID. Dh is quarantining himself downstairs and ready to fetch stuff for me. I think he will work from home for now instead of possibly exposing his office, but he feels fine.
I feel like I have a cold, slightly worse than most because of the slight fever yesterday. Temp was normal this a.m., and doc is to send script for Paxlovid to the pharmacy for me.
It's all under control for now.

Good Morning!
(((Twins))) - Thanks for the start. Glad you have everything in place for your care.
Blessed - you made me smile. Ya, No, Ya, No, Ya, No.... It reminds me of the comedy of my life with a sassy teenager.
I've completed a couple daily routines before I let myself get started on nutritional studies. The tweaking is fascinating to me. What happens to my macros and micronutrition if I add a hardboiled egg to my food plan for today? What if I add sunflower seeds? Will that fill in the missing micronutrients? How much of what food will increase my choline without messing up the others?
We have a powerful thunderstorm happening with lots of loud thunder and nearby lightning strikes. I find myself counting the seconds between the flash of lightning and the sound. Supposedly each second is equal to one mile? If that is true then we have several lightning strikes happening within a mile of me.
DH's two siblings decided yesterday that it is time to call in hospice for DMIL91. However, they don't seem to understand what that means. They expect hospice to provide a nurse staying at DMIL home 24 hours a day 7 days a week and for Medicare to pay for it. It doesn't work like that. They want to turn the care of DMIL over to someone else. DH has final say-so on what happens to DMIL, but he wants to respect his siblings' input. DH is going to talk to his DMom today to get her input.
I will spend 5 hours in the city today while DD11 is in 3d class. My main focus during that time is to make sure and get my steps in. I am going to various places to do that. Today I plan to be walking at the local museum and art shows. When we get back, I will have just enough time to eat and then go out the door to church. My productive time at home is limited.
Trip down memory lane.....46 years ago today I gave birth to a 9lb 15oz baby girl then i spent what seemed like hours sitting in a bathtub of ice.

Re: Good Morning Wednesday PWYC
CI I am doing ok today for the most part.
Need to work on limbering up my back and do desk duty in a bit.
Rain so not mowing glad I did get the front mowed last evening.
Floors need mopped.
Did my stretching.
Had bfast.
Done mowing! Yea!
So glad I did that early it is already warming up!
Napped.
Did some weeding.
Put more onions around they sort of reseed themselves I just help em out a bit.
Weeded in front a bit.
No need to water looks like a storm is brewing in the west.
My vacuume it acting up might be needing to replace it.

Re: Good Morning Wednesday PWYC
Morning y’all
Hugs Twins… I had a break through Covid right after I moved into my rental. Last three days and was like a bad cold. Hugs
LadyM am happy to hear about your dd’s visit with her counselor.
I am deal with similar issues like Lady’s dh concerning his mom. My mom is still in rehab and we, my brother and I, are fighting with the center to keep her there. I have several big phone calls to make today, but woke with a killer migraine. Once it’s under control… I’m almost there… then I must hit my computer, gain some additional info and make calls.
Sending my mom home with a live in will cost 8K excluding food and such. I’ve been after the center for several weeks to answer questions but they haven’t communicated with me much nor answered my questions. My brother is at the center most every day as well. Yesterday the center calls and said they are going to release my mom in nine days.
Medicare will pay for my mom for 100 days… we are only at day 60. We believe they are making my mom leave so forcing us to admit my mom to sign up for long term care at 11k a month. Plus United Health will kick in to help while my mom recovers. She can’t get herself out of bed into a wheelchair without help and can only walk 50 steps with her walker.
Anyway we need more info to determine what we need to do. My brother is taking his son, my nephew, with him at my moms meeting today. Smart move on my brothers part because he has a very large voice and tends to use it, while my nephew is forceful but knows how to remain calm.
Off for more coffee… this migraine was far different… meaning the pain was in both eyes and my brow and came on like a freight train in a matter of seconds… one minute I was fine and the next I was slammed with so much pain I could hardly get to my meds… thankfully it is retreating now. My next cup of coffee should get me over the edge

Re: Good Morning Wednesday PWYC
I've decided to stay at the school until this storm passes. They have several dining rooms that guests can use. The storm is downpouring causing some travel challenges. Vehicles are hydroplaning off the interstate and landing in ditches. On the drive here I saw several vehicles that will need tow trucks to get them out. Needless to say, I dropped my speed.
This morning there was an armed police officer at the front desk of this school. This is the first time I've seen any security at this school. All the exterior doors are not locked, and anyone can enter. I find it strange that our little rural school has more security than the city school. I wish it weren't something that I noticed or needed to be concerned about.
I am greatly relieved for DD11. She started her monthly cycle today. That gives her 5 days until she leaves for camp on Sunday. These 5 days will allow her to be done with the cramps and hormone swings. She should be able to participate in camp (swimming) activities next week. She doesn't have a regular cycle yet so the best we can predict is 29 days to 36 days between cycles. .

Re: Good Morning Wednesday PWYC
I am learning a lot about finding out what my mothers benefits are and decided to make y'all aware of something you may or may not know.
My mom has AARP to supplement her medicare. I can not access her benefits because she does not have me listed on her account. Neither can my brother even though he has power of attorney over my mom. Who knew....Now I am waiting for ARRP to send a letter to my mom requesting that my brother and me can access her AARP benefits. The care center can not share that information with us either.
In the meantime my brother must send copies of his power of attorney for my mom to AARP and once they receive it plus the letter my mom has signed, then they can release her benefits to us.
So...lessons learned. I have requested that AARP send ME a letter so that I can add Sweetie to my account. Will also list my son.

I have been having trouble posting today - oh well - hopefully I can say hi
hello d you made me giggle - Yes- definitely life with a teenager d lady!

praying her cycle ends before camp!
it does sound like your dh's siblings don't understand how hospice works at home.
can your dh invite his siblings to a meeting with the hospice social worker before anything is signed. The nurse, bather, comes a few times a week for an hour. I think they will be surprised.
It has happened multiple times with both sides of my family. my d mil - thank goodness there was 5 couples and grandchildren - one nurse - with sweet mil.At first there was denial, all of my grandparents, my uncle. My brother understood with my uncle.
twins did I see you fell - I am so sorry!!!Also getting sick on top of it - is not allowed. Please tell your body that I said it wasn't allowed. Feel better!!!
