I used my credit card 3 times today and didn't have any problems. The FB friends that were posting are ones that I have known for decades, and I consider to be trustworthy. Apparently, there were widespread problems, but they were not affecting everything. Maybe it was just one type of card (Mastercard, visa, etc?) Alls well that ends well....

We made a quick trip to the city to purchase a few more clothes (bras & shirts). DD11 is now 95% packed and ready to leave for camp tomorrow. I am washing her bed quilt now and will dry it. I think everything else will need to be packed after she does her personal care in the morning. Oh..spending money. hum... How many snacks do they need to buy each day at the canteen? $5? $10? $20 a day? Pick a number and go with it. I have learned no matter how much I give them, they will spend it. It is not like they need to buy snacks because they are hungry. DS13 raved how good the cooks are at camp and all the home cooked meals and desserts at each meal.

It was sunny & 103 today. The kids put ice in the water bowls of the outside furkids.

I managed to catch up on macro nutrition class homework. Although, I still have the weekly zoom recording to watch.

It's been a watering evening for me. (and still is on the by-drip areas) We won't have rain until late afternoon Tuesday so I'm trying to stay ahead of that.

A ta-da today was scrubbing the bathtub but I'm not satisfied, really. It's an okay job. At the other house I had a routine that doesn't work as well here. Thinking.

Kitchen has been spiffed.

The masks came and, on the whole, are very good. One even has ear loops that match the color of the mask. I can smell the cloth shop on them, though. (Sizing odor, I'm sure.) So I'm thinking that after the watering is done I might put them through a wash and hang overnight.

When I make masks, I use prewashed fabric, but that's not promised, of course, from those who sell. I think it does make later care easier in case of shrinkage, but that's not too likely anyway.

Home again, home again...
We are probably NOT the ones Harriet is talking about, who are "being smart as they deal with Covid," and dh is NOT feeling very well right now.
OTOH, he got sick at his stomach less than 3 hours after dgs arrived in our house, so I really do not think he caught this from dgs, who still has absolutely no symptoms whatsoever and is going strong here at 11:40 pm, having a pretend football game up and down the hallway.

DH's symptoms are basically nausea, weakness, and (earlier today but not since about 4:00 pm -- chills.) He was also extremely thirsty.
He has also not lost his sense of smell or taste.

I had to drive the whole way, after the first 10 minutes on the road, but we did go to the show, and after adding a round of Aleve, GasX, & Zofran to the Tylenol he had taken with his morning medicines, dh felt like going inside to watch it also.
It was so good, and we enjoyed it very much, but dh started feeling nauseous again on the way home. (He had eaten nothing since breakfast but a little bit of popcorn and a Krunch bar. After the show, he was feeling hungry, so we stopped at McD's and he had a double cheeseburger and fries. Then he felt sick again.)

Anyway, he's lying down now and none of us will go to church tomorrow. DDIL had already told preacher that she would not be there for music, and dgs would not be there to read the liturgy because of dgd's Covid test -- so just to be on the safer side, I will stay home tomorrow too. (DDIL still working, and dgd still out of town with ds.)

While headed to the show, dcousin called to see if dgd wanted to keep her last year's number (5) for t-ball. No, she doesn't, I found out after putting dcousin in touch w/ds. DGD wants #99. DS said maybe because it was the biggest number possible? LOL... dgs changes his # every year/every season -- looks like dgd will also. I don't understand this, seems like most kids have a favorite number or a favorite player whose number they want -- but -- whatever. DS was assigned #10 his first year of t-ball. His t-ball coach gave her own daughter her dad's # and she gave ds her own #. From that point on, through baseball, basketball, and football (when he got to high school) ds always requested #10, and probably 90% of the time, that was the number he wore.

Also while headed to the show, I got a phone call from the husband of my dfriend who passed away a couple weeks ago. He didn't talk long, just wanted to touch base. He said he had told me he would keep in touch and he just wanted to check in with me. He is having a really rough time of it, I think, right now. They were married 66 years. Dfriend was only 15 when they married, in 1956. Since their daughter is basically out of the picture, maybe it will help him also to talk to me? He said he would call me again, and I told him we would definitely stay in touch.
I don't know where the real problem lies with their relationship -- since seeing the daughter at the funeral, and from so many conversations with her mom over the years, I know that very hurtful things have obviously been said on both sides.
It's just so sad. My ddad and I butted heads too many times to count, but I am glad we never were unable to speak to each other, and we were on very good terms when he passed away.

We have not used cards today. Since Atlanta is basically a cashless society now, we had plenty of cash left over from our trip! I will probably be using it tomorrow though... weekly Wmart trip is usually expensive. Sigh.

Just FYI, and for future reference. How much are y'all paying for gas? Generally speaking, gas in MS was $4.45... gas in AL is $4.65. We have a new gas tax (well, fairly new. They must feel they have to justify its existence because they have torn up the perfectly good highway between our house and town, and are now resurfacing it and causing major headaches for everyone on this side of town.)
