Success! I found/ordered DS13 a pair of shoes. It said only 1 in stock so I was going as fast as I could in the checkout process. It looks like I was successful in buying them before someone else did. They should arrive on Friday. Sometimes the easy things confound me, and the hard things seem easy. This was an easy thing that seemed hard. IYKWIM.

lucylee, The Doldrums is also where Milo traveled in the book The Phantom Tollbooth. I feel it somewhat, too.
brittle grass chat - yes, dd42 reports she feels it underfoot, breaking, when she takes the puppy out. We have closer trees here, for good or ill, so it's not as bad.
I enjoyed doing my planned cooking today and sure enough, have leftovers HRH says he'll want in the a.m.
Watched a Father Brown mystery with supper.
Dealt with trash and with some watering outdoors.
Mystery, I hope the day all worked out with timing, etc. I agree that picnics are sometimes fun but not easy, and in the heat can certainly be less fun, depending upon how much responsibility they are.
