WACKY WEDNESDAY

Post by DeeClutter »

Remember when......we would so often call it "WACKY WEDNESDAY". Many of us also remember Wacky Woman. That goes back a lot of years.

I'm up early. Really wanted to see how dh was. "Says" he feels better but I notice him shivering/shaking and running a low grade fever and still nauseous and vomiting just a little.

Had to break here and went down to the shop to get Dh's septic clip boards so he can try to get them ready for the septic tank guys. His boss was there and started to say, "What are you doing here?" when he realized it was me. Told him I'm calling the Dr at 9. Then his other super showed up. It's been a week for them: 1st one man quit, then their 'real' super's Mom passed away and now dh is very sick. Hopefully that's it. Did tell me to call if we need ANYTHING.

Thanks for starting us out Dee. I like Wacky Wednesday!

I hope yr dh gets some relief today. I wonder if it's COVID?

I am going to walk - probably not as far as yesterday because I'm running errands to temple cemetery and grocery later. I think we're going to eat out tonight too.

Good Morning!

((((Dee & DH)))) My thoughts and prayers are with you both today.

What good memories of Wacky Woman and Wacky Wednesdays! Thank you for putting a smile on my face!

Today is VBS Day #3. It is the longest day because it includes evening hours for parents to attend. Every single child will be on stage this evening and perform a song or skit. The children are in groups of 10 so organization & planning are key to pull this off in a timely manner. After the program we are having a luau. There has been some difference of opinion about the pig being roasted outside. (some say doing the traditional way including the pig head is gross.... others want to do it). I'm staying out of it and just being happy that I'm not the one preparing the meal. I am happy to help but I don't want to be in charge! We are planning to feed 250 people.
Stay curious. Challenge assumptions. Success loves persistence.

We did do a Covid test yesterday, Twins, and it was negative, but I'm still wondering. I will be calling the Dr's office in 10 minutes. Our 'resident Paramedic' was over a few minutes ago and agreed that the Dr needs to be called. He did tell us thought that if the Dr's office insists he needs to go to the hospital to tell them in his experience almost every patient he has taken to the hospital in the ambulance has ended up in the waiting room -no matter what hospital. Told us to go to S trong W est (which is a transient hospital) if they insist on him going. Hoping if that's the case that I can just take him as I know he will balk at the $250 charge for the ambulance. I'm betting dh will hardly know that Steve was even here. He does have 3 blankets over him and it's 75 in here.

EDITING @9:31AM: DD has just left with dh for the DR. We decided it was better for her to take him as she could help him more as needed. He didn't even offer to get out of his bed clothes and took his 'bucket' with him. He's not being seen until 10:20 but at least they'll be there in time. Won't be surprised if they put him in a room right away to keep him away from our patients. Need to call dS-R. Dh dialed him by mistake earlier.

Morning…

Dee… thinking of you and your dh. Hope he begins to feel better soon.

I have a sinus headache this morning so I am not going to the gym. I have a shelving unit that fits around my commode that I need to assemble. Also need to finish some of my morning routines. I have a few footprints to pick up. Also need to make a phone call to the care center where my mom is to get an update on her.

My bed is still unmade and it may stay that way today … don’t think I’ve done that in years.

Weather was nice enough so we could walk last night. Summer storm came earlier than usual. Was going to walk outside this morning but that ain’t gonna happen now.

LadyM… when I was a kid, I loved going to Vacation Bible School because it was usually held in churches I never attended. My best memory is learning how to sing… Yes Jesus Loves Me :D

Harmony, that's great news that the prescription is making you feel more like yourself. I know when you have irritation going on and it's that constant nag of discomfort :? , you don't have an easy time with concentration or even staying content!

Yes, I did think of "deep sixing" some appliances yesterday. Also, when dd42 dropped by, the dryer made its horrible, no-good BUZZER sound for which we can find no remedy, even on internet. So she wouldn't listen to me that there was no magic button we were overlooking on the control panel and just had to go in the mud room to look for herself, where she and her youngest ds noticed a lot of housework I could be doing.

She has been pretty determined that we need "Brit Box". So yesterday that came to a head with her wanting to give it to us as a gift. HRH insisted that no, we'd pay for it if she was so certain we'd love it. So she came over to speed us through the sign-up for a year. This came up because I had a hard time finding Father Brown mysteries and mentioned it. She worries that I don't have things I want, I think, and forgets all the books I buy whenever I please, because to her, they are not entertainment if they're non-fiction, lol. As a general rule, I find nearly anything I want to watch without spending much, so this felt extravagant.

Ds came over and mowed yesterday after a lot of yardwork at his own place. He came in and I just had to be honest and tell him that he smelled! Shooo-eee. Oil, maybe diesel, grass. He laughed and said maybe he should make it a short visit because he was supposed to leave with ddil in ELEVEN MINUTES for the children's baseball teams banquet. We shooed him out the door saying go get showered before ddil refuses to ride with you!

Dee, I hope any sickness at your house is short-lived and no big deal. I don't like to hear that he's shivery. :(

blessed, yes, I do "get" a lot of what you're saying about the house. There's a lot to love and feel homey/familiar about. But we do still have trouble getting comfortable or being efficient.

What is "Brit Box", Harriet? Like a 'library'?

I'm coming here for 'sanity' sake. I can tell you it's a good thing I have my l&&ts to go by. At least I'm getting some things done. I've already done the dishes including dh's 'pan'. I had bought 3 oversized mixing bowls at $ T ree last week and finally brought in one of those for him (they're supposed to be water bowls for our 3 granddogs). Perfect. Won't be surprised if dd calls me before too long. Dh's appointment is in 15 minutes so I expect he's already in a waiting room. Did text DS-R to tell him what's going on since dh mistakenly dialed him when he picked up his phone this morning.

Guess I'll look at the 'what's next' in line to do.

happy (yesterday) anniversary to us!
Thank you for all who made this site (and keeps it going) possible! I am so grateful to you! Thank you!

d dee - thank you for starting us today! praying your dh starts feeling better! dr. time. praying.
glad the super was understanding! thank you for the wacky Wednesday and remembering wacky woman!!!

enjoy your walk d twins!

d lady,
I love the work you do with your community. I loved VBS but I have to admit that I wouldn't have the energy to do it now. Thank you for bringing me back to some really wonderful memories!!!

d rose Morning! praying your sinus headache goes away fast! glad you had a chance to walk last night. dd younger is in Naples and she said there was a lot of rain. I always find it amazing that the storms seem to pop up and then disappear daily at this time of the year.

d harriet - I had to smile bc the younger generation is so used to technology that they can't seem to understand "why" there wouldn't be a technological answer to problems. dd's assume that I may not understand the electrical component of equipment or any technology and get surprised when they can't figure it out either.

dd older tends to think about what I need - she thinks I should Roomba but it is so dog gone expensive. (I could use it but vacuuming really isn't a lengthy process not that I have the floors done). We keep having discussions on "what I should be doing" - not mean - but she see's things in her own way re: efficient work vs. my working a small steps. 8-)

I do have brit box - I love it but the problem I am finding is that once you watch it then it that it just sits. I am considering letting it go but I love the garden channels. - I cancelled acorn (Murdoch) and won't do that again - same with inside out British garden - (brit box has that)

d harmony - so good to hear the meds are helping you!
it is always a joy to be here with you!

I am hoping to:

Make phone calls and appointments
bills

work outside before the heat comes through- I really want to do so many things but know that if my brain says - stay in one spot- then it's better to finish the job. it will make me feel better.

1. water pots
2. move 50 bricks off driveway for sealing people (Friday morning appointment)
3. weed
4. water anything that needs watering

tomorrows hope: errands.
it is always a joy to be here with you!
