Re: Thursday's Thoughts PWYC
Harmony…. I wondered if the storms were hitting you. Sometimes it’s difficult to tell with my radar app.
Blessed… I almost dread the day after a migraine. It’s like my brain won’t work and I can get snarly. When I taught I would write on my board early in the morning…Beware I Bite Today… to warn my kids because being snarly is so unlike me.
My kids were always good to me when I did that, taking their assignments, being quiet and helping each other. However they knew I didn’t take their kindness towards me lightly and knew I would have or do something special to thank them the next day.
My other teachers were always amazed when this happened as it wasn’t always their experience when they weren’t feeling well and their students wouldn’t make it easy for them. But, I had a saying in my classes that I said quite often… you get what you give … and I found it to be quite true.

Re: Thursday's Thoughts PWYC
isn't that the truth!!! -
I have done this with my family for years - They rarely see me feeling crabby - snarly is the "perfect" word for it!!! (I will use that from now on). It envelopes the whole body - I literally feel it! I tell my family as soon as I feel it- They laugh but they do keep a wide berth
I will tell them I feel ornery - like Yosemite Sam character from a long time ago.
When I was younger I thought I was just being cranky and now I appreciate those days - I find it relieving to just tell everyone - watch out and just let it go through my body. fighting it just made me cranky. Thank goodness it doesn't last long.
------------------------
I have been having a lot of trouble with my flower bed this year - I never had problems like this before. we had tons of rain until about the 10th of June - the area was completely saturated and I lost a lot of flowers. (this part of the neighborhood was once a marsh). Now it is so hard - like rock and I can''t even take out the weeds and I have lost more than half of my plants. I spoke to the garden center and they said the ground is still probably soaked underneath and they suggest letting it go this year.
their suggestions:
drain tile along the back as that area gets hit every spring.
dig up all the plants
raise this flower bed it's 6 ft wide by 35 long. I have flowers in other areas. Like a raised bed garden.
fill it with compost now and in the fall - leaf mulch
right now I have 15 bags of really really stinky mushroom compost in the back of my suv - I have the back hatch open so that I can empty the bags on the grass.
-------------------------------
first things first - lunch.
straight house for cleaning angels.
move bricks onto grass.
d rose you made me really laugh re: the note on the board!you get what you give

RR, I know what you mean about being snarly. Dh came home to write a check for our kitchen down payment and I was snarly to get him moving back to the office. I kept eating as long as I was downstairs, and wanted to get back to work.

Wow. Notice from the temple of another death - a lifetime member. I think the couple already have plots, but someone may need to go to mark for the grave diggers. Funeral isn't until the 12th - oh, but notice doesn't mention interment. I'm going to get a text from dd in the next few minutes to find out what happened, but I don't know.

Re: Thursday's Thoughts PWYC
Telling you all how much your thoughts and prayers mean to me (to us when I tell dh). I still haven't seen him since he left here with DD yesterday morning about 9:15 or so. They are still keeping him in ER since they can keep him hooked up to monitors there. DD and I took a (long) drive in and she took in his K indle/charger, an extension cord and charger for his Iphone. She gave them to the security guard in ER and he told her to "Wait right there and I'll run them back to him". Fortunately we had the room #. Did talk to him briefly on dd's phone this morning (for some reason whenever he's tried to call me it shows up "RTT" which we think is "real time text" and I can't answer my phone.) He knows he's not getting out today, possibly (big possibly) tomorrow or more likely Saturday. The Dr from cardiologist was there to see him this morning. They have to have the Afib under control before he can come home. I'm sure he's lonely and alone -no different when there were no visitors anywhere for Covid spell.
DCampmanager just texted me and I have packages at the store/office. BBL

Re: Thursday's Thoughts PWYC
Home from another successful VBS day. Today toddler craft was decorating visors to wear, coloring wooden pictures (and themselves). We had a bubble machine outside to provide an abundance of bubbles for them to chase. The snack was blue jello with whip cream and goldfish crackers. Indoor play time included a tunnel to crawl through, many beach balls to toss and kick, and a plastic swim pool filled with stuffed fish for them to jump in and play with.
When I arrived home, I needed an hour of quiet and calm time to just sit & be. Now that I'm well hydrated, I can feel my energy level returning. I am ready to get started on the rest of my day.
Excuses make today easy, but tomorrow harder. Discipline makes today hard, but tomorrow easier.

Re: Thursday's Thoughts PWYC
Had to go pick up dh's pay check (which is SUPPOSED to be Direct Deposit).
In the meantime -when our DShelley passed 13 years ago we kept finding dimes everywhere in odd and strange places. So ever since then we've given all our dimes to children's charities of some sort. Well, yesterday/last night I guess, I prayed if everything would be alright, please let me find a dime. AS I started to pull out from the store (in my golf cart) I saw something gleaming -and there it was, another dime. We used to give them to "Ms Carol" who was head of go cart racing where ds-A and DGS22 used to race -all over -like Charlotte, in Jacksonville FL and she would give that money to an orphanage in Kenya that they sponsored. Well we've lost touch at this point and now give it to the FL Baptist Children's Home in Lakeland. Don't even miss them of course.

Re: Thursday's Thoughts PWYC
Thinking of the family and friends and your temple family. Many thoughts and prayers. So sorry for the loss d twins.
d dee I know how hard it is for your dh to have to stay in the ER department. I am sorry you couldn't see him but glad you were able to talk to him. I am thinking of him!
how nice it was to have a sewing day d Nancy!!!
welcome home d lady!!!I am so happy they kids had another successful day of VBS.
one cat won't let me type
I am still waiting on the cleaning angels.
dh did the dishes! (again!!!) who is this man!
I have to do the cat litter to do again. geesh. I may have to mark down when I have to change it.
having a lime, kale, apple drink
(nice and refreshing).
put all the bricks onto the grass, (and the palette), onto the grass. I would love to carry it in the back but it's too hot. I have to call the non emergency number to tell the police that our cars will be on the streets for the fresh layer of sealer on the driveway.
emptied the really smelly mushroom compost bags onto the grass - my suv is sitting open!!!
I want to work outside but it is hotter than previous days. thinking of doing some errands but dh already had a hard time with younger dog - she howled after I left - I am not worried about the dog but more worried about dh.
