SATISFYING SATURDAY

May your day be totally "SATISFYING". I'm hoping for not only 'satisfying' but 'serene' as well. Pretty sure it'll be a 'social' Saturday for here. Fourth of July celebrations will abound here. Know yesterday was definitely more social than dh needed. Between it being his birthday and returning home from the hospital he was inundated with people. Our family all ended up here to celebrate both with him. He was way more than ready for bed!

I made a trip back to the pharmacy last evening to pick up his Xarelto. OUCH! Looked it up for home delivery this morning (90-day supply) -that's $412+! It is what it is I guess. Hoping his cardiologist will put him on something that's cheaper. As I remember he was on the Xarelto for a short time after his aortic valve replacement in 2013. The the Dr switched him to Plavix. Took him off that about 4 or 5 years ago. I, however, am still on Plavix at $0/copay. Since we have the same insurance I'm hoping that won't be any more for him, though it could be since he's in the "coverage gap" and meds are more for the rest of the year.

DS-R was just here looking for a rolling pin which I did happen to have in our 'spare dish cupboard'.

Dh has gone down to the shop to get a couple of papers -just a short one so he says. Know he doesn't feel up to doing much. He did finally tell his DB this morning that he's been in the hospital the past few days. Think we convinced him last night that he really needed to let him know.

Time to get dressed, eat and make a grocery run.

I just looked up the cost of Plavix (Clopidigel -generic) on dh's insurance. $10.59 for a 90-day supply. I can only hope that his cardiologist changes it for him. I don't think there's a generic for the Xarelto which is probably why the Dr changed it to the Clopidigel a few years ago.

Think I got slightly distracted yesterday and completely forgot to post the July Joys & Concerns. It's up now.

Lady M, not sure you saw my question from yesterday so am quoting it here if you happen by:

Lady M, what is the drink your DS13 drinks on hot days? Want to pick some up for dh for when he comes home. I've thought about G atorade, but I know you buy something different for DS -Pediolyte something?

I'm going shopping in an hour or so and want to pick up some for dh.

Electrolyte drinks for working in the heat = Propel drinks are preferred by both DS13 and DBro.

The company that makes that medicine has a programto cut the cost down to $85 a month.

This is my slow-moving morning when I don't have to be out the door on time. It feels good to have a change.

I have tweaked the church cleaning spreadsheet again and printed it off. Now it is time to implement my cleaning plan.

Was wondering if it was Propel, Lady M. Thank you and also thank you for the other info on Xarelto. Hopefully Dr will change him to the generic for P lavix when he sees him in a couple of weeks. That's only $10.59 for 90-day supply. So much better than $412!

Today for me could be titled the good the bad & the ugly.
The good news is my knee is better, the bad is t-storms are in the forecast,
Making for uglyness in my mood disrupting my gutter cleaning plans. Poo!

But I did walk the dog earlier ir at our new summer walking time 6 - ish.
I am feeling better and wondering if I had a 24 hr. bug of some sort that might explain part of it.
I did sleep well.bs is up.
I am cooling off the house by airing out the stuffiness.

I'm glad Mr. DeeClutter had the happy birthday experience of putting a hospital in the rear-view mirror.

Here, Desk Day seems to take up extra days lately. Even this a.m. I have had to put in mail to go, plus make yet another phone call. It always seems a matter of "no, that's not right" and "no, that needs to be straightened out". Sigh. Mostly a matter of giving up and going through channels without human contact, one way or another.

Also dealt with trash, further worked in kitchen, which seems to be so much more unforgiving in small space without dishwasher. How many times have I complained about this? Time to research the apt-sized dishwashers, maybe. Last time I looked they were expensive.

Took the watering can out and gave some relief to the container plants. Had purposely watered some weeds in the beds last night so had easy pulling by root this morning.

In the Outdoor thread last night I made a "brain dump" (Twins' phrase, I believe) about this year's gardening projects so far. Hoping to remember the good ideas, the bad ideas and anything that may be ... .. um ... .. attractively challenged. (Smiling at Nancy's good, bad and ugly day.) Mostly good ideas are showing their colors out there.

I go out the front door onto the porch in my housedress (possibly apron) to disturb the butterflies ツ ツ ツ with the watering can, and think perhaps it's the best part of the day.
