I arrived home to find DD45 was here cleaning our bathrooms. It struck me as somewhat humorous that I was cleaning bathrooms somewhere else while someone was cleaning my bathrooms.

I am making progress on the church cleaning. I do gain confidence by having what needs to be done clearly defined and prioritized, so I don't need to wonder if everything is being cleaned. I just follow my plan and do the next thing. The musicians for both services were there practicing while I was cleaning so I got to enjoy their sounds. However, them being there did limit what sounds I could make and where. I didn't want to run the vacuum near their area. I will return after my break and finish.

DH is with his DMom. Today is her haircut, shampoo, and styling day. After she is finished there, DH will take her out to eat.

I'm back from grocery - perishables put away and I ate my brunch because I was getting hangry. I need to get through the rest of a.m. routine next...

Quiet day here… did a small grocery run for items I couldn’t find at Wally World yesterday. Just sitting back, enjoying my time and reading my book. Oh happy days

today I have decided to work a 10 minute round robin in the garden.
if I can - finish the weeding in one veg garden and get the fall garden started.

today's goal: finish little things - don't overthink ,- move with the flow today, carry a notebook with to write down jobs that, I can see, need doing. My goal is to create a list instead of having all the "have to"s in my head. think simple and figure out what little bitty steps I can take.

a really nice father and son gardeners were at my neighbors house mulching. they helped me put a shepherds hook in one area as the ground was super hard. we haven't had rain for a good 2 week; weird after having nothing but rain for months.

thinking of watering at night from now on - after dinner - onward. I water in zones but I can see that some things are struggling. I don't water the grass of course. it is getting brown but it will survive.

put the one geranium in a pot into the back flower pot by bench.
rake up dead head flowers from the roses.
then start again on 10 minute zone work.

zone 4 is done -
I am doing well with put away as I work instead of waiting to the end of the afternoon.

d lady! how nice that your dd helped with the bathrooms!!! funny that you were doing that at church while she was doing your house - a nice surprise!

Yay on doing desk time, trash, watering plants, weeds are plants too - that's why my weeds are so prolific .
I can imagine the butterflies flittering around your front porch!
I have seen counter top dishwashers but I think they are about 200 + weird that something so small is so expensive. hope you find one you love and that isn't too expensive.

Good afternoon!

A belated Happy Birthday to Mr. Dee! So glad he's out of the hospital!

Dfriend K reminded me yesterday that one of the other moms in our group was having a celebration of life for her dfather, so I ended up going to that. It turned out to be really crowded. It was at a park lodge, and it started pouring, so everybody who had been outdoors ended up going in. I don't do well in crowds; never have, and since I got fat, add on the feeling that I am in the way no matter where I move. Give me a seat in an out of the way corner, and I do OK. But all the seats were taken by family members and older friends, as they rightly should have been, so I was just really uncomfortable. K offered to stay until I left because she knew how I was, and DH knew more of the people there than I did, so she could get me out of there as needed. It turns out that, as DH put it, the deceased had apparently outlived most of their mutual friends, so DH did not end up getting involved in a lot of conversation and was willing to take me home early. I still feel horrible about leaving early, but I was in a bad state. K and her husband invited us over for a game afterwards, and DH said he could just feel the tension lift off me as we played.

DH is painting today, putting a primer on in the kitchen. This limits my ability to get back and forth to the basement; our kitchen isn't even a galley kitchen -- everything's on one side, and it wraps around the stairs so it's roughly the shape of a telephone handset, so getting through where he's working to the basement stairs is nigh impossible.

I still need to make the shopping list I talked about yesterday. And I should spend some time outdoors -- we're having a gorgeous day here!

I'm getting stuff together for my cousins and dkids coming in a couple of hours. And my dkids turn thirty today!

Dh finally got home from his day out. I was getting impatient. He's done everything on his "Honey do" list except cleaning the grill, which he says he'll do when he starts getting ready to cook. I still need to cut up some veggies (healthy alternative for dipping!), do a platter with fixin's for burgers and put together the tray of cheese crackers snacks et al for grazing. I've done a big bowl of fruit (side and with dessert, with whipped cream ) and a layered Mediterranean dip with hummus, cukes, tomatos, feta cheese, olives and cilantro. I left off the pine nuts 'cause ds is allergic to tree nuts. He would probably be okay but I hate for him to think I'm poisoning him.

Happy Birthing Day to Twins and Happy Birthday wishes to her DS & DD.

Cleaning the church in such a short time frame was a challenge. Cleaning the church after regular services, plus 5 days of VBS, plus Luau with abundance of visitors was almost more than I could do. Every surface needed extra attention and took longer. There is a tiny gleam of satisfaction that I was strong enough to have accomplished it. However, my body is feeling the physical effort, so it maxed my capabilities. I am going to sit with my feet up and hydrate until my energy level returns.

Went to DS-R and DDIL's for a while this afternoon around 4 for dinner -smoked turkey and ribs along with other items. Stuffed. Came back home for a few hours so dh could rest a little. He's gone now to take a shower. We'll head back over there before too long for the big fireworks show.

Dh would like people to think he's doing ok, but believe me -he's not. You can tell just watching him how tired and weak he is. I'm anxious to see what his GP has to say when he sees him Tuesday.

Happy birthing day to Twins. When I think how many years we've been around with them growing up -well, I'm just astounded.
