Home from an impromptu trip to the city with DH. We needed rabbiit food, ate out, filled SUV up ($3.95 gallon), did list buying @Sams and picked up DMIL meds at pharmacy.
DSisIL is still ordering DMIL meds. ARgh! She doesn't get it. If she orders them then we pay. If the nurse orders the meds then hospice pays. It was only $12 but it is frustrating that DSisIL doesn't remember even though it has been explained many times. Pick your battles and we are not picking this one.....let it go....
I absolutely HATE standing in checkout lines. When I'm shopping Sams, I use Scan & go on my phone to check out as I am putting things into my cart. I have used it for years with no problems. However, the last 2 times it has an error as I tell the scan & go app to checkout. It frustrates me to no end. I found myself at the front door with a cart load of mostly cold food and the app said I had to go through the checkout line. The checkout lines were long, and I had no desire to go stand in them. I briefly considered leaving the loaded cart at the door and walking out of the store in protest. I took a couple deep breaths and made the decision to get a happy attitude and accept life has some struggles. If this is my struggle, then it is a mighty small one and doesn't deserve to ruin my day/attitude. So, I went and stood in that long check-out line. They didn't have to rescan everything but just point the register scanner at the bar code on the scan & go app on my phone. All the items I had scanned showed up on their register. They apologized over and over and said they are working on the app glitch.

LadyM, can you let the pharmacy know that dh has the POA and that scripts are filled through Hospice now? (I.e., not to fill anymore scripts ordered for dmil?)

Re: ReWardable Wednesday
d lady - can you send those gas prices to us!!!
glad you had a chance to eat out!
we have the same thing with d mom not remembering about her meds - I am sorry your d sil doesn't remember this!
How frustrating that you (and the people working there) had to go in line after thinking you could check out on your phone. I don't like shopping and standing in line.
hi d Lucy - on the road again - I am singing to you a little bit of that willie nelson song! Oh poor ddil! hope she feels better fast and that no one else gets sick along with her! enjoy your dinner out!
hi d Nancy hope you get rid of that headache fast! hope you enjoyed bible study!
oooh so pretty d twins! love the hair cut!
today while kneeling, I came across a big Garter snake - it looked at me and before I knew it; the snake slithered between my knees. I weeded it's area and now it will have to find better spots to hide.

Harmony, what about "hands free" shoes with collapsible heels that spring back, such as the Kiz ik and Ze ba brands? (I believe I have these spelled right without the spaces between.) They are not cheap, but they have wonderful reviews. Some of the ads look like it's almost instant to just walk into and out of the shoes, yet they are for activity, too. Sorry, we don't have personal experience, but that's more because we're cheap than because we don't think they're probably a smart thing. They have solid black, even black outsoles/bottoms, so in theory they would go anywhere.
Reply to blessed, on first thought : I don't care how cute his name is, he's not going to get a calm, sensible post from me. I'd be coming in here wide eyed and frantic, and ya'll wouldn't hear the end of it.
Reply to blessed, on second thought : "Garter" snake. Lol. I guess we shouldn't be surprised he took that route away, considering.

Re: ReWardable Wednesday
Mystery, you hit on a reward for me that I need to remember/consider. I keep using bath towels that are not nice enough, really. Disappointed in them, but they match the new bathroom's colors of green/gray (it's floor and wall tiles that dictate this - not just paint). I had bought new to match the old bathroom and that purchase was useless, of course. Why, oh why does that stop me from buying new NOW to please myself? I need to shop. HRH would probably assume I bought better ones for his sake and be perfectly happy. Why do I wait?
Good job just sticking it out on hold until you got a human, Mystery and DD.
I wonder if bittersweet is getting a lot of gardening done today.
Nancy, that's nice that you got to go to the study and enjoy.
blessed, I worry about this one and then that one (children). Each has "stuff" with which they struggle - some they know and some I know but cannot convince them need attention. Again, in life, if only everyone would listen to me.
LadyM, good idea on the never-fail watering.

truth!Again, in life, if only everyone would listen to me.
I remember when d mom in law used to tell me she would worry about one and then that children would be fine ---and then things went on with the other children. She also said that once everyone married and then grandchildren came along that her worry grew to fit the whole family.
--------------------------------------------------
dd younger took d mom to dentist! Thank goodness she went. Mom behaved herself beautifully once at the office. She just didn't want to get dressed. I am waiting for dd to tell me when they are home. She has another appointment in July - so I will have to have dd put a big note up the week of the appointment.
time for a shower and then pick up dd older at the airport

Re: ReWardable Wednesday
Home from keeping nursery during Wednesday service. I only had a couple of one-year olds tonight and they are super sweeties. They spent lots of time sitting in my lap while rocking and singing.
I did a home covid test on DS13 and he tested negative. Hopefully, that will ease his anxiety a bit.

Re: ReWardable Wednesday
Recorded my meals. I've gotten back to more detailed records of what I eat, which helps me as well as HRH. In another way, it help me avoid wasting leftovers! Tonight I feel virtuous for using up somewhat perishable items that might not have made it to tomorrow. That happened because I glanced at Monday's meals and thought better of my plans.
Prepared the garden beds for an obvious thunderstorm that never actually came. Oh well.
By tomorrow I hope I get an email response that a lot of Desk Day depends upon. Sigh.
