THIS is WHY we need to keep up with routines. One never knows who will be in the hospital when one awakes each day.
Yep, you're absolutely right -or as Pam & Peggy used to say CHAOS (Can't have anyone over -what was the "S" for? Not even just the hospital (oh that's not a "JUST") but maybe the President might stop by or maybe that should be anyone important and they're all important.

I think I've finally gotten my routines down so I can have anyone over or stopping by. And with dh on the mend those stopping by are frequent.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Morning...

Lucylee...Just cancel the party and reschedule it at a better time! you're only gonna stress yourself out and if anyone complains, then they are not your friend. Hope its nothing serious and your mom gets better fast.

we walked 2.5 miles yesterday and then came home and swam for a while. This is becoming our evening routine as long as its not raining. A very childhood friend posted on FB on Sunday that he was going to check himself in to Hospice on Monday. No reason given, but we, his friends noticed he hasn't been posting on FB or commenting on his friends pages like he usually does.

Last night after crawling info bed i just happened to check FB and discovered he died yesterday afternoon. It was a major shock to all of us, but our concern is also for his sister who is his twin. Then just as I was about to turn out the lights, my other good friend called and we talked about our friends death, his sister and just spent time catching up. no one knows what caused his death, but whatever it was it came quickly. He did mention the other day that he was dealing with some medical issues. Thankfully many of us saw his Sunday post and told him how much he was loved by his friends.

While drinking my coffee this morning I watch a Charlie Chan movie...no Perry today. Its always been my morning routine to get up, drink coffee and watch some sort of show before I start my routines. I've done this for many years including the times when I was working. Its my quite time before my real day starts. The shows are mindless entertainment which helps to set me up for the day.

Afterwards, I went into my office, turned on You Tube and did an hours worth of Body Combat. It something I did for years and just recently found the full workout there. Only problem is its in Japanese! Of Course I know the program so well that I really don't need to listen to the instructors...only time they spoke English is when they were singing to American songs.

Of to take a shower and then I have a few errands to run. Sweetie wants to go with me so he must be bored.

Harmony...Question for you. Do you use metal hurricane shutters or are your windows shattered proof? We are debating the pros and cons of both and I thought I would ask you.

Ya'll have a great day. Twins...I'll be thinking of you. Dont envy what you're about to go through. Just remember to add 2-3 weeks to the estimated completion date. Just ask Harmony. I added 1650 sq ft to my home once and it was exhausting. lots of luck

Break #3. CUOP, cool drink, feet up and fan blowing on me are my rewards. Everything is prep'd and packed ready to be transported.

DH is with his DMom. He is going to try to make it to the luncheon today. He has missed the last 2 because of being with his DMom.

DD11 is getting ready for today's camp. Today they are doing charcoal drawings from using pieces of campfire wood. She rated yesterday's camp as 5 (on a scale of 1 being worst and 10 being the best). She rated the people & activities as 10 because they were fun. However, the outside heat was brutal, so she gave it a rating of 0.

This heat keeps breaking records. This was posted on the national weather FB page, but it doesn't make sense to me. Record-setting dry weather over the last 30 days...of all the June 11-July 10 periods in the last 100 years, none have been drier than 2022's version. The previous record holder is the same period in 1936, smack dab in the middle of the Dust Bowl.
I keep staring at their statement and thinking huh???? If 2022 is the driest in 100 years that would mean the previous driest year was before 1922. Correct? So, if their statement about the previous record holder being in 1936, wouldn't that mean the driest in the last 86 years instead of 100 years? I am truly over thinking this.....

Next up....think of something for DS13 to eat for lunch and get it prepared.

Rose, I don’t really care. They can party without me if that’s what happens. It’s just our usual group — ds/ddil/dgrands, dbil & girlfriend, ddil’s parents and brother.
And dmom says doctor is REALLY hoping surgery is not necessary. If he is talking that way today, I doubt he’d be ready to do it tomorrow anyway.

My house always looks “neat.” Things are always put away, tidy, etc… it’s just the WHB that gets overlooked too often (and zone work, of course.)
Tomorrow is another day.

LadyM, I remember a day camp that my kids went to that was brutally hot. And they had an overnight sleepover and a campfire that evening. Parents were to come for supper, and I got sick going home that evening because I had been so overheated. I think I had been drinking some kind of gross lemonade and they had hot dogs roasted over the fire for supper.

Lucylee, I'm afraid I'm with RR - I know you mentioned that you're doing the heavy lifting on it anyway, and you've got your own concerns too.

Need to get back to work.

Puts up next gate this is the final one.

Glad that stuff fit in the can at the curb!
Gave away fertilizer spreader now I do not have to load it. [ It's too big for my yard.]

Hydrating now. On a break before doing inside stuff.
More laundry is going last load in the dryer now.

My planner cover came I love it!
Brand Moterm a nice leather one! Got a teal one it is actually forest green in my thinking but
will show less dirt than a yellow or lime green color.

Found out last nite they have a closing in person meeting of Bible study and pass out books for the next one.
I begged off and have the main book.
I will get the other workbook later. Too hot at 5:00 imo.

hi d Nancy! yay on your planner cover coming in!!! good for you for saying that you weren't able to go in for the Bible study meeting. it's good that you know what will work for you!

hi d twins! being overheated is horrible isn't it!

praying d Lucy again for your d mom!

hi d lady yay on your work. check in # 3: GREAT!!!
how fun making to use charcoal for drawing. I am so sorry it's been so hot - I hope they have sprinklers set for cool off.
praying for cooler weather with the right amount of rain to keep plants and people happy!

how nice d rose: walking and swimming! lovely!
I am so sorry about your dear friend! praying for his family and friends!

hello d dee I still use Pam & Peggy's CHAOS - s was for syndrome.

hello dear everyone!

I went out and got a cake for dd - all of our bakeries were closed today. I guess summer hours are now Wednesday to Sunday. I had to drive aways to get a cake. I also bout two balloons for dd older - I was going to use crepe paper but I am lazy.

I ordered lunch in. I know I shouldn't but I don't have groceries.

Next: bring white table cloth down and decorate. set up the plates etc. I have a small bottle of Prosecco chilling (I have peach for the bottom)
I just got home - it's already 1:46 pm. If I hadn't had to go so far for the bakery I could have done my routines already. But hey, I got a nice small beautiful cake for dd older. dd younger and d mom will be on FaceTime with us as we sing happy birthday! dd younger has a engagement to photograph this evening.

have lunch!
it is always a joy to be here with you!

Workers are here. They helped me empty one overhead cabinet and I still have some wine glasses from there to wrap and pack. Another overhead cabinet is about 1/3 emptied, and the one over the refrigerator is full, but a lot of that stuff is still packed from the last move. I need more bubble wrap at this point.

So they have the stove and microwave out and are working on the dishwasher. The refrigerator is moved into the dining room and there was enough slack connect the water, so we'll still have ice and cold water too. They're getting out the top cabinets that I've emptied now. I'd forgotten how talkative this bunch is.

I averted disaster when I spilled my water. It spilled on my laptop keyboard but I got it very quickly and turned it up to let water drain off. It seems to be okay.

They are done for the day. I should go to the Uhaul place and get some more bubble wrap. I thought I could use the newsprint type wrap for protection but it's just so thin. Not sure what we'll do for our supper. I am tired.
