one dog jumped on the counter and took my salami off my lettuce sandwich
training consistency will have to be done again.
they do come when called but I have to work on wait again - laying on their beds as well.

so far I am still in the garage on put away - dh loves to sit at his work bench at night when the heat starts to cool off (he leaves the garage doors open to let the breeze come through). Problem: I have been working outside and leaving the garage in a bit of a tip.
(this is the first room of the house to be done - dogs are soaking wet from the rain - Next room will be the laundry room weekly work.

I am overwhelmed coming back into the house - I am looking at things and the floors are making me stressed. I am wondering if I take care of the floors first, before other weekly jobs, that it will give me peace.

Nancy, we used to get those heavy 5 gallon buckets of paint. DH had a "whipper" which went on the end of his drill and he could mix it up like that in the bucket. But you probably don't have one of those. They are a steel thing just a frame about the shape of a small regular envelope on a long metal stick. That's the professional way...but what I did was use a LONG paint stirrer. Those wooden ones they give you at the paint store or Home D. The shorter ones work with the 1 gallon containers, the longer ones are for the 5 gallon ones. Maybe they would give you a couple if you asked. Otherwise any piece of wood you have around shaped similar would work.

You have to mix the whole bucket up before you pour any out. Otherwise it isn't mixed in the right proportion cause the thick stuff settles to the bottom. I wouldn't advise pouring it out first to mix. What we did was put a paint screen in there; it would sit in the bucket at an angle. Paint screens are stiff metal grills and they have hooks on the top and hook on the top of the bucket. We have rollers on long poles and we'd put them into the bucket and roll against the grill to get excess off. But if you don't have any of that I'd use an old coffee can or something and dip some out to put in a paint tray. You'd still need a can or something to carry with you to do your edges and hand painting with a brush.

Paint stores will tell you not to shake a can but roll it and use the stick to stir, making sure to get the thick stuff off the bottom. Hopefully your paint isn't old. It gets ruined from the heat, turns brown, dries out on top, so good luck! I think painting uses more energy and muscles than just about everything!

I knew that about mix first. Had to show dgd how to do that stir and keep stirring then I took a turn at it.
I will put down cardboard and drop cloths first.
Yes on the exercise that is why I like to paint.

Have one step stool so get a bit of leg action too for upper areas.

as I am overwhelmed and likely to go down the negative thinking (why can't I keep up like other women); I will break down the rooms and do the floors first and nothing else until those are done.

FLOORS: finished - felt more like this but glad it's done.

Okay I started, for now I am using the last of the biege that was left over from the basement rec room.
Painted with a brush the wall next to the door on either side and above. It is in the shade & inside.
On a break for now. I am thinking I am going to wait till morning to do any more.
I have one gallon of this color.

CI did another round of painting got the back wall by the window painted.
The side walls are left they are the biggest.
Today's lesson take shoes off clog type crocs!

Tomorrow I will be stirring and dipping paint in to ice cream buckets for side wall to be painted next.
Did that yea!

New Goal;
Focus one one gallon at a time if I get that much on great, if on oh well it is not like I have a dead line.

oh I went down the rabbit hole and watched the remainder of the Chelsea garden show 2022. I di put away but now I have to finish.

I also looked at gardening videos especially how to trim back petunias, which I have dreaded doing because it's hard to cut on plants that are pretty now. But I felt encouraged and have done some hair-cutting on a few. I'm going to see how I feel about this after a while.

Picked up a grocery order but still had to go inside anyhow, at another store, because of errors. So that took a lot of the morning.

Although we were charged only for the "3 bananas" we ordered, we received 3 bunches for a total of 12 bananas. I've tried to give them to 2 children so far, who do want some, but neither of them can come until Sunday. HRH is so concerned about this (because he believes bananas are ruined if they get a spot) that he says he's just going to have to call the other two households and say come get these. I tell him I promised the ones who can come Sunday, and he says, well, he will just buy more if he has to, to have enough to share! Amazing how grave the responsibility of fruit can be.

Shoes discomfort - dd42 reports that she has been able to redeem a pair of new, uncomfortable shoes by wearing low-profile "cushioned" socks with them for a few days during the time it took to "break them in". These are the kind you can see peeking out of shoes all around the edge, with enough substance not to slip down inside. (Personally, I like the proactive options bandaids give. But that doesn't always work.)
