Home from DS13 doctor visit. They recommended leaving the toenail alone unless it becomes inflamed or a bigger problem.

On the way back from doctor office, I stopped by DBro home and harvested his garden. I filled a WM bag with okra, squash, cucumbers, and tomatoes. I found it humorous that they are at the Garden of the Gods this morning while I was in their garden. It doesn't take much to entertain me.

I set the timer and helped DD11 move things out of her bedroom. We made progress but it seems overwhelming with all the STUFF she has collected.

DS-R is trying to get to FL to stay with dh's DB for the next week. He's having the trip from you know where! His flight to leave very early this AM from Rochester to Charlotte to Orlando was cancelled. (Amer Air) He was to be in Orlando not too long after 9 this morning, been up since 4. They switched his flight to D.C. with connecting flight(s). The next 2 were cancelled. One had him going to TX and another to Miami and not getting in to Orlando till midnight. Next they've put him on a flight on S outhwest (for which he had to pay an additional $200). That's supposed to get in to Orlando at 7pm. He had told his Uncle he would be there late this morning/early afternoon. Waiting to let him know he won't get there at all today until he's sure what flight he's taking. Says, "I WILL NEVER fly AA again!" I know there's so many issues with air travel these days.

Speaking of DBIL, dh talked with him last night. He saw oncologist yesterday and was told his esophogeal cancer is 'fast growing'. BUT, they are talking of a treatment (non-chemo) that they want to try him on. IF it works could give him much more longevity. If not, diagnosis/prognosis remains the same. So we shall see.

hello again - I went and got myself an iced coffee - it was a nice treat. wrote to dd's to give me a push as the last week I have been struggling with focus. I love when I can focus!!!! Today I will be checking in with them if my focus gets out of wack (as it did this morning).

cleaning ladies came - they didn't do the upstairs bedrooms and dh's bathroom bc no one wanted their rooms done. dd Youngers room is still filled with stuff. Thank goodness the cleaning angels were here then I don't have to focus on the work until tomorrow again.

watered my neighbors plants
watered my pots and pulled plants
I really need to get up early tomorrow and plant in the pulled hydrangea and lavender to somewhere else as they are dying - next year I will put them back where they belong.

changing my plan for today:
I will work on laundry and the basement
hopefully I will get to weeding the outside beds (if it gets cool enough).
it is always a joy to be here with you!

LadyM, we went to Garden of the Gods when we were in CO Springs a few years ago. We loved it - so interesting. Tell him there's also a great zoo in CO springs.

I finally fled upstairs because there was too much cross talk. I've been distracted by the hood discussion. Dh didn't understand, neither of us remember looking at the specific hood, but I knew it was cabinetry, not a stainless one that we were to choose.

I need to go downstairs to move over the laundry. Maybe I'll join bw2 in an iced coffee.

I'm glad my dcleaning lady is coming tomorrow, and at this point I don't much care about my office room.

Now there's a mix up on the cabinets.

Hello, hello!!! So good to hear from Kathryn in J&C this morning! Joys AND Concerns, but that's what we're here for. And as someone said, we HAVE weathered a LOT together, haven't we?

We missed the thunderstorms, Twins. I enjoy thunderstorms, too, and was kinda hoping for early morning rain on the rooftop... but nope. And when I went out around 1:00 pm to go to the post office... oh my goodness, it is hot. Excessive Heat Warning in effect till 7:00 pm. (DGD plays at 6:30. Sigh.)
Currently, it is "only" 92, but "feels like 107," according to my weather app. 64% humidity, 78 degree dew point. (I have never really understood the dew point number, but I know it adds to how comfortable or uncomfortable one feels in heat.) 20-30% chance of rain.
Saying all this to say, I know Rose & LadyM are thinking, "Lucy is such a wimp!" LOL... I know this is no worse than many of you are feeling, and NOTHING compared to what Rose and LadyM have gone through for years.
I'm wearing jeans to the game, though, because my legs need shaving and my tan is non-existent.

DDIL will not be able to go to the game; this is her 4-night week.

Anyway -- I made sure I had some ta-das before I showed up here!
* talked to ds on phone, researched some local attractions -- trying to find a day trip to take with dgrands before school starts; it's sorta become our tradition to do something at the end of summer
* went to post office & bank
* wrote check & mailed credit card payment
* s/s baths
* s/s kitchen
* talked to dmom on phone (she is doing well; PT coming this afternoon)

I have a reminder on my phone for every day at 2:00 pm: 5 min on a card task. YOU CAN DO IT! It doesn't work EVERY day to get me off my rear and moving, but it has helped somewhat, just to think about "only 5 minutes." Of course it usually leads to more, as Dee says, "Begun is half done!"

Yes, (((Dee's ds))) -- my dbro had trouble getting flights the last time he tried to come home. One thing after another, cancellations after cancellations. (((HUGS))) and prayers also for your dbil.

Blessed, focused or not, you always accomplish sooo much!!! You go, girl!

Glad LadyM's ds doesn't have to have a toenail removed. (That sounds so painful!) I hope it straightens out on its own and the problem is resolved.
WTG to dd, also. I bet she is excited about redecorating!

Sounds like you've been busy, too, Nancy! POTB for you, too!

(((Twins))) I'm sure it IS hard to focus at your house, with people all around. And distractions with decisions and mix-ups. (((HUGS)))
When ds called and I asked what he was up to, he said, "Oh, just hanging around the construction zone we live in." He had the two carpenters there today, plus ac repairman.

Waving to Cathy and anyone else/everyone else I may have missed! I'm just reviewing in Topic Review. (Although I did read through all posts earlier.) I need to go finish getting ready for ballgame. Makeup (honestly, I don't know why I bother; it probably sweats off before I get from the parking lot to the bleachers.) Also skipped my Bible reading this morning when doing morning routine. Need to do that.

Hope you all have a good evening!
Tomorrow is another day.

I went with DS13 and a friend to move the limeade stand from the church. My part of this project was to unlock the church doors and relock them. DS13 and his friend did all the heavy lifting. They put the limeade stand in the front bucket of backhoe and strapped it securely. They are delivering it to the other side of town.

DD11 bedroom update. She is still in phase 1.
Phase 1 = EMPTY BEDROOM AND CLOSET. Removing everything from her bedroom & closet (including furniture)

Phase 2 = DEEP CLEAN including paint walls & ceiling, new window treatment, floors. DD11 confessed she had slime accident underneath her bed and it dried into concrete. She thinks it will be difficult to remove. Once we can see the damage, we can make a decision how to proceed.

Phase 3 - FURNITURE decisions - Cleaned, checked/repaired, decision on whether to replace/keep or give away. There are lots of markers, paint and stickers on the desk. She draws and paints at that desk and it has the remains of her past projects.

Phase 4 = STUFF SORTING DECISIONS AND ORGANIZING - Start by selecting items she absolutely knows she wants to keep and find a place in her bedroom/closet for each item. Keep repeating this process until the mound of items doesn't contain anything she wants to keep.

Phase 5 = Give away or throw away all remaining items.

DD11 is highly motivated and determined to do her room cleanout herself. I have helped her twice and she is welcoming of that help, but immediately afterwards she assures me that she can do it herself. As the mounds of removed items grow it seems to be a daunting undertaking. I was hopeful we could make faster progress, but it takes as long as it takes.

Think DS-R flies from D.C. to Miami before heading back up to Orlando. Just hoping he doesn't get stuck there as well. Guess that's one reason I really like flying non-stop. At least if I'm going to be stuck it'll be at my 'home' airport and I can go home and try again the next day or something like that. I know I've often said that flying alone at this age I'd hate to be stuck in Baltimore -or anywhere else for that matter.
