Friday PWYC - FOCUS & FINISH

[DeeClutter]

That's what I'm doing today: "FOCUS & FINISH". Doing just one thing at a time and listing it. I've accomplished a LOT so far. Now think I'll look online to see if there's another way to contact dh's Gastro Dr. At least I'll try, Lady M.

EDITING: Well, Lady M, after unsucessfully trying to find a way to make an appointment online I finally went to "Mychart". On there I was able to 'request an appointment' with said Gastro Dr. So we'll see how that goes. At this point I know there won't be anything before next week. Question is will it do any good at this point? I'm so frustrated between that and all the medicine changes/updates. Dh is now home from working saying "My power supply ran out!"

working outside - it's starting to get hot - I will give the dogs a rest inside as their tongue o meter is panting like crazy.
they chased some garter snakes out of the pumpkin and corn bed. older dog jumped the fence to get into this area which I would never have expected. they knocked down some more corn.. grrrr

I have the sprinkler on in front for a good bit - I will move it in 16 minutes for the other part of zone 5

I am tickled bc today is the first time in a week where I am not tired.

dh - I tried really hard to be nice when he gave me a suggestion to help me (in his mind) but it irritated me a bit. Today he said in helping tone:" I find when I move I don't feel so tired and I work". this week I didn't work but the majority of time I do 95 % of the work inside and 100% outside. I know he was trying to be helpful but I was gobsmacked. he did dishes this morning - he dusted and rinsed his floor in his bedroom. He is trying so hard to be kind and helpful. So it's my issue.
He said he wanted to work in the weed area by the patio and I said I was going out there this morning and would work love to work with him. he decided no. - no he was just embarrassed on how it looked.

I was embarrassed too and made the job look bigger than it was. I will go out again and do another hour of work - I probably will do the Charles Dowding no dig method for now out in this area once the heavy weeding is done. My goal is to work on it next year.

I felt similarly on a smaller scale, blessed, when HRH helped by cleaning in the kitchen. His idea is to have beautiful clear counters. But he accomplishes this by stacking dishes high into each side of the sink. So, in order for me to really do some good, I must take them all back out and they are, of course, now messier because of stacking into each other, dirtying the backs. He also doesn't realize he makes a soup of the dirty dishes by filling with water to soak, so that they are actually much germier, in my mind, than if they had been out on the counters but each only a little soiled before washing. For instance, just a coffee cup before, is fully dunked into the ghost-grease of spaghetti sauce after. (halloween music)

I think for one thing, he is remembering the dishwasher, the magical fix of everything. But it is a figment of imagination now. We need to learn to live with the ordinary drainer and wash often.

I am naughty. I've sneaked away from company for a bit and let HRH entertain. Nervous making, especially with the choice of video/tv cartoon melee.

d harriet my sweet dh does the same thing. He feels if he puts them on the right side or in the sink that it's better. He also loves to have a pan of water and soak things. I love the "ghost grease of spaghetti sauce"! wonderfully descriptive!!! maybe when our d husbands do this we can have the count from Sesame Street - say 1 - 1 dirty coffee cup (or whatever ) in spaghetti sauce water - then having the thunder and lightening breaking over head!

Break #2 for me. Feet up and fan on high.

Our paint selection trip was successful. I think. I hope. DD11 selected a base color for the walls and 3 accent colors. She intends on blending the accent colors. Hum....I'm not sure how this will turn out, but I'm giving her creative desire the go ahead to be adventurous. It is her bedroom, and she has a love of painting so hopefully it will be something she likes. I'm going to do the base color and leave the accent color blending to her.

I stopped at the local grocery store and bought sale items and some fresh produce. I treated myself to a ready made salad because it looked so good - a bed of greens with blue cheese, pecans, blueberries, strawberries, and grapes. I'm having that for my lunch.

It took us seven trips to carry everything inside and then put it away. This break is my reward.

Trying to remember.....did FlyLady recommend keeping an empty tub under the kitchen sink to temporarily store dirty dishes?

In my younger years I stashed dirty dishes in the oven when someone came over.

DH has volunteered to handle all dirty dishes. When he is home, he checks for dirty dishes every hour or so and immediately deals with them. I have had many frustrating moments when I reached for my plate or cup to get a refill only to discover that it is gone. DH has washed it and/or put it into the dishwasher. Sometimes he washes dishes by hand and sometimes he uses the dishwasher.

hello again - I had to stop the outside work as dogs begged to go inside -I put all the weeds I pulled into the city compost bin.
My outside thermometer says it is 93 on (shade); however, the computer says it is only 89. (to me it's close enough)

I told dh I will work again tomorrow - I have to rethink this area for next year. I am tempted to finish the project but the stone will cost money. I also want to raise the dirt in these areas.

Since the dogs are way too hot; I will work in the basement.

ta ta for now.

Checking in~
I went back to bed and slept till 7:15 this morning! Wow that never happens for me.
8:30
I went to a yard sale and got two bags of clothes in my size, wa hoo! They are in the laundry now.
So tickled bc I detest clothes shopping too many choices.
So these were in my size and just a few to choose from helped me so much.
Got exercise packing the two bags home.
Pleased bc they had some hoodies with zips I was hoping to find could not even find new ones they were just pull over ones that I;m not fond of.
jeans log sleeved things for fall I can use on my walks.

9 ish & beyond...
Walked the dog and around the loop.
Got stuff out for dinner while I was flipping laundry.

Had lunch, listening to a pod cast, cut down a couple of journals down to fit in the cover I am using this summer.
Worked on a diff crochet pattern yesterday it is a butterfly shawl, I was hoping to get a triangle shaped one also so more to do on it.

I am so sorry to the universe of Marvel, but if I have to listen to one more episode of Lego Spiderman I shall scream.

Okay, company gone. Various toddler near-emergencies handled, all misses as good as a mile.

Dd42 called in a tizzy while they were here, because (known friend's) tractor drove behind her house while she was on a zoom meeting and made such continuous noise close enough that she felt obligated to apologize to everyone on the zoom call. Sigh. Perhaps I can stay out of this. Not sure. Both her brothers consented to this or I would not have consented to it, but they assumed weekend. No one knew Friday, when their sister would be working in home office right at the rear sliding doors.

Next up, trip out with dd42 for items for party, leaving about 4.

I got a new microwave. We looked the old one up (dstepdil's) and it was headed into its 3rd decade, so not surprising it was on a last leg.

New smaller one matches the walls in kitchen, aqua/teal. Only thing that stays on the bar that has stools on other side for kids. We made tomato sandwiches there today with our company today. Looks neat, no problems. I'm pleased.

I took so long wrapping the present. That's so ME. I at first was concerned it might not look like for a boy, so decided on a navy homemade bow, but couldn't stand how plain then, so curled ribbon in light and dark greens throughout the bow. HRH said, "so... .. worried about it being girlie, were we?" I don't know the more I fuss over things the more I circle 'round. We're going to tell birthday boy that one of the green ribbons fell out but Grandpa has it, and HRH is going to give him an extra folding present from his wallet. He's proud of that idea.
