Shocking Sunday!

It's 8:15am here in the MDT zone, and the village is still closed up? That's unbelievable!

I think I'll set out a few trays of yogurt, fruit, and juices....all chilled and well iced, except for a few for those who don't like super cold drinks.

I'll go get a coffee and come back to work on sorting out my day.

my shock - last night our fridge died for the last time. I don't have the money until next month. I have a little one that dh plugged in.
I will go look at fridge's tomorrow.

As I have been struggling with feeling off this last week and resting a lot; I have decided to only list one job a day and keep my routines. I think it will be good for my brain and my body. I think I have been fighting that I am not 20/30/40/50 anymore and expect that I should be able to do things in the morning, afternoon and evening. I have to accept that, at least for now, that I can't do as much as I used to.

I have a physical on Tuesday.

bittersweet - Thank you for the start today and for the refreshments!

I was up on time and been checking off SHE cards and routines one after another. I took a pause from doing those and went outside to spend time in our coolest part of the day. This morning 90F is our cool temperature. It will gradually get hotter with a predicted high of 106.

Today is a normal Sunday for us. I don't want to take "normal" for granted. Previous experience has shown that normal can go away on a moment's notice.

Finally seated at my desk.

We went and actually drove past the falls twice after we grabbed some groceries. Tonight's supper will be BBQed chicken drumsticks, as they were on sale. Just over $7 for 15 (?) drumsticks. We will boil them for a bit and finish them on the BBQ with a tandoori rub. Yum!!

Dishwasher is full and doing it's thing.

Now I have a day of paperwork to do for accountant.

Bw2 had to use ice chests when ours went out one time for about a week was like camping.

I am glad I do not have to wait for my next book I found it audio on line on yt!

Today is the day our old cabinets go away and we regain our garage. Perhaps I'll begin to regain some control over the chaos here? Dh wants to go to HD or Lowes to look at cabinet pulls. I have no idea what we want. Feel like I need to choose backsplash next, tho. Maybe going to look at and talk about choices wouldn't be so bad?

He's gone out for a walk. I'm going to change clothes and set a timer for 45 min and see what I can do to bring a little order here. Also start some laundry....so many things to do!

Oh, bw2! So sorry about refrigerator and having to figure something out! We've looked at new ones but I think we're trying to wait until this one dies. Considering we're spending $$ on kitchen right now, spending more isn't in our plans.

I was thinking Sweaty Saturday but I'm not sure that would work for bittersweet!

It's a 'tad' 'sweaty' here today, Twins. Shocking was that dh and I managed to get the load of dark laundry done -finally. He put it in before he went to run a couple of errands here at the campground. I walked down after taking some quarters out of car to put in the dryer and switched the laundry -which btw was a very large load this time. After getting everything in the dryer I put the $1.75 in and pushed in the slider. It slid in and there it stayed and I was unable to start the dryer. So waited for dh to return so we could put quarters in another dryer after I switched machines. Dh says the machines do that when their coin receptacles are full. So now they owe us another $1.75. Yesterday it was one of the washers -same thing. Last time this happened dh called them & when the guy came to empty the money there was over $1,500 in these 8 machines. There's another 8 machines on the other side of the campground. Obviously for this time of year they're not emptying them often enough. So, hopefully they'll get here the first part of the week.

Thanks for the start Bittersweet and the goodies. Yum! I'm sipping my iced coffee right now and then it'll be on to getting the dishes done. Dh is cooking lunch -a combo of zuchinni, summer squash, peppers, onions and hot dogs. It's so good! I did get our laundry put away -all but a few things that needed just a bit more drying time and have those hanging. Dipped if I was going to spend another $1.75 for a few minutes drying time.

We did not go to church this morning. Waiting for dh to feel better. I'm telling him I am not going without a mask. As it was another member of our church in Lakeland now has Covid. Actually he and his wife had just returned from a European vacation and he started not feeling well and tested positive. Dh sometimes feels better but then he's pretty awful again. Runs out of 'battery power' pretty fast. He went to watch dgs's 10 & 22 race last night. He wasn't really feeling up to it but much Lucylee's dh had promised the boys he'd be there and so he was. He did say he doesn't think he'll go again as his eyesight seems even worse since this last bout of illness. Track is only about 4-5 miles from here but it's on a dark/winding road and there's lots of deer. Said he might go if someone else drives.

Supposed to rain some this morning but see we have 'threat' of severe storms later today up through the St Lawrence Valley. Even possibility of tornadoes. My thought is it'll probably follow Lake Ontario up through.

I worked 45 min and got laundry going, cleared the kitchen table some and cleaned up in DR. Also took water to the back of the house to plants there. I need to pick tomatoes and zinnias - the better of the two tomato plants may be done - it is looking pretty rough. I gave it some water too.

Dh came through and got in my way of course. I had to tell him that I had cleared that place on the table specifically so I could pack up some things and get them out of the way. He's gone to put gas in his car now, and he moved my car so the folks can pick up the cabinets this afternoon. Oh happy day.

He reminded me that stainless drawer pulls or similar would work best with the stainless sink and industrial vibe of the sink and gray counters.

hello - I chose working on weeds in the inside fenced area - still really bad!!! it has been taking 1 hour for 6' x 4' of work. I had let it go from spring until now. Keeping up with weeds is better than waiting!

younger dog keeps breaking through the electric fence - I have to work with her again - time for flags - I don't think it's her collar as I exchanged the collars - I will call the company tomorrow.
more corn is down. grrrr

a/c unit is making a weird noise -

it is 86 here but it is cooler bc of the cloudy sky.

waiting for lunch. dh is emptying out the broken fridge yay!!! I don't have to do it!!!

heading outside again. I am enjoying just working on one thing and only one thing. it's giving my brain peace.

I totally understand about waiting on the fridge!

my problem is that dh and I have spent so much money on repairs and the floors and painting. I didn't expect the sewer pipe rebuild and other big money repairs coming through. The garden and the help I had planned for cost too.

d Nancy - what a great idea - My kids call these periods of time my "wilderness mode". I am good at it but no one else is happy with it. I grew up on outdoor thinking and my dear mom's time in the war (I was taught differently then my dh) My dh and the kids are not a fan. They know I enjoy using my resources and they don't find it fun at all.
