>>>>giving a big sigh of relief<<<<< I am feeling accomplished because 9th grade science is completely planned, and daily assignments are on DS13 calendar through the end of the year.

I have noticed a couple of things are starting to be difficult to find. What I have routinely bought in the past is no longer available (out of stock). Some things I can switch brands and still find but other items are just not available at the places I shop. Yesterday I called DBro to tell him to start making a plan for what he is going to do when I can no longer get psyllium fiber capsules for him. We discussed possible options (he can switch to bulk fiber and put it in a drink). DBro thinks he saw some capsules on WM shelves, so he is going to stock up. Maybe it is just a fluke supply chain hick-up in some store.

Other items that aren't available in my typical shopping paths are favorite brands of whey protein powder, sugarless cough drops, and melatonin 3mg gummies. None of these items are MUST have but it is simply different than when it was so easily procured.

Many old timers in this area are trying to position themselves for some tough times. Between the drought, the fires, the high cost of fertilization there isn't going to be enough hay and feed for their livestock. Buying feed for livestock isn't financially feasible because that price is off the charts. Many are selling most of their livestock and just keeping breeding stock. That means there is a glut in the livestock market now but next year there won't be much for them to sell (or available to buy).

Before he left for work, I doctored DS13 owies. He learned a life lesson about what happens when you don't have caution in loose gravel. He was driving dirt bike in loose gravel and lost control. Thankfully, there is no long-term damage to his body or bike but he his body received several painful owies on shoulder, arm, and leg. We had told him many times about loose gravel but apparently some things have to be experienced before they become real. He also learned how important it is to be wearing a helmet because his face was protected because of it.

Harmony there is a little black password book for sale at a large bookstore chain here in Canada. The book is small enough to fit in a pocket and it has an alphabetical list on the side of the pages. For the "H" tab, I might put my Hotmail password, for the A, maybe A mazon. I have some of dh's passwords listed, and recently I have been the keeper of the passwords when he forgets. That little booklet pocket thing used to be less than $10 CDN. "The personal Internet address & password logbook". I have actually bought them as gifts for other people. There is room for 3 per page and you can have info such as
name
site address
login/username
password
notes

Almost all errands got done. The tank full of gas only cost $210, as compared to $249 on June 6. (We went on a road trip that day.)

Cos tco's parking lot was nuts, but it was actually worse inside with people putting their carts all over the place because everyone wanted samples of everything.

We already ate some of the chicken. Now it's in the fridge alongside the vat of potato salad. LOL!!

as I don't want to shut down yet - I thought I would just check in and say hi: HI!

I really want to finish the job I started. the heat hasn't hit me yet but it may soon.
younger dog ran off again - right through the fence :? I ignored her but finally pretended to call both dogs in even though my older dog stayed right with me. (Then she came). I can't get angry at her bc she came but I can't let her in the yard with me any more until she gets retrained.
yes it does make me grumbly but that won't help her learn.

time to get my beach umbrella and work again. done

hope you are having a good afternoon!

I almost finished the outside veggie bed. I have to do a pick up and a 2 x 4 ft. section to finish
I planted some more seeds
my tomatoes have not done well and really don't know why.
I usually have the best tomatoes
my green beans didn't do well either - first time as well.
I have to plant my onions earlier next year - the problem I had was the amount of rain that flooded this area for a really long time. I need to add soil/compost to this area in order to raise it up.

CI:
I think my theme song for the past couple days must be "Wasted Days and Wasted Nights."  I am getting a lot of NOTHING done.

OTOH --
Yesterday, after having dgrands for 3 nights & part of 4 days, dh and I went out to celebrate his birthday. We ate at Appl*bee's and went to the movies. Wanted to see Where the Crawdads Sing, but the theater had shot a bulb :!: in that theater and were not showing it! Our second choice was Elvis, and we really did enjoy it. (Plus, they gave us free concessions since we were disappointed in missing our first choice!)
Movie Review --
Yes, as I expected, Elvis is "overdone" in a lot of ways... just too much dramatic license taken, IMHO... lots of things that a quick fact check confirmed, nooo, that didn't really happen/didn't happen that way... BUT -- it is a good movie and, as a big Elvis fan, I'm glad we saw it. There are some spliced in scenes/pictures that are the actual Elvis, and some of it is done so quickly that one doesn't notice or isn't sure if it's really Elvis or the actor. But the final concert scene is really Elvis and we both enjoyed it.

Today, we have dgs and I've just been doing nothing. Talked to dmom a long while this morning.

Harmony, I keep passwords on 3x5s in an index card box. They are filed alphabetically (with the abc dividers) and it's so easy to change one if I have to change my password.
(I also keep some on my phone for the ones dh often asks for when we are traveling.)

9th grade... have fun, LadyM! That's my grade, you know. I taught 8th & 10th grade English on a few occasions, and once, 11th grade American History, but the great majority of my 30 years were spent in 9th grade English. Wondering if you'll do Romeo and Juliet and what your ds will think about it if you do.
(((Gentle hugs))) for your mini bike victim.

Also sending (((hugs))) and good wishes for Mr. Dee. * What is "watchman" surgery?

I wanted to start the month with a new focus and really get back on track... but... life. I was just exhausted after having the dgrands together all weekend, and my allergies are STILl giving me fits. Not sleeping well. Itchy eyes, itchy throat, sniffles, etc...

DDIL told me today that dgs is going to start karate class soon. He also wants to play park league basketball, but that won't start till late November. His church class teacher said she thinks karate will be very good for him, mentally & physically -- for self-discipline, etc. So... we shall see...
(DGD is disappointed because the class only starts at 8 years old, and she is still 6.)

Waving to ALL!!! Hope you all have a good day and a more productive day than I am having!
Tomorrow is another day.

Lucylee, here's an abbreviated explanation of the Watchman:
Watchman Implant - What You Need to Know - Drugs.com
https://www.drugs.com/cg/watchman-implant.html
The Watchman implant is a permanent heart device. The implant is designed to prevent blood clots caused by atrial fibrillation (A-fib) from getting into the bloodstream. A-fib prevents the heart from pumping blood correctly. Blood that is not pumped out may pool in a part of the heart called the left atrial appendage.
Much like doing a stent, although I guess they go up through the length of the leg to the heart (think that's what I read) and put it in that part of the heart. Dr explained he'd have to be on a blood thinner for a month after the procedure. They do it on a lot of people who have trouble with bleeding from a blood thinner and obviously dh is one of those. He's gung ho to have it done from all he's seen. There's a 94.7% success rate which is pretty good.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!
