I finished the outside veggie bed - I also put straw down in 2 areas.
Next: (after I cool off)
blow up tires on the fold it metal cart that I want to donate it out front - I am sure it will go.It now costs $350. I have a smaller cart that I used to Ravinia and beach time when the kids were still around that I love to use in the garden. Those days of pulling multiple heavy bags of soil etc. is in my past and I am ok in letting go of something that is not me right now. in 20 minutes (after my lovely juice break) I will go blow up the tires and clean out the cart then place it out front.

it's weirdly warm for me outside - we just had rain and now we have full sun - it's only in the early 80s but the humidity is at 75% and it's pure sun; I am sure that's why I am finding it hot.

waving to all of you.

Rah rah rah *\o/* cheering you on!!!

Waving to ALL of you!!!

Blessed & LadyM -- y'all are so sweet to say you'd like your dchildren to have me for a teacher. Lately, I have not been able to "remember" anything but my failures in the classroom. I know I lost my temper waaay too often... and I feel so bad about that now. I can't seem to think of anything I really did right... but I know I established some lasting friendships with students who apparently do seem to appreciate my efforts with them, even still, today, so maybe I wasn't a complete failure.
* LadyM -- I missed two questions on the R&J quiz! Possible points of confusion to watch out for? I didn't remember what day R&J met! I knew the play took place in less than a week, but I couldn't remember exactly what day it began. Second, I didn't remember that Benvolio, apparently, was the one who actually convinced R to go to the Capulet ball. I said Mercutio, and I do remember that all three of them were talking and Benvolio and Mercutio were both encouraging him to go -- so I think that was confusing.
Not on the quiz, but I also remember that after Benvolio gives his account of the killings to the Prince, he says, "This is the truth, or let Benvolio die." There is no mention of Benvolio's death in the play, but these are the last words spoken by him and his last appearance.

Today I started out a bit better -- 5 minute floor exercise, s2s before I ever left the bathroom, and before getting on the computer, I did manage to get the sheets in the washer! They are in the dryer now -- but bed is remade except for pillowcases. Still have several loads of laundry to do, but dh wants to try again to see the Crawdad movie... so we are off again...
I have partially s/s bathrooms -- not completely finished with that, but will be before we leave.
:?: Question: Am I the only one who noticed the connection between "Watermelon Day" and "Clean Your Floors Day"? To me, it is obvious. :|
Definitely a STRONG connection there, Harriet!

I think Covid fund free lunches are ending at our schools this year, too, LadyM.

Harmony, I think the Rolodex thing is such a great idea -- putting all tire places on one card is genius! Such a shame that they don't carry those cards everywhere (anywhere?) anymore. Progress is NOT always better...
Tomorrow is another day.

LOL, I did not consider the implications of Watermelon day coinciding with Clean your Floor day, in part because there are no children in this household. Watermelon is purchased already cut in chunks in a container.

Oh my goodness, Harmony. My dh would drive you and your dh crazy. He's seeing every flaw in cabinet installation and I still haven't gotten the answer to my original questions. He's driving me crazy with his negativity. Was the same on the screened porch. He sees every little deviation.

I am making baby step progress in between doing for others.

The painter's tape and paper have been found and I started taping. I almost got to work on this project for 15 minutes before needing to stop to....
** Make a quick trip to the city to pick up DMIL meds (I am trying my best to ignore the ridiculousness of doing this...pick your battles and I'm not picking this one).
** I drove the pickup because it was low on gas. I filled up at Sam's ($3.17) before leaving the city.
** Got dog food for DMIL dog.

While I was doing those errands for DMIL, DH was taking DS13 on dirtbike buying effort. DS13 was successful if you think buying a 250cc 2 stroke bike for $1000 is a good deal. DS13 is now poor (he used all his savings) but is ecstatic with his purchase. He has a potential buyer coming at 8pm tonight to buy his old dirtbike so that transaction will put some money back into his savings. He is trying to save enough to replace his pickup tires before winter weather (his tires don't have much tread on them). He is learning many valuable life lessons about money management while he can still make mistakes without big consequences.

I have cooked 3 meals today in between doing other things.

I have 30 cupcakes ready to take to church tonight to share with DS13 friends. This is as close to a birthday party as he wants. For his actual birthday he wants to take a couple of his best friends and spend the day riding dirtbikes. He did want to go to Top Golf but cancelled that because it took too much time (2 hours travel) and wouldn't leave enough time for dirtbikes. I was going to take him and friends to his favorite nice restaurant, but he doesn't want to do that either because.....it will take time away from riding dirtbikes. He said "We can just grab some food at McD drive through and eat on the way to the track because that won't take much time."

I started a thread in MO, but if it’s too “preachy” or religious-themed, y’all just let me know. I don’t want to start any controversy, just sharing some things from my daily Bible study.
Tomorrow is another day.

hello hello
I finished what I had wanted to. It took 2 days but it's done. (until the weeds take over again  )
the outside veg garden looks spiffy - I put the cart out in front - cleaned out my basket that I carry around, cleaned the rolling cart that I use for everything and it is now in the garage.- I planted more carrots. I find they sweeten as it gets cold.
Next year I think I am going to put some beets in the back garden as I accidentally put some seeds back there and it looks pretty in this one section. It was a nice surprise! I am thinking of putting lettuce and spinach back there as well next spring.

the landscape people are coming tomorrow so that I have to move the hose. I always forget!

dh - I think he is getting old before he has too :D mmmm I am not mentioning that I am getting older though either - I am sure he is thinking the same thing. ah the poor man!!! My dad offered him a chance to run way back when 8-)

hello d sunny! saw you here!

hello d Lucy! I know you were a great teacher - there isn't a teacher out there that hasn't been challenged by students especially in this day and age!!! God bless teachers!!!!
I love Shakespeare but there was no way I was going to take the test lol.
yay on your floor exercise and all your work!!!

oh my gosh I laughed so so hard re: the correlation between watermelon day and having to wash the floor day!!! too too funny
I could see the gleam in your eye, d harriet, as you wrote this. again thank you for the smile!

I can't go back further on this but again hello d harmony

I am sorry your tummy is off d Nancy!

d twins - it's hard to take in someones negative voice; even with those we love. My d neighbor and I just had that some conversation today. I find it drains on me even though I know I should let them be the one sitting with it and not me. It's not easy for me to shut it off too!

okey dokey - artichokey - I have to take a shower, clean up the kitchen and the family room.

I have been finding sleep is not something I look forward to any more since I got the cpap - I am sure I will get used to it. find the good - lol - oh by the way I am truly a beauty when I sleep! :D :D :D

I kept 3 one year old toddlers in the nursery tonight. We rearraigned the furniture, had snacks, sang songs, rode the little push toys, read books, stacked blocks, and rocked together. Time just flew by.

After church DS13 sold his old dirtbike. I'm glad that transaction worked out for him.
