I am trying to figure out what I need to do to get to the next step on my journey to have a home that is easy to use.
I saved this quote to my "SHE" file. Right in there with "the next right thing". I had just put an item on my to do list for daily of figuring how to make one area/spot more organized and easy on the eyes. Today it was to clean off a tray I have on top of my printer. It was holding anything I'd been using over the last couple of weeks. Filed most of that away and now it's down to a few items in a hard folder that I'm 'working on' and a small recipe book that I'm copying recipes (2 a day) into my computer. My aim is to eventually sell all these recipe books -I have lots and I don't want my dks to have to deal with them later on.

Dh said he was going to work until 1 and come home to rest for a couple of hours. Then we'll leave for my eye appointment, dinner, groceries and stopping at the bank to deposit the check I received from insurance a couple days ago.

Should go find something for my lunch I guess and get that eaten.

Thank you, Dee for deleting it! I looked in briefly while at the dermatologist's office and wondered why there were two posts. I must have hit "Post" twice!

Good report from dermatologist. Nothing had to be removed, or frozen or worked on. I actually had four areas of concern to me and all were fine! But since I've had one (very small, thankfully) melanoma I want to be sure I'm not growing anything else. Took a little more than an hour at dermatologist, mostly in waiting room, but that's okay.

I realized this morning that the piece of mail yesterday for dd was her replacement debit card. She's never changed address on her account. So I texted her and she asked me to take it to FedEx. She called to talk while I was still in the car on the way there, and needed to talk. Her friend who is getting married has health issues and is super super focused on the wedding, to the point that dd feels she's not supportive of dd. And dd is stressed perpetually anyway. Suggested therapy, as usual, and she said she would "look into it." Dd hasn't developed a group of friends in NJ, she needs to do that, but what do I know?

Anyway, while on the phone with her, in front of Fed Ex office, the drywall guy showed up to work because I told him I'd be home all day. So had to hightail it home and then go back out to Fed Ex and get groceries. I'm exhausted!

And later, I think there will be tile people here.

Wow. I'm even more exhausted.

Vent ahead: Dh came home for lunch and I tried to talk to him about cabinet pulls for the (new) kitchen and now he wants the kind of latches that you push to open. (Like our friends have - they built their house a couple of years ago and everything is first class - we were there last weekend. This is the first I've heard of it, and he's asked me several times if I want to talk about cabinet pulls. Then I also had to relate all the discussion w dd and the trip to Fed Ex and the drywall guy here. And discuss the fan that we ordered that won't be in now until 1 Sept. (He says "I tried to tell you they could take awhile to get.") Of course when I ordered it last week it would be here yesterday.

So I'm back to square one on cabinet pulls and need to find another fan, I guess.

(((Twins))) for all the rushing about and trying to meet up with various workers! AND for stressful dd...

AND -- thanks for the start-up -- I REALLY need those words... I'm going to copy them in my planner.
Imagine what you want then get out of the way
Remember energy follows thought so be careful what you say
So be careful what you ask for
Make sure it’s really what you want
Because your mind is made for thinking
And energy follows thought
On sooo many levels this hits home with me...
Be careful what you say... what you ask for... make sure it's really what you want...
You all know where this leads me...
And of course, on a more practical level -- I should never say I am lazy or "just not motivated" or any of those negative things -- WE should never say these things to ourselves (but I don't think most of you have as much trouble with that as I do!)
We should SAY the things that build ourselves up and give ourselves energy for the day and the tasks we need to do.

I also read the other day that ALL of us have the time, every day, to do the things we NEED to do.
Sometimes we tell ourselves we NEED to do something that is really unnecessary, but God has given each of us exactly enough time to do the things that we need to do and that HE wants us to do.

BTW -- I must make an appt with the dermatologist -- just a few different kinds of spots I'd like to have looked at. My mom's preacher's wife has melanoma right now, and is going to Vanderbilt for treatments. Makes me think I'd like a little reassurance that all is well with my moles, etc.

Well, I never made it here to post yesterday, but I am here now to report TWO productive days in a row!!! I don't know HOW long it has been since I could say that!!!
Yesterday's ta-das:
* Vacuumed main areas of the house, with high/low vacuuming in the den (crown molding, baseboards, etc.)
* Went to church Fall Kick-off for several hours
* Walked away the pounds 15 minutes

The Fall Kick-off was not "work" for me; I had no real job. I stood around and watched children on the blow-up water slide for a while, but there were other adults in charge; and I stood around and made an effort to help with clean-up for a while after the meal, but it seemed people doing that were quite capable and needed no extra hands; and I sat and listened to dh, ds, ddil, dgs, and another man singing and playing instruments. OTOH -- there was LOTS of socialization, and of course that sort of thing is tiring and I always leave these events thinking, "Did I talk too much, did I say something stupid, I hope she/he didn't take that wrong, why did I tell that story, etc etc etc..."

Saying a prayer for easy time with the infusion, LadyM! You ARE an amazing mentor to all of us, and your dchildren, and I am certain the young ladies at your church look up to you and think "ooohhh... I want to be just like HER!"

Supper sounds delicious, Cathy!

Nancy, you are being VERY productive lately, it seems. You go, girl!

Dee, it's good to hear that Mr. Dee is having less symptoms, but I know y'all will be so glad to hear from the cardiologist and get this problem solved! Waiting is the worst!
I am struggling moving today. oh well - sitting on my bahookey will not make things better.
Oh, (((blessed))), seems like this is me EVERY DAY!!!
But you get sooo much done, and you are always sooo cheerful and uplifting. You probably don't realize what a bright spot you are in so many people's lives -- including MINE!!!

I must search for the MMom video now... I must have missed it.

(((Harmony))) You are getting so much done, despite having so much time taken up with extras for dh, and I know what a time-drain that can be.
So far, my only assistance needed for dh here in the shower is drying the shower walls when he gets out. I suppose I should be glad he wants to take care of his shower and do this every day. I still go over it weekly with a Mr. Clean pad, but I'm sure the daily drying takes a LOT of the work out of it. I spend less than 5 minutes a week on it. BUT... he is sooo obsessive about it. Dry all the walls, floor, shampoo bottles , shaving cream can, etc...
(I just spray my shower with shower spray and call it good. Once a week I go over mine with Mr. Clean pad also.)
Tomorrow is another day.

who is very personable and I know she follows through.

An Ideal complement for almost anyone who works in helping others, Dee! Speaks well of her. So many disappointments in customer/patient/client care could be avoided if we could just find those 2 qualities in those who are helping us. Hope Mr. DeeClutter continues to have good news.

Well, I have an Energy follows Thought today.

I bought an upholstered chair! Yes, against all odds, I let go of money. Well ... .. after the sale started. ;) I had been thinking for a long time, wondering if it would be good for the LR. It arrives Saturday, which, I thought, was quite fast considering the unhappy wait for the couch, etc., but then, I suppose that experience taught me not to believe it until I see it. It has more curvy, graceful lines and is in a print rather than a solid, so I think it will "comfy" the LR and be welcoming.

So ... Decluttering!
Realizing it's now time to move a bookcase from the LR to keep the room from feeling crowded, I've been decluttering and organizing to make space for it elsewhere. Not my favorite, anyhow, so if it has no eventual place here, that would be alright.

The new chair is, perhaps, "the next step on my journey" as blessed said, but toward a home that seems "me" as much as one that's easy to use.

"Energy follows Thought" does have several levels for me, too, Lucylee. If you think it, it can happen, like a self fulling prophecy.

I'm beginning to think of unpacking and moving back into the kitchen. Ordered some new organization items for the deep drawers.

Talked to project manager about all the stuff. Ordered new range hood - per disc. with dh took the only one that was available today at Lowes. It it breaks next year, too bad. Can't figure out how to cancel the one I originally ordered, tho, so looks like I need a DPC. Frankly, today I don't have the energy for it. Talked to dfriend M - she is in Nash-vegas visiting her dsis but needed to check in. It always improves my mood to talk to her.

Oh good, I got the first fan order cancelled.

I'm going to see if I can focus long enough to work some.

Harriet— the chair sounds very nice! Good for you on making a good buy!

I am actually making progress here…
Dusting in the den (this week’s focus area) — got ceiling fan/light, and now making my way around the room.
Wiped down light switches and doorknobs.
Also made appointment with dermatologist!
And helped dh with some small tasks.
Tomorrow is another day.

Home from the city and was successful in accomplishing everything on my list. Plus, I filled up with gas and got a pleasant surprise to see gas below $3 a gallon now ($2.96).

Within an hour of the infusion therapy both my arms were hurting, and I found myself trying not to move them. If my arms remain stable next to my side, then the pain is reduced. I can only assume the infusion therapy is causing this discomfort. The first 3 times I had this treatment, I had the same nurse, and there was no pain. That nurse announced each step as she was doing the treatment. This time that nurse wasn't there and the two RN's that did my treatment today didn't announce the steps. Since there is pain this time, it does make me wonder if they did something different from the other times. ANYway, I'm going to limit my activities for the rest of the day and hopefully my arms will be better tomorrow.

The walking tacos I planned to make for the kids today didn't happen. I realized that I didn't feel like cooking and needed something to feed the kids for supper. Taco Bell was the last drive through I saw before leaving the city, so I made a quick decision to take a chance. So I drove through Taco Bell and brought a variety of burritos and a dozen tacos home. I didn't know what to order because we rarely eat there (maybe every 3 years). I don't even know if the family will eat this food. Maybe there are reasons we only eat TB every few years? OHs. well. It seemed like a better alternative than nothing. If they hate it, then there are freezer and pantry staples available so they won't starve.

I am declaring today to be done. I am going sit in recliner and/or go to bed for the rest of this day.

Dh and I are finally home. In all we had 6 stops to make after we left our RV. 1) to see Dcamp"owner" to check on a check for DS-A for a golf tournament Sunday for DGS10's hockey team; 2)Eye Dr, 3) Restaurant for dinner, 4) groceries, 5) bank, 6) post office. Glad to be home.

Our dinner was so-so. Dh ended up ordering the wrong thing. I know he's just really not feeling himself and find him to be a little confused here and there. He's really light-headed today. Dr. told him Tuesday that this is evidently the symptom he has when his Afib is acting up. He was not in Afib when he was at the Dr's Tuesday.

Eye appointment went fabulously! No problems. Said my vision had changed a little but no hurry to get new glasses. Good thing as I paid dearly for these lenses in January (mine were very scratched from my fall in December). They were very pleased with my glucose #'s (A1C -5.9 and this mornings BS was 77). Add to that the fact that my dr lowered my prescription to only 2.5mg of glipizide in the morning. His biggest concern was checking to make sure I wasn't having double vision after the fall/fractures.
